I rented a car a week out 30 minutes before I was supposed to pick it up. They called me and told me they had no car for me. They did zero to help. They just said sorry have a good day. I will never rent with any budget ever again in my entire life. I have never had a problem with Enterprise ever.

Gave 1 star only to write this review. Rented a vehicle and when my husband dropped it off he forgot his wallet. When he went back for it they claimed not to have it even though the hidden AirTag said it was there. The AirTag was moving within the vicinity as he was looking in the parking lot and eventually it led us to the employee bathroom locked in a paper towel holder only employees have access to the key. $900 cash and 2 credit cards were stolen and we had to call the police to come make a report as the employees denied it and even tried to blame the tire shop next door. The tire shop has zero access to their employee bathroom. Also employees claimed they would provide camera footage however have not provided and also over charged $170 on my rental bill. The cops are still investigating theft charges and I will never ever use the Simi valley location again which is a shame as I have a very long standing relationship with budget in general on a presidential tier so this is pretty disappointing.

Requested a large moving truck got there and they only had a 10 foot truck. They had confirmed two days before! How can you do that to people, they are moving! And to make matters worse the guys behind us had the same problem. Don't bother, they don't care.

Rented a 26 foot truck online for a school event. 3 days later (the morning we were supposed to pick it up), Budget calls at 8am (when my parent volunteer driver was already on the way there to pick up the truck), and says not only do they not have a 26 foot truck, but they have never had one and not sure why the website says they do and allows people to rent one. I asked if they had a 20 foot truck and they said all they had was a 16 foot truck and the closest Budget rental of a 26 was all the way in Van Nuys. We had a specific time schedule and there was no way the driver could get to Van Nuys and back in time during morning traffic. I agreed to the 16 foot truck and figured we'd have to make two trips. We weren't traveling far so that would still be quicker than going to Van Nuys and back. When my driver got to Budget and they pulled out the truck, the Check Engine light came on. They looked at it and said they didn't think we should take the truck. They then called me (I am handling all of this from my office at school) and notified me about the truck and said all they had available was a cargo van. This forced us to cancel the reservation and make a mad scramble to find another vehicle. If Budget had notified us when the reservation was made 3 days earlier that they didn't actually have the appropriate vehicle, a whole big mess might have been avoided. Fortunately after some calls and a quick trip, my driver was able to rent from U-Haul. I gave a big shoutout to the volunteer parent who handled this mess but I was absolutely furious at Budget for creating this situation.

Had the worst experience with a rental from this location. I moved from California to Ohio which was close to 3,000 miles. The truck we got would not accelerate past 65 mph without shaking. The speed limit was 75mph throughout the entire trip. Upon reaching Indiana the tire completely blew knocking the passenger mirror off as well in the process. The entire vehicle slid and we almost lost our lives. To spend over $2300 and not be given a safe vehicle is entirely ridiculous. Customer service were not helpful. Here’s a picture for reference of how the tire looked after almost crashing. The road side assistance came and stated that the tire had no tread and should’ve been replaced. This is very dangerous and I would never rent from this company again.

Day One: we went to Simi Valley Budget to pick up our car at 08:10. The Budget staff processed the paperwork but there was a problem with the car we did not get out there till 09:00. Day two: we reported to the Budget that the car given was a smoker's car. We were told there are no other cars and no other suggestions by rude staff who hung up on us. We all got sick during our trip, especially our daughter who suffered from an asthma attack in the car with A/C on.Day 10: Back to Simi Valley to return the car at 08:00. The staff told us that the car was supposed to be in Atlanta. There was no record the car was rented to us so I could not return the car even though I showed the original rental paperwork. The worse thing that happened was the other staff attempted to con me for additional charges by telling me that the gas was almost empty. I showed the staff that the tank was full. I just filled the car up at Costco gas station in Simi Valley. Budget was trying to scam us since I did not believe that the staff working there could not tell if a car's gas tank is full or not. After one hour, the staff printed out paperwork just to get me out of their office. By the time I left, Budget charged me an additional day for rental since I have returned the car 40 minutes late. The reason I could not return the car was Budget's mistake, not mine. We are not responsible for Budget miss management and unprofessional staff. We are extremely upset by this experience. Wish we had rented our car from Enterprise Car Rental. We booked our rental car through Costco travel. Costco has always treated us well since we have been members for over 25 years. We have never had a bad experience. The staff there refused to provide the manager's contact #. I complained to Costco and Budget Head office.Never again rent from Budget!

What a disappointment. I was given a truck without a gas cap and and which the heater was broken. The tow dollys lights didn't work and the safety cable was ready to snap. I'm Pretty sure that it's illegal to drive with things this way. Before I even left I had to call roadside service which took all day to fix. This set me back a full day, resulted in my losing the cost of a hotel room and adding another day to my travel which will mess up my work schedule.Buyer beware. There's no quality control. No systems being followed. No customer service and this could be very dangerous

We arrived to pick up the reservation only to find that our truck wasn’t there. We got the email the morning of where Budget had falsely confirmed that the reservation was ready the morning of. Upon arriving the adenine individual at the front desk just shrugged their shoulders and said that they didn’t have a truck for us. She then offered to waive the cancellation fee, how magnanimous of them. We then asked what other vehicles they had instead which caused the lady at the front desk to become irritated… like we were inconveniencing her; it was totally absolutely bizarre. No concept of the term ‘customer service’ was employed here. Would 10/10 NOT recommend renting from this place, you might just be paying money out of pocket to reserve a vehicle that doesn’t actually exist. If you do make the poor choice of utilizing this service, CALL AHEAD to confirm with a live person that your reservation is in fact there (and working).

I made a reservation online, and then I came in and was told there were no vehicles.Edit: they managed to find a SUV for me, egg was $50 per day more expensive than what I had reserved online. But at least it was something.

This is a warning to anyone who rents with Budget. This is a review of corporate because this is who you will deal with if you have any issues There will be no help from corporate. They are hard to reach, they do not return phone calls, and rep. who calls and claims to be supervisor can't resolve the issues, and they have the power to put a hold on your credit card. We finally had to hire an attorney. Here is story Rented car with full coverage with 2 drivers so my son (29) could drive the car. Car broke down. Car replacement broke down this time in a parking garage at midnight. They called towing service # on car key and towing wouldn't give a time estimate to pick up car. An hour later garage was closing so they left and took Uber home. ($100.) Next day was told car was towed. Three days later told Budget called, they couldn't find car and it was our responsibility. REMEMBER-we had full coverage that included theft? Couldn't get hold of supervisor, no return phone calls from Budget for days and only after days and many many phone calls, nobody could help and it still isn't resolved. Hold and charges on our credit card. HOURS and hours trying to sort this out. We have a recording of towing company saying they towed the car. We have recording of Budget putting us on three way with towing and being told "Yes. car was towed." Budget said no because they couldn't find the car and we were responsible because my son left the car in the garage. He was with his fiancé in deserted garage at 1 am being told they had to leave by garage security. What was the alternative? We still are being charged for a week rental and there is still a hold on our credit card. 3 weeks later. Any help ideas are welcome. An aside that is aimed at store in TO where we rented: first car had 43,000 miles, dirty, scratched up, and 3/4 of a tank of gas. Broke down. Car #2 was filthy with dirty fingernail clippings on the floor. Pictures upon request. This car wouldn't start in a parking lot at midnight. A dangerous situation.

Fabio is awesome! He always does a thorough inspection and is so friendly! I was running a bit late one time because I didn't realize their hours changed and he was so kind about it! I've seen him interact with many customers and he's great!
