Terrible customer service. Understaffed, and lies to customers instead of actually servicing. If you are chosing Avis to save 20-30$, you’re making a mistake. Guy named Santos is the worst. Even hangs ups on me when i asked for a supervisor, clearly a lie, contacted the supervisor 5 minutes later. Guy takes avantage of someone who’s english is not as strong, which is unfortunate for someone named Santos, maybe he think he’s better. Don’t forget where you’re from buddy.

Made a reservation a week in advance. Upon arrival found out that they don't have any cars available. They did not even bother to call the night before. Had to go to Enterprise. I DO NOT recommend this place and will NOT be using Avis again.

Worst rental car company ever. Every single time we’ve tried to rent from here there has been a problem. Even after reserving a car several weeks in advance they called us the night before our roadtrip to tell us they didn’t have a car to give us. No help at all. Had to change our plans despite so much advance planning. Will NOT be using Avis ever again. You guys beware too..

Calls on a blocked number after the location is closed to cancel my reservation for tomorrow. I call back no answer. Clearly reading the reviews this a trend at this location. Mind you I also drove by the location prior and saw they had multiple SUV’s in there lot. This is very unprofessional. Take your business elsewhere.

Daisy at the Simi Valley Avis location was friendly and helpful. She helped us compare cargo space between vehicle options and the whole process was smooth and easy.

UPDATE AS OF 10/01/2023...WENT TO PICK UP OUR RESERVED CAR TODAY. GOT TO THE COUNTER AND WAS TOLD NO CARS ARE AVAILABLE AGAIN. THIS IS THE 2ND TIME THIS AVIS LOCATION HAS PULLED THIS SAME STUNT!! THE WORST LOCATION EVER!!! STOP APOLOGIZING FOR YOUR WORST EVER HORRIBLE SERVICE AND FIX THE PROBLEM. WOULD GIVE ZERO STARS IF THAT WAS AN OPTION!!Avis called 20 minutes before our reserved pick up time to tell us they have no cars available for us. We reserved in advance and even received an email confirmation. Terrible Terrible service!!

This place is absolutely TERRIBLE! I do not recommend renting a car from here. The customer service agents working here could care less if you rent a car or not. After being put on hold for several mins, I finally called back to be put on hold again for another 10 mins before hanging up. This Avis needs new ownership immediately! Avis corporate would be ashamed of this location in Simi Valley. AVOID THIS PLACE

Update. Avis resloved this and We rented a car in Simi Valley for a trip to Arizona. Car experienced a blowout on the freeway. The car was newer and didn't have a spare. We called Avis and they said they would take care of everything at no charge. It was a hassle waiting for the tow truck and getting an Uber to the closest open location (out of Avis's control) so we can get another car, but it all worked out. At no point during the call did they say I would be charged for the tow. Just received a letter saying they were going to charge my card for the tow. Upon calling Avis, they resolved the issue and didn't charge us. Impressed with the emergency roadside assistance and CS team.

Even though I possessed a rental agreement with a specific price to rent a vehicle over 2 days I was charged considerably more when I returned the vehicle and after a week has gone by I still haven't received an adjustment. Ive been renting cars for business and pleasure for over 50 years and have never had this experience before!!!

Caution fraud alert! I prepaid for the gas and they charged me a full tank of gas when I returned (and at well above market price). I only used a quarter of a tank. Please report this company to the BBB.

Day one: we went to Simi Valley Budget to pick up our car at 08:10. The Budget staff processed the paperwork but there was a problem with the car we did not get out there till 09:00. Day two: we reported to the Budget that the car given was a smoker's car. We were told there are no other cars and no other suggestions by rude staff who hung up on us. We all got sick during our trip, especially our daughter who suffered from an asthma attack in the car with A/C on. Day 10: Back to Simi Valley to return the car at 08:00. The staff told us that the car was supposed to be in Atlanta. There was no record the car was rented to us so I could not return the car even though I showed the original rental paperwork. The worse thing that happened was the other staff attempted to con me for additional charges by telling me that the gas was almost empty. I showed the staff that the tank was full. I just filled the car up at Costco gas station in Simi Valley. Budget was trying to scam us since I did not believe that the staff working there could not tell if a car's gas tank is full or not. After one hour, the staff printed out paperwork just to get me out of their office. By the time I left, Budget charged me an additional day for rental since I have returned the car 40 minutes late. The reason I could not return the car was Budget's mistake, not mine. We are not responsible for Budget miss management and unprofessional staff. We are extremely upset by this experience. Wish we had rented our car from Enterprise Car Rental. We booked our rental car through Costco travel. Costco has always treated us well since we have been members for over 25 years. We have never had a bad experience. The staff there at Budget are unprofessional and crocks. Never again rent from Budget!

SimiValley location is the worst. Didn’t get the class upgrade that was promised for being a preferred plus member, AMEX member or the fact I used email link that says I will get free upgrade. Manager’s customer service was bad, didn’t care. Car was not cleaned or sanitized. My customer service experience was same as other reviewer Julie-Anne. I would go to Enterprise or other location next time.
