This was an absolute ripoff. We knew what we needed. Tech came and said we were right and he would order and install. Took our money and no word for 9 days. When I called he said he couldn't find them. He had no intention of providing service. Only interested in the check. Use anybody else.

I called asking for a part for my water heater. James didn't have it, but he let me know where I could pick it up and gave me their number. He then took the time to walk me through how to relight my water heater on my own.

Worst customer service around!! Shops like this make it very easy to buy from a big box retailer because they're so incredibly rude. Terrible customer service.

Called for an appointment and James came the same day. He was very kind and courteous and definitely knew what he was doing! The whole process took about an hour which isn't so long and now my dryer runs great! He also helped clean up all the lint which was a plus. Definitely recommend him! I paid $175 for the repair including labor which I don't think is too bad as well!

I called this phone number expecting a business. The business location turn to be closed, but the owner still do home visits to fix appliances. Jim was excellent. My dryer broke down and it want heat anymore. I called him originally to buy a used washer. When he knew which brand, he advised me to keep it because it is good brand. I called him Sat at 12 pm. He told me he would come 4-6 on the same day. He was at my house 4:30. Fixed my dryer and had it working like new in one hour.

I had Marin and Ramon deliver my fridge about a week ago and they did a great job! There was some miscommunication about if my roommate needed to be there or not when they came to deliver it and they were very friendly and helpful! They were in and out with no damage or issues!

Thanks to the help from Calvin today. He definitely works hard and deserves respect in this company. Overall very pleased about American appliances. From move in to move out they set clear expectations and provided top notch service. Couldn't ask for anything more when renting a refrigerator.

James answered the phone when I called. He runs a top notch operation. Every other company that I called, wanted to send a technician over for $45 and the operator couldn't answer basic questions about my appliance. The other companies also wouldn't let me talk to a technician. I did not feel comfortable paying $45 when I didn't even have a ballpark as to the cost of repair.James has a lot of experience and was able to narrow down the problem to most likely caused by one or two things and was able to provide an estimate as to the replacement cost in either situation. He was honest and helped me resolve the issue at a very competitive price.Thank you.

James is a very kind and honest man and will give anybody a good deal on any commercial or residential appliances and his items range from rental too almost new stainless washers/dryers and refrigerators to specialty items like space saving washer /dryer combos....his specialty!Also trash compactors and dishwashers too....even microwaves!He also servicers and restores classic kitchen appliances too!Get you hard to find parts and his work and items come with a guarantee as well!A super guy and good business to support!

I've worked with Jim for over 8 years. He was our guy on all our appliance needs when managing our multi-unit property. He's a genuine small business man that made sure our tenants were taken care of. When we needed a repair or replacement he and his team were always great.

Customer of 9 Years, now a customer no longer. I could go on and on about the reason, sufice to say they did not keep their word and the service was terrible. I was so frustrated, I would not take delivery of my repaired appliance, and instead bought one from a competitor. Wish I could have given minus stars. Very sad because I used to refer friends to this business. They really blew it.

On the phone James said he had the appropriate part I was looking for in stock. Horrible is a generous way to describe his customer service but I was in a bind so I went to pick up the part. When I got there he changed the price from the originally quoted $35 to $50. $35 was already overpaying for the part as it's MSRP was $23.99. Although I direly needed the part this was the last straw and I walked out. American Appliance is a complete joke. Don't waste your time or money dealing with him.

I wanted to find a LOCAL owner/operator for appliance repairs at my home, stores and apartments. Based on his Yelp reviews, I called James and he fixed an apartment oven at a reasonable price. While my initial call/message was not returned the same day (subtract one star), I did reach James the following day and, after he made several attempts to reach my tenant, the repair was made in a single visit (add back the subtracted star). James kept me posted by phone (several calls) throughout the process. I plan to use his services in the future. Thanks James!

He specializes in getting hard to find stainless pro series kitchen appliances with brand names like WOLF, ZERO TEMP, KITCHEN AID and AMANNA. Built in cooktops and wall ovens too!...and dish washers and trash compactor also! He has your laundry room covered as well with machines from space saver stackable washer & dryer units to the latest front loading steam cleaning washers and dryer sets. SO...if James can't fix your old machine he can set you up immediately with a reconditioned appliances that he has personally check out and repaired if needed. All have limited warranties and his customer service is the best I have ever seen in a field that is crowded with inept repair people and questionable resellers. First let me start by saying we have purchased used appliances from this business a few times over the years. Our past experiences were all satisfactory. However, this time we purchased a used refrigerator and we discovered the owner's cranky attitude isn't so easy to ignore when things don't go well. We bought the refrigerator and it broke after just 2 weeks. It was about 5:45 p.m. on a Friday when we discovered it had broken during the day. We called the company, which was closed for the day, but the message said in case of an emergency call the owner's cell phone, so we did. He answered it and said he was going on vacation for a week but he would bring a replacement fridge early the next morning. Great! By noon the next day we had not heard from him so we called him and his voice mail was full. We kept trying. We finally got a hold of him around 2:00. He said he would be over in 30 minutes. At 4:00 he still wasn't here. O.k. so he finally got to our place around 5:00 with a small refrigerator, which was better than nothing and he took the broken one. He said he would be back in town on Thursday. He said,"It was a miracle he answered his cell phone at all and we were damn lucky to get the replacement fridge." Well, that made us feel a lot better about waiting all day for him! On the following Friday we called to see when our fridge would be repaired. He said he didn't know when because he just got back from vacation. We told him it would just be better for us to get our money back since we were tired of the little fridge. We spent three days of the next week trying to get a hold of him to get our money back and for him to pick up the small fridge. He did give us the money back (minus the delivery charge) and his final words were, "You were lucky that I came out on my vacation to give you another refrigerator. Some of these other fu**ks don't do that." We are somewhat forgiving about problems. We would have been o.k. about the broken refrigerator IF he would have acted a bit sympathetic--even if he had to pretend. A few years ago we bought a new fridge from a local company that broke after a couple weeks and they replaced it in one day. We would not use American Appliance again to purchase but maybe to repair an appliance that we didn't need done quickly. By the way, they have moved to 2699 E. 28th Street, Signal Hill, CA
