On arrival, the check-in staff were friendly. Parking was ample, and I was able to park right in front of my room. The room was immaculate. Very quaint. No bathtub, but a huge shower. After being on the road all day, I took a hot shower. The bed was comfortable. The A/C unit was a bit loud, but I was so tired, it did not keep me awake. In the morning, I had breakfast in the lobby. Nothing real fancy, but a wide variety. The coffee was great. Very quiet stay. Reasonable rates. I would definitely stay here again.

I just stayed at the Sojourn for a second time, and wanted to add that Marcy, checked me in, and again, it was a delight! Marcy was kind enough to give me the room I had asked for. She was upbeat amd cheerful, even though it was late. She sent me off to my room, laughing, and above all, feeling secure that if I had any immediate needs, she had my back. I want to make it clear that this is an updated hotel. It is clean, and comfortable, but do not expect frills. This hotel is perfect if you do not plan on hanging out in your room all day. It is also perfect for a quick few overnights - or a business trip. Like I said earlier, there are millions of restaurant choices to walk to in the neighborhood, as well as a Whole Foods and Pavillions and Ralph's - and CVS- and Target. There is no microwave or coffee maker, but they have a really nice breakfast buffet- and a fridge in your room. That's good enough for me.The only issue I had was getting the heat going on the first night, so I froze. I called Steve at 5am, and he was very understanding. He walked me through the process of getting the heat turned on. It was not until late into the next day, that the room temperature was reasonable for me. My bad, for not asking when I checked in, but I was very tired. Just know, the heat and AC are old school and a little different - and may take some time to get your rrom to the temp you like, but they are functional, and effective, once you know what to do to regulate it.

Checked in for a 5 night stay by Marabel, who introduced herself as the Head Housekeeper...my 1st thought was 'They cross train here.' It only got better. The motel is an updated older facility that has chosen a 'retro theme' to the 50'-60's. The cleanliness is amazing. Exterior, rooms and the breakfast areas. Even the way the breakfast items are presented assure sanitation is very important and the items were kept re-filled during the breakfast hours. I was most impressed with the staff. In addition with Marabel, we interacted with David, Adrianna, Emily and Erica. This staff has decided to be happy. I never experienced, heard or observed anything except the staff's pleasantness and efficiency, whether it was with a customer or another staff member. Looking forward to visiting you again in the Spring!

We came into town from Michigan for a film premier, and the front desk employees were the best of the best in Los Angeles. We will 100% be back to Sojourn just because of Marcy, Emily, David and Erika. They gave us directions to all the great sites in the area, even printed them out for us. They were so personable, talked to us, helped us out, gave us tips to get around L.A. I can't imagine staying anyplace else other than Sojourn. Thank You to Sojourn Staff for making our stay amazing! (Erika is extremely beautiful)Rooms: Very cleanSafety: Great Safe areaWalkability: You can walk to anything you need in the area.

They didn’t have a room available at check-in when I had a confirmed and paid reservation! I was told they purposely overbook their third party sites, which is why this happens. I even called to confirm the day before arrival. I booked a double bed room directly on their website and was given a single bed. I was traveling with my teenage son so this obviously wasn’t going to work. The pictures online are also very deceiving because it appears larger and newer than in person. The air conditioning was loud and didn’t work well, but the worst part was the window in the bathroom with no covering or frosted glass along with an apartment building directly outside that could see in. I had to cover myself to go to the bathroom and hang a towel on the glass door to shower, although I’m sure it didn’t hide everything. How they could be in business like this is horrifying! But it was late at night and we had no choice but to stay. I’ve tried calling to talk to the manager about a dozen times over the weeks since then and have left messages, been told he’s out and will call back, but no response. My advice is to stay at the Courtyard Marriott just down the street that is so much nicer with a friendlier staff for just a little more in cost because it’s worth it, which is exactly what we did for the rest of our trip.

Just stayed here to go to Universal for my girlfriends 22nd birthday. We arrived at midnight the night of check in and Tristan at the front desk was wonderful! Check in was smooth and easy, I made the reservation through Expedia and was worried there might be some problems as I had problems in the past booking through sites comparable to Expedia. Tristan offered us a hair dryer and other things we may need during our stay and let us know about their inclusive breakfast. It included bagels, waffles, toast, cereal, coffee, and juice. For the price of the stay I was very happy with our experience, and free parking which in LA is unheard of. It was only 10 minutes away from Universal which made it convenient and a 7-11 nearby that was walking distance. Would definitely stay here again or recommend to anyone looking for a place in this area!

This is a cute hotel with a pool . The staff is helpful and accommodating . The rooms are small but clean and the housekeeping staff was very responsive to providing extra towels and pillows as well as cleaning the room (3day stay ) . Location is great . A special shout out to Emily at the front desk who answered all our questions and attended to our requests with a smile . Great customer service from her and the rest of the staff .Safety: Quiet , well -lit . Free parking close to your room .Food & drinks: Complimentary continental breakfast . Coffee was hot and fresh . They continually replenish the breakfast bar -toast, pastries , breakfast burritos . There is also bottled water for guests .

The rooms here are nice. The bathroom is nice but lacked absolutely any space to set anything down, could use a shelf for guests to put their bathroom products and such. We did request maid service twice, once by asking the front desk attendant and once by using the maid service please door sign, and didn't receive any which was a little meh. There was also nobody at the desk the morning we needed to check out but the woman running the breakfast area was very nice and took our cards to be checked out as we were on a tight schedule for driving. The breakfast provided was good, nothing crazy just like a bar with cereal, pastries, bread, bagels, and beverages. The pool was great, 7 feet deep at the deep end and kept the kiddo occupied for awhile, one in our party got athletes foot from the pool area here though so beware!! Make sure to wear your sandals!

Let me start this by telling you to read the entire review. We arrived on a Thursday afternoon and it was about 95 degrees hot!! I do mean hott...We checked in with Marcy the front desk clerk, who is very nice and accommodating. We step into our room and it was an oven. After 30 minutes of waiting to see if the room would get cooled down it didn't.I spoke to Marcy at the front desk and she indeed went above and beyond by giving us a room with a great working air conditioning. My family and I moved to our new room and after 5 minutes of being there my wife saw a guy and his about 12 to 13 year old son peeping into our truck.I went out and politely asked them what they were doing and they said they were just admiring the beautiful truck.Remember this is all taking place during daylight. Now that we have been in our room for two days I came to the conclusion that this trip is the worst trip that I have been on.For 2 days the neighbors from the top have been running and stomping non-stop all night.I am seriously considering leaving in the middle of the night.I hope this doesn't fall on deaf ears.

Decent overall. Light switch didn't work upon entering. Lamp was broken. TV is very large and only has cable, but no program guide is provided nor is there a button for it on the remote so you have to blindly flip through channels. Bathroom has no counter space.Added a 2nd night and was not told in the evening that I would have to pay the deposit again, so I was rudely woken up by a phone call at 9am. At 11am I went to pay deposit and upon returning to my room, neither of my keys worked. Seems like the staff could be a little more thorough.Room was comfortable and clean otherwise

We were greeted with much joy on our arrival. One of our kiddos was featured in a special event nearby and the manager, Erika was so kind to welcome my daughter with a care package gift! We were made to feel like VIP.We enjoyed the ambiance of the lobby & the rooms, the pool, the comfy beds and the continental breakfast (bagels, cereal, microwaveable breakfast burritos, oatmeal, pastries, milk, apple juice, coffee, and water bottles)The air conditioning in the room worked great. We recommend having it on continuously versus the auto mode to avoid the sound of it triggering on & off. We were able to turn it off during the later evening hours and the room stayed nice & cool.We had a few issues during our 3 night stay and each time we called the front desk they took care of it, ASAP. They were very helpful and accommodating our entire stay.Universal Studios Hollywood and KCAL News Studios are only 15 mins away from this location. We had convenient access to the freeway.Thank you to all the staff at The Sojourn for welcoming us and making our stay a positive one.Rooms: The beds were ultra comfy! Include sheets, a comforter, 4 pillows for each queen bed, plus extra blankets in one of the dresser drawers. We had a room with 2 Queen size beds. Also, I really like that you can’t lose anything under the beds because they have a box frame.Nearby activities: Universal Studios Hollywood is close-by, it took us 15 minutes to arrive there from the Sojourn.Food & drinks: There’s a McDonalds nearby, walking distance, for those quick meals.
