I'm so impressed by this club. Both of my kids go here and the coaches are fantastic! There are always at least 4 coaches on the mat with the kids at all times They teach with kindness and dedication. A great opportunity for kids to learn focus, discipline and respect.

Stopped by for 4th of July open mat. New Ground Jiu Jitsu is awesome! The staff and members were super friendly and welcoming, creating a positive vibe from the get-go. Plus, the gym is spotless--clean mats and organized. Overall, it's an incredible place for all levels of Jiu Jitsu enthusiasts. Check it out--you won't be disappointed.

Bottom Line: This is my favorite place to be. Great energy, great people, great instruction.I'm a newcomer to jiu jitsu and grappling in general. It can be intimidating walking into a new gym without knowing anyone or any experience. I felt so welcomed on my first class, The coach was incredibly attentive and I left feeling like I had found a new home. After two months of going several days a week, I am so happy I walked in on that first day. I feel more confident every time I go. I'm learning way faster than I had anticipated, thanks to the excellent direction from all the coaches. All the other members are supportive and everyone is there to learn, grow and have a great time.I couldn't recommend this place more. I love everything about it, from the atmosphere and amenities, to the good rolls and good vibes. Each time I leave, I can't wait to get back into the gym.Do yourself a favor, go check out a class. You will not regret it.Thanks to everyone at New Ground, all the coaches and all the members. It's such a blessing to be a part of this community.

This place is the best quality BJJ in the valley. Everyone there is very chill and east to work with. Mike is a true instructor. Go on Sunday at 10:30a for open mat.

I've known Coach mike for 3 years now and wow he just keeps growing and makes sure you are growing too. He is so understanding and hands down the best coach I've had and had about 10-12 different coaches. some people come in just for a good workout and some people want to be the next world champ. This gym is for sure world-class so offers both and the coach will take care of you and your goals and is very easy to talk to. I love how the top guys at the gym won't go too hard on you but at the same time not take it easy on you if that's what you want.. (trust me they know by how you roll) so for sure no egos and people could train and not get hurt... my knees thank you coach lobes

I highly recommend New Ground Jiu Jitsu to anyone looking to learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The gym teaches no-gi submission grappling, which is slightly different from the traditional jiu jitsu training you would find at other schools because they don't wear the traditional kimono/gi/uniform. Instead, students wear rash guards, shorts, wrestling spats, and sometimes just a t-shirt and shorts. Owner/Head Coach Mike "Lobes" Frausto is a fantastic teacher and a humble, good-natured guy. He's easy to speak with, which makes it less intimidating to ask questions when they arise. As a student, that's something that I find to be really appealing. He never talks down to you or makes you feel dumb.Everyone I've encountered here has been welcoming and friendly. I have not run into any over-developed egos or gatekeeping here. Everybody is focused on learning, improving their skills, and helping their teammates get better. The facilities are spacious and clean. The aesthetic is modern and bright. Nothing is run down or looks sketchy. They have locker rooms for folks to change clothes, clean bathrooms, and a clean shower room. They have complimentary towels for members, as well as complimentary coffee for the 6am classes (a wonderful touch of class and hospitality that comes in clutch on those cold mornings). If you're in the area and curious to see what Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is about, come by and give New Ground a try. You can sign up for a trial class and see if it's the place for you!

I started at New Ground last summer with zero martial arts experience… and now I am hooked. The people here are so incredible and positive — it's contagious. From students to teachers to the owners, the care taken to help everyone grow and improve has continued to impress me and makes the gym a place so many people clearly love to be a part of. I couldn’t have picked a better place to start.

This review has been long overdue, I've been with New Ground for over a year and it's become a special place for me. The gym itself is beautiful, clean, and has a very welcoming vibe to it, ALL of the coaches are amazing, they are so kind and patient, and they know so much about jiu jitsu. They will gladly break down a technique or simply take time to drill it with you. I consider myself very lucky to have come across New Ground and now be a part of this place for this long. It is the place I look forward to going the most throughout the week, and I always leave the mats feeling good. If you're still considering trying jiu jitsu, this is your cue.

I recently joined New Ground JJ and have had an amazing experience so far. The instructors are all highly skilled and knowledgeable, and they do an excellent job of making each class fun and engaging. The facilities are clean and well-maintained, and there is a great sense of community among the students. I highly recommend New-Ground to anyone looking to get into jiu-jitsu or to improve their skills. Overall, a top-notch gym!

Finding New Ground Jiu Jitsu was one of the best things to ever happen to me! I've been to tons of jiu jitsu gyms but none like this. Incredible instructors, great community of people, and best of all the facility is SO CLEAN! Whether you've never tried Jiu Jitsu or are advanced- I'd only recommend NG. Mike and Celine have created something genuinely special here.

New Ground is a great gym! I am in town for a week, they welcomed me in. The space is very clean and updated. The gym manager/owner was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. I got some great competitive rolls: everyone was training hard without being a j**** I came to a class and learned some good details on some technique I already know, as well as some new techniques I've never seen before. I highly recommend this gym.

Absolutely love this gym. I've trained at many gyms throughout the last decade and this one is by far my favorite. Both coaches are remarkable, technical, and super considerate of you individually. I told them both I had a knee injury and they regularly ask how I'm doing, they work with me to offer alternative warm-ups and moves if the one they're teaching causes discomfort, and they will show a technique a million times if you ask them to. Super patient, super empathetic. I love these guys, I love my team mates, and I absolutely love this gym. You will NOT be disappointed. Perfect gym if you're a beginner, so don't be discouraged to try it out. You're not going to "slow anyone down". The team is very supportive. Alternatively, great gym with experienced practitioners as well. Best of both worlds.
