So I went to the store today with my friend and she picked a vintage jacket from the Tampa Buccaneers for $125. We noticed the owner or a manager of the store an older Mexican lady with blonde hair.. not only did she TRY to take $100 dollars more from my friend saying " someone switched the tag " with a look... my friend said well it wasn't me. .. even offered $75 more for the jacket ... she still she said no ....?? I noticed that while we were about to finish our purchase, she was behind us looking at a rack, pretending to put some things together. I know she was definitely eyeying us and that maybe we switch the tag....? WOW... who would offer more money for a piece of vintage clothing. You would rather lose a customer money and reputation after acting the way you acted.??? No way! Because everywhere I go even if there's a price tag most of people who know customer service honor the tag... she completely took advantage of tye situation and we know where she was coming from after my friend offered $75 more for the jacket... DONT GO HERE

I just read a comment that just had me dead silent. Dude Ive walked into iguana quite a few times before. For some reason they didn't have me put my bag at the front desk which is what they typically do. My boyfriend was getting his tattoo done so I went there alone. While I was walking around the store I noticed and felt like there were eyes on me. One of the staff began to follow my every move and direction. So basically here's the juice... I had found a cute black fishnet top that I liked and couldn't decide if I wanted a small or medium, cuz sometimes I like to go a size over for comfort. Anyways since they have changing rooms I thought I'd try them both on to see and then as I got ready to go change I realized I'd just stick with the small size. I didn't really feel like putting the top (size medium) back to its original spot so I just left it in the shirt section. As I got back into clothes after trying on the top, also just a heads up I had purposefully left my bag right outside my changing room door so that the staff could see that I'm was not trying to steal shit! So the top was a bit scratchy, and I decided to just leave it, so I left it over the changing room door. As I began to walk to the door, I was Midway in the store by this time, still walking, and one of the staff comes up to me, and I actually told her because honestly all of them we're acting strange, so I just told her that I had left the top on the changing room door. Then she asked me where the second top was that I had grabbed earlier, so now I have proof that they were eyeballing me the entire time... I told them I left it in the shirt section. She asked me where is it? I said I can go grab it for you if you need to see. I ran over to where it was, honestly part of my brain had kinda forgotten which row I left it in, but I found it, walked over to her and handed it to her, and I was like, imagining of what I would've said to her, like you think I'm stealing shit now bitch? Man I hate it when people falsely read a human being, just because of the way they dress, the way that they have their hair, the way that they do their make up, or any other stupid shit. Don't you think taking their bags is enough? You don't have to Stock them around the fucking store. No one's gonna come into the store as long as they keep doing this, no one's gonna be getting that fun thrifting vibe. Anyways I'm done, lmk if this has also happened to you I'm so curious.

Have you ever shopped for clothes at a store and they wouldn't sell you the clothes that fit you? I just tried on multiple vintage suits at Iguana, found the coat and pants that fit and they wouldn't sell them to me because they wanted to sell the pre set pants and jacket to me regardless of the fact that the pants didn't fit? I asked, would you rather have the sale or not? They said no, they can't split up the pants and the jacket. I was trying to buy Pants and the Jacket, from the same matching suit, only the pants were one size up. Not a great way to run a clothing business?! Why would I purchase clothes that don't fit? These are basically poorly made "Costumes" and not high quality suits and over priced for what it was. $225 I was going to spend. Oh well.

Came here the other night ready to spend some money because I've been looking to up my style lately but I was greeted with such bitterness by an old lady that works here. I really hope that's not the owner because she does not represent this store very well considering how simple the selection was. There was a younger girl there who works there with glasses and she was nice but honestly I think that she was following me because she thought i was going to steal something.. There's better places to go. Don't waste your time being treated with disrespect when you can go somewhere else that has way better clothes and workers that are nicer.

I love a good consignment, used, second-hand thrift and vintage shop! Some of my favorite clothes for myself and others as well as gifts usually come from places like Iguana, but not being able to capture the essence or have visual aids for reference is a bit strict in 2024... They have a no photo or video policy below eye level when you enter that has been in place since they opened their doors back in 2006 at the Sherman Oaks location. I fully respect it and their right, but haven't set foot in this store since before 2020 and even though I found some great stuff and got inspiration I think it might be a bit before I return. I was greeted when I walked in by a woman near the front... And later the manager let me know about the policy in case I missed it... She came on a little strong energy wise... I apologized and let her know I'm an avid reviewer who loves supporting small and local places (My camera oftens starts exploring before I actually do lol) Se did a complete 180 to super welcoming and encouraged me to share, but just to know they have a small sign up front... o.o Minor policy and rules aside you can enjoy your experience + find so much... Practically everything color coded, style coded and in one of the most organized ways possible... From long sleeve shirts to denim to cowboy, uniform, prom, costume chic to bins of scarfs and fabrics... Suits, outfits, graphic tees, tiaras and more... Iguana is a massive place to explore with an additional upstairs loft of vintage fun as well as a mini shoe shop esque section in back. It's super clean and has no shortage of abundance on the racks, shelves and most parts of the store. When I went to check out the other woman asked which part of the store I grabbed some of my items... I'm guessing because pricing varies this way... I did get quite a bit, but it's not as great of a value as other places close by like American Vintage.... Would pop in again for accessories if needed, but seek them out at a few other spots first. Definitely encourage everyone to have their own experience especially if seeking out something cool and vintage via Iguana Clothing - Sherman Oaks. Street metered parking available.

My boyfriend and I came to visit after spending some time in the area looking at some other second hand stores. As per usual I left my bag at the front as most stores have you do. We were really drawn to the pins as we like to collect pins and the store was huge, which was cool and we didn't know where to start. This is where things went downhill. Saying our time here was uncomfortable is an understatement, we were stared down by ALL the staff, and followed around the store by an associate with short brown hair and bangs. I'm not sure if this was because of the way I looked, and I was being judged based off my body modifications but I have never been followed around a store like this. At one point, after looking at the pins, SETTING THEM BACK DOWN IN THE BASKET RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE FAKE BLONDE ASSOCIATE WITH THE FAKE COLORED EYE CONTACTS, and walking away to look and the selection of clothing upstairs, she approaches us and asks if we took any of the pins with us. I was shocked we were confronted like that. I've never been so blatantly followed around at a store like that, even when I would go to look around at a different side of a counter, or a different corner of a store, someone would immediately follow me there. When we went upstairs, the associate with the short hair and bangs coincidently went upstairs right after us. It was ridiculous. If you are someone who is punk or goth, has body modifications like piercings, tattoos, ect, don't go here cause these people will judge you and assume the worst out of you. Also, the clothes were nothing exciting, I suggest Super Thrift in NoHo for an actual fun thrifting experience, you can find vintage there for much cheaper.

This place has cool clothes but the absolute worst service. Just tried to buy a dress and their machine was down so the lady kindly tried to solve the problem but nobody would help her and I just couldn't buy the dress. She called the other location to try to take my card over the phone and the man on the other line was incredibly rude and wanted way too much personal information for just charging my card. Held me there for way too long. Incredibly frustrating, just wanted to buy a dress.

This store is awesome. The owners are super friendly. It's very clean and organized and has a cool vibe and good music. I'm not really into vintage stores in the store blew me away. There's a lot of new stuff in addition to Vintage. I got a super awesome fluffy jacket to wear to a wellness retreat party. They have all kinds of vintage jeans and accessories and all sorts of cool stuff! Check it out!
