2 Stars Because of the Doors:
My one and only complaint is that the doors slam shut. A family has been staying next to me and another across from me and they've been going in and out allllllll night long. I've barely slept 3 hours because of the way these room doors slam shut. I'm a combat veteran that is used to sleeping through various sounds but having this come from next door and accompanied by the vibration from the slam - it's a bit excessive.
5 Stars for Everything Else:
Everything else is really clean and in good condition. The hotel staff is super friendly and accommodating, especially towards pets.
Please fix the doors!
Rooms: Room is in great condition except for the bathroom sink faucet that isn't secured in place. Also, the drain plug in the bath tub is just in the tub but not secured.

Very clean inside and out, recently renovated, friendly and helpful staff. No pool, and occasional noise from adjoining rooms.
Rooms: Nicely furnished, comfortable beds. Large flat screen hd tv.
Food and drinks: Basic breakfast of waffles, eggs, cereals.

Terrible Experience – Rude Staff and Lack of Basic Communication
I am a long standing Hilton Honours member and to say I'm shocked and disappointed by this experience would be an absolute understatement.
The lack of basic communication was shocking. My booking was cancelled on the day of without any sort of explanation. When I tried to reach out to the customer care via the app, I was told to call the hotel directly. What's the point in having a customer care service if they redirect you to call the property anyway. Bear in mind, I am from Canada and I didn't have roaming enabled on my phone so that's that.
Anyhow, I tried reaching out to the hotel directly as advised after borrowing a phone from my Airbnb host. When I called, I was straight appalled by what transpired next. Keep in mind, my reservation was cancelled without any sort of explanation in the first place. I tried talking to the front desk person who answered my call and asked him to provide some sort of reasoning why my reservation was cancelled. I was in Vegas and I had to drive to LA so time was also a factor and I had already checked out from my Airbnb as well.
The front desk person straight up said, I don't know in a rude, condescending tone and blamed it on my travel agent who made the reservation - American Express in this case. I asked him if they can rebook the same room as it's inconvenient and at the last minute, how would I get another reservation at a reasonable price. He straight up refused to take any responsibility or provide any solution and told me to do one. I protested and asked to speak to a supervisor and I was put on a 10 minute hold which eventually disconnected. On further trying to reach out, my number wasn't picked up. Obviously, on purpose. Also, I didn't use any expletives, didn't raise my voice and spoke in a calm and collective manner so any rebuttal from corporate saying that I was rude etc is just them covering their act.
Given how I've been a long standing Honours member and the fact that my booking was cancelled for no fault of mine, I expect better. I expect some sort of empathy at the very least. But, I got nothing. I had to rebook another hotel at a steep price which just alleviated my situation and frustration further. Fun fact - I called amex and they were on call with the Hilton team at Sherwood and they said it was a booking error on Hilton's end. So that clarifies things even further. Pathetic.

Manager cancelled my booking 10 minutes before check in time. When I arrived they stated its been cancelled but they can rebook me for $190 a night as a "special family hilton rate". That would come out to triple compared to what paid for in JUNE. I was told LAST minute at the lobby of this hotel that it was because there was a "glitch" on their system from June 14-18. If that price was up there for that long, then it wasn't really a glitch :/ I even received confirmation about my booking FROM HILTON 1 week before check in. I had to book with another hotel last minute. Was on call with Hilton's customer service for hours and the call kept getting disconnected every time it hit the 50 minute mark. A shame that hilton does not honor prices or have decent customer service. My parents used to book with hilton all the time in past due to how amazing they were. Sad to see that I wasn't treated with the same service. Kind of ironic how their rewards system is called "Hilton Honors". Whats worse is that I came straight from LAX to get ready for a dear friend's wedding. Lesson learned, will never book with Hilton in the future.

The rooms are decent they've tried to upgrade various components the air conditioner and heating systems are a bit loud but the people are great the location is good and for a Hampton Inn it hits the mark

Mega hotel simply amazing.... Price performance for us tip top with breakfast everything you need... View was super beautiful area... No noise... Room service every day tip top....!!!! Staff very friendly will definitely come back

Great place to stay. Everything was very nice. The property was clean and professional. The room was great, the towels were good, our family was comfortable. We had no problems whatsoever. Would and will stay again if in town.
Rooms: Clean, very nice, spacious shower.
Nearby activities: We visited Universal Studios.
Safety: Felt very safe.

My daughter and I are checking out today, and our stay was amazing! We were in a King Lg Room and happened to snag a room with a beautiful skyline view...the picture below was taken from our room the first night here (#421). Our room was meticulously cleaned each day and all the staff we interacted with were amazing! It's a 20 minute drive into LA, and we loved being able to end and start our days outside the busy city. There is a Target directly across the street which was great to pick up snacks and other necessities. I will say...the pillows are not the fluffiest, but I was able to use the extra blanket in the closet to put under the pillow, and it provided the needed support. We will definitely stay here again if ever visiting North Los Angeles!

NEVER EVER BOOK A ROOM AT THIS HOTEL!! Particularly through third parties like Expedia - they will cancel your booking 4 days before your trip due to glitch in their own system when showing room prices and will never honour the reservation nor care that your highly-anticipated vacation has been ruined
EDIT: The hotel can make all the promises they want for correcting the future bookings, however a decent business would provide some form of compensation for the ruined vacation plans (or perhaps honour the booking rather than cancelling out of greed for more money!)

I would give it negative if I could. I booked the hotel 2 months ahead and the booking was confirmed paid in full. However the hotel cancelled my booking on the checkin day!! I had to rebook on the same day I arrive LA at a significantly higer last minute price!
I can't believe the hotel under a big brand would do such schetchy thing.
Avoid at all costs unless you enjoy the risks of ruining your vacation.

This place is amazing. The minute I walked in I was shocked this place was just sitting here this whole time. Luxury look and feel everywhere. Very secure, very clean, very polite and helpful staff, and great breakfast. They ensured my stay was great from the moment I walked in and I really appreciated that. Whenever I am in the area, I will be staying here.
