Wow. Just wow. Amy the owner is awful. Like other reviews mentioned, they charged my card on file without my permission, refused to fix the situation, and were very rude about it. Had to cancel our card and get a new one to make it stop. Wasted my time and bad energy. Beware.

I love this studio. The space is so bright and airy and it's always a nice, civilized crowd.

Loved the studio until I met the owner. Extremely rude and condescending when I arrived 4 min late to a class bc I had to find street parking. They would not let me in nor refund me bc it's "listed on the website". I asked what is the cut off time? There is none, if you're late you cannot enter. Uncaring, hostile energy - the opposite of what a yoga studio should be. Never coming back.

I don't know why they say they are open. I went there. wanted to inquire about classes that were on the schedule later that evening. either they were just robbed. left town never locked up. no one bothered to properly let thr clients know. I never received an email.it was weird.we'll need to find a great yoga studio with Bengineer classes or take priates again. hard to trainer reasonable price. like 65-75 range. I buy pachsges so ut makes sense for the trainer. I'm not ome and done.oh wellthe search continues.

I have been going to Sound Bath Restorative Yoga for years. Prior to the pandemic, it was a large class with wonderful instructors and musicians. Now, the instructor Amy Santiago is the worst. She mumbles instruction and seems to hide herself so that the students have no idea what pose she is asking for. The students are still in the last pose when she has completed "instructions" for the next pose. The music is hit or miss. Dianna Seva was very good, but other musicians seem to play the same tone over and over again or bang bells loudly over you that are supposed to be soothing. Class is now in the middle of the day on a Sunday--very inconvenient and not conducive to just taking the relaxation to bed. When asked about the strange time, Amy defensively responded to go elsewhere if I didn't like the time--a very nurturing and Zen-like response! The class is better than no class and having not been able to find a replacement, I still go. Overall, sound bath yoga is amazing and restorative. It is unfortunate that Amy is the instructor.

After using my credit card on file without my permission, and then ignoring my repeated calls and emails to resolve the situation I feel compelled to let others know about this practice. I'm not sure why. I'm surprised at their appalling business practices because it's not the first time they've been callous and unkind. When I was pregnant, they refused to extend a class package that I bought, but was unable to use because I was pregnant and my doctor told me not to engage in certain types of physical activity until after the baby was born. I never even asked for a refund. I simply asked for an extension of the expiration date to use the package that I purchased. The answer was a hard no.Like the others who have written negative reviews, the customer service is appalling, particularly given that this is a yoga studio And should be a place of community and kindness. You'll notice that no one ever even responds to reviews because they care so little about their customers. Having taken literally hundreds of classes at the studio over the years. I'm pretty heartbroken to see what it has turned into. I agree with the others that the owners are the origin of the problem, particularly Amy and Sigrid. Larry teaches a great class, but he isn't teaching often and the studio seems to really run by two women who have no regard for their customers as people or individuals. So disappointed.Do yourself a favor and go to one of the many other studios locally and if you do go to the studio, be sure you don't keep a credit card on file because you don't want to end up having them charge your credit card without your knowledge or authorization.

It's a nice space but the class I took with Amy Santiago was not good. She definitely knows plenty of asanas but the tempo of the class was way too fast, I feel there wasn't a flow. I also noticed most of the students had difficulty keeping up (especially with their breath) and really pushing them selves a bit too hard.

Fantastic Center to meet like-minded individuals to focus on yoga, stretching, mindfulness, healing and restoration.

I used to love this place when Peter Barnett (and the people before him!) owned it, and had a regular practice there for nearly 2 decades. Ever since Sigrid and team took it over several years ago, though, I no longer like the vibe. I kept going occasionally even after my favorite instructors left, just because the Sherman Oaks location was so convenient. But I don't see any reason to continue now that they've moved to Studio City. I need a studio that feels warm and welcoming. If I wanted to practice in a place that feels like a business first and a studio second, I'd go to Core Power or Hot 8.

Very nice studio and people. The space is small than what is shown in photos. Teachers are lovely and classes I took were all level and very easy to follow. Receptionist was very welcoming and informative. I look forward to going back. Studio does provide bolsters, blocks, and knee pads.

I've meant to post this review a while ago... Most classes are 75-90 minutes, there's only one class that's short and it's 55 minutes. Yoga for Beginners with Niki S. was very relaxing and stretching. Even though I booked through ClassPass. They were saying that I owe, then I said this is what I pay ClassPass for. Another girl was having the same exact problem but this was the second time she encountered this problem. They let us take the class and figured it out. Turns out the guy wasn't listening when we said ClassPass because there's a different way to check people in. It was such a good beginners class, I signed up for 2 weeks for the $30. They also have 30 days for $60. Restorative with Melissa is highly recommended. I want to just keep taking her class to ingrain in my brain how to position my body when I am just chilling at home. Usually heated yoga gives me something to sweat about. This is not heated yoga and the basic class with Barbara made me sweat because I have NO balance I tell you! So embarrassing I'm always the wobbliest one in the room. If you look at me, you'll probably lose your balance too. I have no balance, so for me, class is moderately difficult even though it's a beginner or basic class. Parking is ample and free!

This was one of my first in person yoga studios I went to post-Covid. I felt so safe and welcomed here. Bonnie and Sigrid are incredibly knowledgeable and funny. They make yoga fun and easy (but never too easy! Lol) the studio is small but very cozy. They offer tons of classes, which I find uncommon. Love this place!

I LOVE Black Dog Yoga. The space is quaint, clean and has an overall lovely/intimate feel to it. The class prices are affordable, and the teachers are incredibly kind and helpful. I'm not the biggest fan of hot yoga. and (sadly) most LA studios are only hot yoga these days. Blessed to have found this spot and can't wait to get back in following a long hiatus throughout quarantine!
