My wife and I have had a wonderful experience with Kentfield Kennels. We have had labs our entire married life and found what will probably be our last pet. He is everything we had hoped for. Calm, intelligent and a really good looking boy. We also took advantage of the started puppy training (thank you Jane) and it was well worth it. Although we may have missed out on the young puppy stage I did not miss the crate training, chewing, house breaking and multiple vet visits. We just couldn't be happier. Thank you Kentfield Kennels.

We had a great experience with getting our puppy from Laurie. She was very patient in answering our questions and helping us make sure that we had the right dog for our situation. We opted to go through their started puppy training program and as we visited every two weeks, we were always extremely impressed with how competent they were and how well they treated the puppies under their care. Their trainer, Jane, let us know each time what they were currently focusing on that week.We just brought our puppy home this past week and are confident that he is happy and healthy and well on his way with his training to fit in perfectly with our household. I highly recommend Kentfield Kennels.

Laurie and her team have been very helpful to select a puppy for me that meets my needs for a therapy dog. I have bought 2 puppies from Laurie. While the first one is on the energetic side, the second one has a very good temperament and receives many compliments as a puppy. The starter program is what I would strongly recommend, especially for first lab parents. My puppy was able to walk nicely in a leash when I brought her home and is easily potty-trained and crate-trained. I am extremely happy with the puppy and I am now training her to be a therapy dog. Only after 3 classes in a puppy group, she was brought into an advanced group walking along dogs older and bigger than her. While there are a few things she needs to pick up to pass as a therapy dog, I cannot be happier and I look forward to her bringing happiness and joy to others as much as what she has been doing for me. Thank you Laurie and her team!

I am a dog trainer and I have trained many Kentfield labradors. I loved them so much that I had to get my own!Evie is almost 4 now and she is such a healthy, intelligent, and gentle girl. She is the greatest dog I could have ever asked for.I really appreciate all of the DNA testing and OFA clearences they do, all of their adult dogs and puppies are healthy, happy, and well socialized.I am so grateful to Kentfield Kennels, Laurie, and the whole Soloski family for the wonderful work they do with these dogs, and for giving my family our sweet girl Evie!

They do not take as good care of their dogs as portrayed and her son Jacob Soloski is a thief and con artist. Beware!!!

Our Chocolate male, Rocco turned 6 months yesterday and my wife and I could not be happier with our purchase. When we started looking our desire was to find a companion dog, we do not hunt, with a calm disposition. We currently have a 9 year old American chocolate that we rescued at 2 years old, Chase. Chase has turned into a wonderful dog but will always be scarred by the abuse he was submitted to before he arrived at our door. I share this because what we did not anticipate was how loving the puppy was towards Chase, how he brought the puppy out in him. After watching how the two play together we came to the conclusion Chase never had the chance to be a puppy but is making up for it now. It took a couple of weeks for Chase to welcome Rocco into the house but now the two are inseparable.Rocco is a very quick learner, always anxious to learn to commands. He is very confident around other dogs at the park, almost fearless but cautious enough to sense when his advances aren't welcome.I should also note that Rocco was 4 months old when we received him having opted for the 8 week starter puppy program. It certainly made our life much easier as he slept through the night on arrival and was already used to basic commands. Potty training took us awhile to learn his schedule and not give him too much freedom in the house but we got through it and all is well.So if you are looking for a calm, sweet, and loving puppy from our personal experience, Kentfield kennels is the place to go.

Buyer beware!! This Kennel has been exposed to parvo!!I was just recently sold a very Iill puppy by this extremely unprofessional breeder, certainly no longer exhibiting the qualities of their past AKC Breeder of Merit and Breeder of HEART designations.I just purchased a previously sold puppy on Oct. 15th, 2022 (which was previously sold on Oct. 13th and returned on the 14th). While putting the puppy in our car, it had diarrhea in the crate in the presence of the breeder and yet no mention of illness. He was also very small and underweight for his age, and upon arriving home a few hours later the puppy continued to get worse (lethargy, watery stools, and in less than 36 hours from purchase had started vomiting). Our puppy was hospitalized and diagnosed with canine parvo virus less than 48 hours from purchase. After promptly (at 2:00am while on our way to the vet emergency) informing the breeder of the issue, in writing and via phone as well as providing the vet contact info to them, Breeder contacted the vet without my authorization, and harassed them accusing them of misdiagnosing the puppy. She also then lied saying we were returning the dog to her, so she could make decisions regarding stopping it’s care (which would have killed the puppy!) The vet contacted me immediately as they were extremely disturbed by the conversation and documented it for my future needs in court.Despite communicating with and providing all requested documentation, as well as ordering and paying for additional tests the breeder requested (proving he was negative for all other parasites or illness and PCR test positive for parvo, not just the snap test), the breeder STILL DENIED liability, and continued to make false statements regarding what had transpired.Initial demand letters were sent requesting payment for vet invoices (including what is rightfully owed per the CA puppy lemon law), and several opportunities for settlement agreements were made, with no result.I was also given a falsified veterinary clearance of health document for my puppy (per the State Dept. of OK, the original document of health clearance said it was for a black female puppy, but the copy I received had “chocolate male” written over it. I filed the complaint with the state dept. as well. And if all that was not bad enough, the breeder also failed to provide the AKC registration papers at the time of sale (and still has not 3 weeks later.) I called the ALC myself and the entire litter of puppies is not even been registered, even though my puppy had been sold, twice! That goes against the AKC Breeder Guidelines. They never even expressed remorse, or so much as asked about how our puppy was doing?!? Clearly their only priorities are their business reputation and money.Because of their breeder status, these puppies are sold for a much larger price tag than most in norther CA right now, and clearly do not live up to those expectations.Needless to say we are filing suit. Sure wish I had listened to and read the review of the others who had similar experience with this breeder in the last few years as well!Thankfully our little boy Sunshine made a complete recovery and is putting on weight like a champ. It’s a shame he had to start life with such an awful experience, and had we not purchased him when we did, he would most certainly not be alive.

it is a terrible experience trying to communicate in any form with them, but the dogs are worth every penny and hardship. seriously amazing dogs - smart, well tempered, good looking, and healthy.

The lack of integrity from Kentfield Kennels is only exacerbated by the inaccurate response to my original post below. The situation was extremely heartbreaking, no doubt, but this negative review is just as much to shed light on Laurie’s/Kentfield's actions during this time, as it was the loss of our puppy. The facts are as follows:1. The Parvo originated in Kentfield Kennels**This was confirmed by veterinarians who treated 3 other puppies diagnosed with Parvo (that we are aware of) from the same litter at Kentfield.2. You vehemently denied that other puppies in your possession had parvo when asked about it directly (Knowing in writing and by phone that other puppies had Parvo. Blatant deceit and lies to your puppy’s owners to protect your “brand” and business).3. I contacted you after 5 days (not two weeks) after bringing home our puppy. You consistently ignored my calls/emails/messages even though I left VM saying it was urgent as we were concerned about the rest of the puppies in the litters at your house4. The puppy's original bill of health was not clear (Ear infection, Giardia, Parvo)5. You did not refund us in full, or even close. You played a legal card and we lost thousands of dollars on top of a devastating loss. For the record, I have call logs, emails, recorded phone calls with timestamps, and payments (or lack thereof) to confirm. As I originally wrote, I warn anyone getting involved with someone like Laurie and Kentfield. Alas, We learned a very important lesson, and encourage those inquiring about puppies at Kentfield to ask the following questions and compare with facts above.1. How many other puppies in that litter, or other litters in 2020, that came from Kentfield and contracted Parvovirus?2. Did you make the other owners aware about the Parvo that came from your facility?3. Do you have the “clear” bill of health records as proof?4. Do you have your "proof of payments" confirming our refund in full?

Back in the summer of 2013 I bought my first lab from a breeder in Central California. I had not connected with Kentfield and this breeder had an older pup. This pup became my service dog but we also quickly learned that sadly he had many major health issues. I worked with him until it just became too much and retired him in Dec 2018. I knew I wanted a much more honest and trust worthy. I needed someone that did health testing. Everything I read pointed me to Kentfield. I am so happy I made that decision. Laurie DNA tests these dogs for everything including things that don't normally effect labs which meant that the problem that plaqued my last dog I knew would not be a problem. I knew it was a tested item with Embark. Laurie knew I was looking for a Service Dog prospect so even thou she had me assigned to a litter she sent me an email stating she had a much better litter for me coming up in a few months if I dont mind waiting. I'm glad I did. My boy is gorgeous!!! He is also incredibly smart. When we picked him up the facility was impeccable. I couldn't believe the cleanliness. There was nothing out of place. All of the dogs were very happy and at healthy weights. All dogs were in great body condition and no one appeared ill. I will definitely return for my next dog 7-8 years down the road.

We've had a wonderful experience with Laurie and Kentfield Kennels. When our previous dog passed away rather unexpectedly in June 2020, we were so heartbroken. We started to look around for a puppy but every breeder had such a long waitlist. With Kentfield, we decided to apply for a started puppy and got a response surprisingly quickly! The puppy was born in Oklahoma and trained there. Despite the pandemic, wildfires and heat wave that delayed the puppies a few weeks, we were able to pick up our beautiful yellow lab in September 2020. She just turned 1 year old and we love her so much! We so appreciate the training that Kentfield did, as we were apprehensive about taking on the sleepless nights of having an 8-week old puppy. She came crate-trained and knew basic commands, and has a wonderfully gentle temperament, perfect for getting along with our kids. We continue to train her - a started puppy is not a finished puppy! - and she has responded quite well, though as with any dog it takes time and patience. Last year was overwhelming for Kentfield with the meteoric increase in demand for pups during the pandemic so communication could be touch and go, but Laurie always came through. We would highly recommend Laurie and Kentfield Kennels!

Laurie, and her Son (Jake) & Family in their Oklahoma kennel were incredible... we were able to select a puppy we wished for, and they all kept us informed from whelping, tiny puppy days - all the way through pickup (born July 2020, pickup September 2020) - all this during the COVID-19 restrictions, Sonoma County fire impacts, and heatwaves across the southwest - they took GREAT care in keeping us informed and delivering our new family member to us safely!!! Now... our dog, and all the dogs we have seen, are all INCREDIBLE!! Our Raven (female black Lab) is beautiful, friendly, loving, and VERY smart!! These are superior quality dogs, easy to train, perfect around people, and Kentfield Kennels is a CLASS ACT!!! We are truly thankful for them, and HIGHLY recommend taking the time to read their website, and reach out if you are looking for the PERFECT addition to you family.

Never bought a puppy here. Didn't make it that far. But I've learned already that communication is a glaring problem for them. I had a horrible experience in 2020 just trying to get basic questions answered. I had paid a deposit to get in line for a puppy. So far, so good. For months thereafter, however, I got no answer to my repeated voicemails and emails inquiring about puppy availability and my position on the waiting list. Total silence. I eventually threw in the towel and got my deposit back. Just know going in that communication's a weakness here.Laurie's response hereto omits the fact that her quoted September 2020 email came after the months of silence described above. And I did try contacting her via her website as well as by email and voicemail. Kentfield obviously has top-quality Labs. Just don't expect much in the way of communication, if my 2020 experience is indicative.
