Friendly and professional. They take such great care of my 1986 VW van. It's the only place I need to go for service. Got me in and out quickly.

Love Hans and Ryan. You would be foolish to take your Volkswagen to any other place.

Not Just a VW ShopHans and Ryan are very pleasant friendly guys They are also knowledgeable about VW’s. I took my 1999 Eurovan Camper there for inspection for a buyer. Ryan did the physical inspection and processed the findings through Hans. They were very thorough and did an excellent job. Hans has live a very interesting life and has many relics adorning the walls of the shop, concert posters from the 60’s and 70’s, pictures post cards and memorabilia. He has many stories and recollections to accompany them. This shop in part repair shop and part museum. Stop in if you get a chance and have some work done, but don’t forget to spend a few minute with Hans they don’t make men like him very often and unfortunately the ones here now aren’t going to be around for ever. Thanks

Honest & Knowledgeable!!! Very helpful with resolving a pesky electrical issue!!! Fast and all the work was done expertly...I had gone to another Soto repair in SEBASTOPOL and they were unable to diagnose the problem which J&W found immediately- very pleased!!!

Be careful! I wanted to give this auto repair shop a good review but I can't. I took my car here to get diagnosed for an intermittent problem I had when starting the car. Typically a mechanic will call you and tell you what repair is needed before doing the work. Instead of calling me the owner went ahead and made $300 in repairs to replace a single sensor located in a very easy to get to part of the engine. I could have replaced that sensor myself in 5 minutes. He never called me and refused to budge on the price of the repair even when I pointed out that running a diagnostic and replacing a sensor doesn't take 1.5 hours. He also topped off all my fluids in my car without my permission and charged me $21 for just that. It's unfortunate because i planned to take my VW back there for more work in a few weeks but now I can't trust them.

I just want to salute these guys. I only wish I'd discovered them earlier. I purchased my beloved beetle new in 2002 and duly had the servicing done over the years at either the dealership or another SR repair place. Several years ago when the SR place disappointed me, I decided to look up the place right here in town that I drive by all the time. Smart move! I have been a regular customer ever since. I am mostly a bike commuter so Oskar (the bug) doesn't get a lot of miles but he still has issues and needs an oil change from time to time. I appreciate Hans and Ryan's knowledge, expertise, and friendly service. They don't push repairs on me and are always honest about both snafus and possible delays in servicing. I'm glad they are in town.
