The Studio MOVED

By appointment only
From Dickinson Glass October 3rd, 2024:
“We’re moving our Studio and Showroom!
Picture a 3+ acre West Sonoma County retreat nestled amongst the rolling hills, apple trees, and vineyards of Sebastopol… a place of peace we feel incredibly grateful to have found. Over the last couple of months we have had many moments with our daughter close by as we renovate the existing horse barn into a functioning glass studio, but just as many afternoons planting our vegetable garden, swinging on our wrap-around deck, and finding ourselves in this new phase of life.
We are so very appreciative to have spent the last 3 years at The Barlow and would like to acknowledge all that being here has taught us, shaped our business, and connected us to the incredibly creatives folks in every direction.
Above all, we hope this move will bring us more time as a family, the tranquility of being surrounded by nature, and continued devotion to a craft I’ve fallen in love with over the last 10 years. We welcome you to our new location — the future of Dickinson Glass Studio and Showroom!

I went by this morning to see where the storefront was located and it is completely empty inside.

My wife & I thoroughly enjoyed a beginner class with Michael this past weekend. His studio/gallery in Sebastopol's lively Barlow complex is is neat & calm, reflecting his friendly & patient teaching style.
The session was a great reminder of the joy of the "flow" state in which one loses track of time, & of the skill & care involved in handcrafting his beautiful pieces. It's a privilege to spend time with a master artisan, & we're proud to add some of his glasses to our home. Highly recommended!

My family of 5 took a three hours class in July of 2023. It was awesome. First the studio is so well organized and well equipped. Michael started by giving a short explanation, and we started working with glass in no time. We are very pleased with the mushrooms and stirring sticks that we created. It was engaging and creative. Michael is a great teacher!

I booked a class with my husband. We were always fascinated by the process of glass to make pieces of art. Michael is a amazing artist with talent to match. We thoroughly enjoyed him showing and teaching us the fundamentals. It was so much fun and will be doing this again with him. Thank you so much Michael for bringing your art to Sonoma county

Dickinson Glass is amazing. My wife and I did a weekend sampler class there, and we had a great time learning about glass making and came away with some fun pieces we made. Highly recommended.

I was pretty nervous about working with a glass blowing torch, but by the end of our two hour session I was melting and shaping glass and having a fantastic time! Thank you Michael for the instruction!

During our trip to Sebastopol we visited the Dickinson Glass studio. Michael Dickinson warmly greeted us. His glass work is unique, delicate and very stylish. We left with a glass blown Christmas Tree. Will definitely visit the Dickinson Showroom next time we are in the area.

Michael made it very easy from start to finish. We were able to book a private class. Great email communication to set it up, chill vibe once we got there, and excellent instruction. The studio is really well equipped with a perfect setup for a small class. And we had so much fun! We will definitely do this again.

We took part in Michael's Introductory class, as a gift for my husband's birthday. The class was great! Michael explained the full process clearly - making it easy to dive right in and start manipulating glass. This was our first experience flame working and I am anxious to take another class. I highly recommend his courses. It is a fun, creative, and different experience.

Full disclosure, we've know Michael for a number of years. Today we took an introductory class, making flowers. A very fun Mother's Day activity. The instructions were excellent, Michael makes it look SO easy. Several folks in the class made real art work (while mine need a bit more practice, as I'm not an artist). All had lots of fun, and my wife want to take whatever class is 'next' that they might have. We all very much enjoyed the day - with plenty of individual support and encouragement. Like I said, we had a blast. A good family activity - or something way out of the ordinary. Can't recommend it enough. Even though I'm all thumbs, I really love what I came up with (even though it might be a new species of flower). It's something I would do again - and I'm sure with some practice and a bit of patience I could learn to have fun with. I would do this again in a second!
