I walked in for the first time yesterday and was gone in less than 30 seconds. The whole place is plastered with political propaganda and tons of printed sheets of paper about how great America is. Sir you are of european dissent on Esselen land. Reminds me why I left the Deep South. Go to the Monterey Halal Market down the street for a gyro plate- no politics and big portions of delicious food made with gloves.

I was visiting family here for Christmas, and in SJ one of my reps recommended this place. OMG!!!!! Ordered a turkey, swiss with all the fixings except pickles. The BEST sandwich I have ever had!!! I will be back for sure!

Best corner shop! They have a great selection for a convenience store, and the Bomber is a fantastic sub. Family owned, and they're really lovely people. Always kind.

Mals is a local legendary sandwich and grocery spot . If your from Seaside you know about "The Bomber" and love them . Owners are long a time local family and have done tons over the years for this community. Definitely recommend to everyone I know. That old school family deli vibe. Got to love it !

At the top of the hill on Noche Buena sits my childhood, with memoried of Garbage pail kids, Now-N-Later sticks and Grape Crush for about a buck. This place was one of the first places I took my son when he first visited, so he could get a taste of where I grew up.Every time I go home I stop by here, get a sandwich, buy a few things, and am thankful something of Seaside's past survives. The inside is as I remembered and the neighborhood people still shop there. This place is the definition of classic and working class California, and it makes happy to see it. So much of Seaside is going the way of Monterey, and so much has changed. But places like Mal's aren't just a museum, but are a living breathing connection to the past, and still serving people today. Hope this place never leaves, and that I can still get a sandwich the next time I come home to visit.

Decided to try out a sandwich since people keep raving about them, dennis was very rude and condescending towards me and other customers in the store, he prepared the sandwich with no gloves and I didn't see him wash his hands. On top of all that he got real close to me when I brought this up and his breath stunk. Sandwich was a BLT and it was OK, but probably not going back there after the antics from dennis.

The owner never washes his hands properly before making a sandwich and will handle cash often before making them. I grew up eating bombers here and it took me way too long to realize how unhygienic this place is. Never again.

Went in there to order a Bomber. The guy grabbed the roll with his bare hand. Didn't wash them or wear gloves. I immediately walked out. Disgusted! You can keep that sandwich and the germs you put on it.

If you grew up in Seaside this is the hidden gem for us locals. If I’m having a bad day I’ll go pick me up a bomber with everything on it. On another note they have some great ice cream in the back too. If you’re looking for comfort foods or just need a last minute items they usually have it. My daughter likes to stop there for a big pickle and some pizza usuallyit’s a all around vibe for sureFYIIf you going during a regular lunch time you may hit a line but it’s worth the wait

Maps is a great old fashioned neighborhood deli, (although it's not in a great neighborhood, the sandwiches are great). When I went I got their house specialty / I believe it's called a Bomber.. very good sandwich, extremely fresh bread and tasty meats snd cheeses. My wife had the regular Turkey which wax Also get good.. unless you are extremely hungry it's easy to save half for later in the day.
