“While walking the mall with the grand kids I happened to see some pillows in the window of this store. So we stepped inside to select one. Upon our entry we were greeted by a friendly team member who was quite well trained in the knowledge of these unique beds. I really only wanted a pillow but decided to let him educate me about the ins and outs of these beds. He had me lay on several different beds to test them out. I tried a number of settings and learned that if I were to invest in a bed that the number 48 would be my best sleeping position. Then he really spoiled me by showing the epitome of mattresses version. Something that not only varies the firmness, but has buttons to make the mattress either hot or cold, depending on your room temperature. Since I live in the desert, where our summer temps reach 112 almost daily, I could really appreciate that cold setting on the bed. I almost actually caved in to buy one, but the grand kids reminded me that we were there to buy a pillow and not a bed. So I put down my credit card and purchased one of the best pillows I have ever owned. I know that hot and cold bed is something I really want, and I know someday I will be sleeping on one. That salesperson really taught me a lot about mattresses.”
“What a beautiful store! Everything in there was absolutely BEAUTIFUL and well-made. You'll want to take several loops around the store just to take everything in! There's something for everyone in here, with dishes, glasses, cookware, gardening pots with actual drainage holes, and some amazing statues. Also, the prices are incredibly fair for what you're buying.”
“The Nut Hut is one of the best kept secret in Carmel! Located in the Court of Fountains, this unique boutique caters to those of us who seek unique and healthy snacks to enjoy when exploring the village. Our family was enjoying lunch at Anton & Michel's when we spied this unique find. Organic, incredibly delectable nuts and fruits are their raison d 'etre. These treats come in environmentally friendly, resealable pouches, perfect for an afternoon bimble. Our current favorites are the Cardamom Maple Cashews, Everything but the Bagel Cashews, and Black Mission Figs, but there are so many others to try! Thank you Blaine and Miguel, your shop always brings a big smile to our face. Thank you also for shipping to us, on our long absences in-between visits to this little corner of heaven.”

118 Webster St, Monterey“The owner told me that she has been living in Monterey for 25 years and plans to move to the east coast to be closer with her children and grandchildren. I wish her good fortune with the big move ?It was wonderful to shop here before the store closes. I purchased some jewlery for my mom's 60th birthday coming up. The pieces were created by an artist who lives in Northern California. Also, I purchased a matcha tea set, white porcelain tea pot, and a set of 5 tea cups for loose leaf.”
“My husband and I love Palomas Home Furnishings....one of our very favorite shops in Carmel! We have purchased five lamps from Palomas over the past couple of years, and we are very satisfied with the quality and beauty of our lamps. These lamps make both our dining room & living room look elegant. Palomas pricing is very fair for such lovely & quality items. We have received many compliments on our lamps, from both family & friends. The owner, Arnie was very helpful, and responsive to our special requests. Highly recommend this shop, and will be back to purchase other items.”
“Lovely owner and beautiful items for sale. We got not one but TWO cute Ikea lamps for our apartment - and brother's kid got a little bus toy, which they love. Please visit this shop!!!”
“Love the designers they carry. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful without the sales pressure. Not only that, it's close to the Aquarium (if you haven't been GO!) Don't forget to get the wallet sized card about the fish & seafood to avoid to preserve different species and definitely dine at the Intercontinental Hotel. It's a lovely place to stay if you're making your Monterey visit an overnight affair!!”
“Always a quick in and out for quality products that last me a while AND I know are good for my body and the local ecosystems. The products I've tried are shampoo bars, deodorant bars and toothpaste tablets. I won't buy them anywhere else after having tried these.”
“We stumbled upon this magical shop and what made it so special were Monica’s ideas about what went with our purchases, so we could curate a whole look, and her ideas for new hot spots in the Plaza to try! Thank you, Monica! It’s clear you love what you do and we thoroughly enjoyed shopping at Beachwood Home with you! We’ll be back!”
“Wonderful store - outstanding selection of quality, hard to find products that are curated with one goal on mind - to help you live a healthy life. Kristi is friendly and very knowledgeable about every single product they sell. Highly recommend this store.”

Carmel-By-The-Sea“One of my favorite shops in Carmel! We always stop by here when visiting. They have a plethora of cute nicknacks, hosting ware, kid stuff, and even some clothes. I'm usually drawn to the hosting items and charcuterie accompaniments, but have left here with a hat and a puzzle among other small items. While most of the items are on the pricier side, we can often find some cool stuff that isn't too expensive. Aside from the cute and fun items they sell, they also have free coffee and fresh baked cookies on their back patio. It's such a quaint and relaxing spot to stop and sip and snack before you continue your shopping. The employees working are always very friendly!”
“Cute family run place to not only find handmade, unique gifts but there's also a business center inside. Say hi to the store mascot, an adorable pup named Gus. The owners, Jeffrey and Randy are fun to talk too and are very knowledgeable about the village.”
“Great little shop run by a husband and wife team. The wife is an artist whose work hangs on the walls along with family members and other local artists. Lots of gift options and decor for the home. Commissions can be done as well. Beautiful shop with great people. They can ship anywhere as well.”
“I stopped in for the first time yesterday after passing it by several times. Between the Aquarium and in the same building as Intercontinental, it looks like the average tourist-y type shop and the shops inside the Intercontinental building are usually pricey. Yes, they do have the pricey pieces of art ($1400 statues), but they also have really cute hats for kids and women. I tried a few on and decided to come back soon....They have sun hats, newsboy hats with fake fur, vintage style cloche hats (vintage style, but new), and I'm sure I"m forgetting to name some. Also cute jewelry, household decor. I liked the yoga frogs and colorful glass jellyfish. They had handpainted Christmas ornaments that would be great for a White elephant or other holiday party. I'm in a wheelchair and couldn't reach some of the hats I wanted to try on so I'm coming back with someone. Didn't ask the guy behind the counter for help cause it felt awkward....shouldn't he have asked? I was the only one in the store. He did say hi, so I'd say I should have told him I couldn't reach something........ Good for shopping for yourself or gifts. Not tourist-y, and not pricey.”
“Beautiful store! A lot of amazing gifts and garden stuff. The store is very clean and aesthetically pleasing. Store owner is super outgoing and friendly. Overall a very pleasant experience and I highly recommend stopping in for gifts for yourself or others!”
“We went to Monterey last summer and Carmel Bay Company was a good store to view. Inside there were bars of soap, fashionable clothing and greeting cards with books. On the way out, I was surprised when I saw Two Bad Mice greeting cards written by Anita Jeram, illustrator of Sam McBratney's book, Guess How Much I Love You.”
“Very nice associates. Quick and easy check outs. They had a cute apron that I purchased. Not necessarily standard size. Cute name plates and actually had my daughters name”
“WOW! Amazing lanterns and so many eye-catching items in this store. Yes, it is very expensive, but we are sure their rent is high also. Definitely a lot of "eye-candy" in here! Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area!”

“One of the things I look for is what a company does when things go wrong; what’s their response. In my case there was an issue with communication and part ordering.I’m happy to report that Hearth Shop FULLY resolved my issue and ultimately made me whole. In addition the technician who worked on my wood stove was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and did a fantastic job.Great job!!”

216 Forest Ave, Pacific Grove“Tides is a wonderful place to discover beautiful seashore items in a very welcoming atmosphere. The ocean-themed merchandise is carefully selected by charming and friendly store owner, Barby Deane. This shop relocated in 2017 from Lighthouse to 216 Forest Avenue, just a few blocks away and WELL worth rediscovering. It's a perfect place to stop while enjoying an afternoon stroll through Pacific Grove. ENJOY!!”
“We had a good experience buying our amazing handmade dining table from Arhaus, Carmel. Our sales associate Tessa was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We looked for weeks for good quality table. So many stores don't have nice quality furniture . Tessa helped email us a quote, and we ended up buying a hand made table from Italy. It was even on sale which was an amazing value for this excellent quality piece. We received it within 10 days with a white glove delivery. Friendly, reliable movers. All around satisfactory experience! Saw that they are opening a new store at Stanford shopping Center. Giving Pottery Barn some competition!”
“Extremely well organized with a spacious and intuitive layout! Also the prices are insanely reasonable for very high end clothing/appliances, etc. The staff needs some free cookies, coffees, and compliments though! Keep up the hard work.”

806 Playa Ave, Sand City“The manager Brad and sales rep Zack went above and beyond this weekend for my mother. Mom wanted a couch as soon as possible and was honestly one of those customers that are harder to please. They were able to find her a nice couch that was ready the next day for us to do a pickup, These two gentlemen personally loaded this couch for us into the uhaul, making sure it was loading securely and easy for us to unloaded. As a former retail assistant manager myself, I was extremely impressed with this level of service.Zack had also helped me a little over a month ago select a sofa for my own house, we met with Zack on two occasions to play with styles and color options due to having an living room with a hard layout to style. His attention to our needs and time he spent with us is why we came back this weekend for my mothers sofa.”
“Kathryn is your go-to for all your decorating advice. She is friendly, patient, knowledgeable, professional and fun. It is a delight to work with someone who loves what she does.”
“Had a nice time checking out the store and browsing the isles. Picked up several foods, some sake and beer. Overall pleasant atmosphere and the employees were friendly.”
