This has far been the scariest experience we've had as a family. My family & I (4 total) decided to get a room here at the Gateway Lodge since we had other family members here in other rooms for the night to attend a funeral. Today, Oct 31st 2023, around 8AM someone started to knock on our door over & over. My mother called out asking who it was but no one answered back they just started to whistle. About 5 minutes later the same whistling individual knocked on the door & again my mother called out being the closest one to the door. There was never a response or anything from the person outside but they OPENED THE DOOR? We had our lock on & everything but yet they were able to open the door & tried to walk in even with my mother pushing the door shut while yelling people are inside. My father ran out of the bathroom & yelled at the guy telling him to stop trying to get it & ONLY THEN did the man stop trying to enter & claimed he was maintenance trying to check if the A/C unit was inside or outside... at 8AM? Our checkout time is 11AM...After that ordeal we called the front desk because the man was STILL outside whistling! When talking to the front desk he claimed it wasn't possible since there weren't workers other than himself with access keys but the guy was able to open the door even with our lock on? This motel doesn't have the extra bolt option such as motel6. The front desk claimed that while looking at the cameras he couldn't see anyone but when looking at the cameras NONE of them face the doors just the stairway leading up & a camera facing the cars... We told the front desk worker to come check & when he got here he started to chastise the man asking him why he was trying to open the door before 11AM. When we first arrived yesterday the front desk guy was super nice but today after everything he was super rude to us. Once we claimed we'd write a review his whole character switched... Everything just seemed so weird we filed a police report through the non-emergency line. While reading reviews & seeing it's happened in any other aspect is just super off putting... never coming back here again.

I can see the improvements that they have done. Rooms clean and comfy. Quiet property. Only feedback for the room is to add a microwave. Patricia was helpful with restaurant suggestions and very nice and welcoming.

It’s a dumpy motel with moderately clean rooms - you can hear all the plumbing and are in a bad area but if that’s your vibe then go for it.

I do not recommend this hotel. I have an emotional support animal who has all her paperwork and documentation. She helps me calm down when my emotions get flared up. I suffer from anger issues. They still wanted to charge me the "pet fee" of $30. Which was not mentioned on The website when I booked the room. I am use to considering my emotion support animal when I travel so I make sure I look for policies and rules about it. I specifically read thru the policies and rules to find any knowledge of what they take for emotion support animals, because I know the service of different from a Service Animal. I did not see any rules, so I had to text the property for that info. It was only after I canceled my reservation the information was added to their policies section. I don't think it's right people and companies are discriminating to both needs. It's suspicious that a company would hide their mistake by entering new rules after my inquiry.

WARNING! Do not book. 1909 Fremont Boulevard, Seaside, CA 93955, United States.I booked through air bnb. The listing said this was a room in a home but it was actually a bad hours room in shady location. I think they are running a SCAM. There were stains on the lumpy hard beds. No coffee maker. Not clean and smelled like dog, bleach, and cigarettes. SCARED of bed bugs and for our safety. There were cigarette ashes in the window. There was construction going on right outside room door. Hair everywhere. Disgusting. The two men at the front desk tried to change me rooms and when I said IAlready booked a room somewhere else they said air bnb would refund me $253 for the one night we booked but now they aren't responding.

I check-in on June 30-July 1, it was good at the start like they sent the text to remind you to check hours and welcome notes... And then things went wrong after the check-in..1. The room service knocked on the door 10mins after I got "IN" the room and ready for a shower. She knocked and then "OPEN THE DOOR" by herself saying: "I would like to check the cleaning and security...." .. I said no Thank you... I am already check-in2. Next day at 10am: the same lady knocked at the door and "OPEN THE DOOR BY HER OWN KEY", I screamed inside "No No I am not checked out yet"... She tried to say " I want to put the furniture in".... And I told her to put the "furniture" (A chair) outside the room and wait until I check out, please...... She did it... And there was a big chair in front of the door.. for sure....I would say there's nothing wrong that she wanted to get the job done... but "TRY TO OPEN THE DOOR WITHOUT PERMISSION OF THE GUEST" is not my expected experience....The room is quite ok, just renovated, the location is good, but the service was very bad

You get what you pay for. A bed, a coffee maker and one towel per person per visit. No chair, no table, nothing to hang a jacket. Everything you bring has to go on the floor.

Conveniently located on one of the busiest streets (Fremont). This place is within walking distance to so many businesses such as Target, Costco, Total Wine, variety of restaurants etc. The guy at the check in counter (appears to be the owner) was extremely courteous/friendly. He texted me all kinds of places in the vicinity we could visit. On the first day of the stay, we saw some obnoxious guests hanging out right outside of their room (just right down the staircase on the lower level; our room was on the 2nd floor) and were talking extremely loudly which we heard while we were in our room. Although this was during the daytime, it was quite annoying. Apparently, some guest(s) complained about it so the same guy who checked us in immediately took care of the situation. I really like this kind of responsiveness. The overall appearance of the motel (building itself) is kind of old and somewhat run-down so when you see pictures of what each room looks like inside you'd think that this might be inaccurate. Hence, this motel is unassuming on the outside. They actually did a great job renovating the rooms (at least the room (124) we were in was as accurately pictured in the photos.)Spacious room with a lot of room to place a few to several pieces of luggage. There is a mini fridge which is definitely a plus. The bathroom (bathtub, tiles) is nicely renovated as well.Several things I can mention to be realistic (and many other guests might have expected to see a typical motel room to have):-Since it's on the main street, you will hear street noise-The metal bed frame makes noise when it's shaken (even with a light toss and turn)-Wish the room was equipped with microwaveOther than that, it was a good value motel. I'm a budge traveler so this truly served my needs. I will stay here again.

I was staying in room 225 and 226 which were the incorrect rooms, I had reserved a room for a family of 5 and paid that price in advance only to arrive and have said room unavailable thus resulting in said replacement rooms. The rooms were less than adequate, towels stained as well as the beds, one room seemed to be under renovation as it lacked the amenities most rooms would normally have. The whole building also smelled of Marijuana, which was unpleasant. Overall it was an unpleasant stay, and I don't believe I will be booking here againEdit: unfortunately I didn't get pictures but we had found a roach in one of our rooms, and the towels had stains, as well as the bedsheets

Had a reservation for Car week at $200 a night. When I got there she said - no reservation - new management - now $400 a night.

I would not recommend this low budget room to anyone. The price should be changed from $200 to $50.? I checked in, put my belongings in the room, left to go sit at a diner to eat, came back and the key didn't. The attendant didn't know how to fix the issue nor did we get another key card, he had to open it with the master key, so I just stayed in for the night. The soap was so cheap and thin, it looked like they took from another motel lol. It wasn't enough to cover my full body. Out of all the times, I left my soap at home. There wasn't a fitted sheet on the bed, just a flat sheet which easily moves around. No mattress cover. The sheet had funny looking stains on it.? I asked for another sheet and was given a ripped flat sheet with paint stains.???? The microwave smelt like burnt popcorn so I smelled that all night. I couldn't wait until morning to leave. The only good thing is that a store is about 5-10 steps away. If anyone stays there, I hope your experience will be better than mine.

Poor internet is my only complaint. This is a slightly better choice than motel 6. Location is great, usually pretty quiet at night, easy in and out parking. As a paraglider pilot, this is the closest motel to the sand city launch.

I should have walked out as soon as I smelled the room. Got a headache from the strong odor immediately. Dead bugs crushed all over the walls. Starting taking photos of the bugs and found live bugs everywhere. Moved the fridge and roaches ran out... This place should be shut down.
