“My son had some car trouble while out of town and I looked up Volvo repair near Monterey. Hans Auto Repair popped up and I called to see if they could look at my son's car. They took his car right away, fixed it for a very reasonable price. If you own a Volvo you know repairs can be quite pricey. The day after the car went into the shop my son was back on the road. Thanks to everyone involved from the young lady that took the call to the mechanic who fixed the car. Great job and a great place to get your Volvo repaired.”

“Solis Auto worked on my Ford Transit and installed new brakes. They were fast and everything worked out great. I brought my Audi in for a break job, and this was tricky because of the types of brakes required. The first set squeaked and I had to bring the car back. They opened a spot for me and installed a different set of breaks at no cost. Those ended up squeaking also, so I had to bring the Audi back again. Solis did the research and found the best breaks for the vehicle. The noise finally settled down. The fact is - even with a difficult situation - they went above and beyond to ensure I was satisfied. Solis does not manufacture breaks so I know the squeaking was not their problem, but they certainly went out of their way as if it were. I appreciate their team a great deal after that transaction.”

“Really happy to find a good local shop! My work truck needed some love as I was approaching 100,000 miles.Abraham and the crew did an awesome job and got my truck fixed up and returned quickly. While they were replacing the front struts and lower ball joints they discovered that my brake calipers had come loose and the hardware was damaged, they fixed the calipers and replaced the hardware with out charging me for the labor! Abraham is very friendly and took the time to give me clear updates about what was happening. It's refreshing to work with people like Abraham and I highly recommend this shop, My truck is running the best it has in a long time thanks to the crew at Automotive Service Center of Seaside!”

“On a roadtrip and realized tires were in worse shape than I thought and needed 4 new before I headed home. Monterey Tire informed me they didn’t take appointments, so I showed up first thing in the morning Saturday. They had a quote back to me in less than 2 minutes and had 4 tires mounted and balanced and back on the car in under an hour. I was back on the road by 9am and didn’t ruin my day or weekend at all. Highly recommend these guys. Tires were name brand so of course they aren’t the cheapest out there but they have fair up front pricing, are friendly and great to work with. Would recommend to anyone.”

“Big Brand Tire & Service purchased Newton Brothers in the summer of 2025. Different sales software and a different sign on the front of the business, but most everything else is the same, with most of the staff having stayed plus some new faces.
Curren up front was welcoming and helpful and was able to get my vehicle on jacks within just a few minutes for a set of fairly priced tires.
I had a several options of tires, so selection was good, even the top tier prices were lower than I'd seen posted for nearby locations, including the popular big box option nearby.
Standard waiting area with a large, clean accessible bathroom.
Guest WiFi was really slow, but with solid 5g access on this stretch of Del Monterey, my phone's data was able to power my hotspot and I worked while I waited.
Service time was right at an hour. A steady stream of customers were all promptly and politely served. Both the front and service bay staff worked well together. I was impressed with the business and will return”
