Yes, they do close for lunch from 12:30-1:30 and yes, that should be posted on this page in big block letters! People should be aware that this is a small local branch in Old Town, so yes, there is typically only one person at the counter (occasionally a worker in back). There’s a big main branch less than two miles up Seal Beach Blvd if you’re worried about lines during the holidays (or you’re like, driving). Otherwise for those of us who are just walking over to mail a package, access a box, or send something certified mail, this place is friendly, helpful, quick, and super convenient.

Since when does the post office close from 12:30-13:30 without posting it anywhere but a paper printout on the service window? Can’t be bothered to post this info on your website? Or any other place for that matter?

I came at 12:28pm to pick up mail from my mail box. Nobody was in the store except me. “Gentleman” closed the window for lunch break literally right in front of my face without saying a word. I won’t be able to get my parcel till Monday now. “Thanks for great service!”PS. They’ve extended their lunch break. Now it’s from 12:30pm till 1:30pm.

If you ever need proof what's wrong with the US Government, visit the Seal Beach post office. The absolute worst service and operation imaginable. It would serve the community better to shut it down then have people frustrated.

Hello Stivan, I had the same problem with that rude woman with short hair. I too have been going out of my way to avoid long lines and unhelpful staff. There were two gentlemen who worked there: Gino and another I can not recall the name of. They were so helpful and polite. Sadly they have now retired, leaving that woman in their place. She barked orders at me and was very unpleasant, and was obviously annoyed when asked questions. I got the impression that helping people was probably the last thing she wanted to do.

I have been coming here for years to avoid the crowds and rudeness of the DT Long Beach PO near me. The man who retired and the staff were always helpful and polite. However I went in on Dec 6, 2021 to bring in and return packages. A woman with short brown hair told me that she could not scan my packages ( one of which needed to get in the postal system within 2 days later, which now is lost, costing me $$$. I explained to her that I didn't understand and she snapped at me to call Mayor Garcetti (?) if I didn't like it. She was rude as hell and let me stand in line for 30 minutes to just take the boxes and put them in a bin. Put up a damn sign up on the door " We don't scan" or get another person to help out this mean woman. I will never return to this PO again. This isn't the nice place it once was

They are closed for lunch from 1pm-1:30 when I attempted to buy stamps. They should post their lunch hour as apart of their non service hours so people know they can’t purchase stamps or mail boxes that need postage.

A very nice post office, especially comparing to the post office in Los Alamitos. I have been living in the old town seal beach for over a decade, never had mail issues with carrier or post office. In fact, they remembered me with warm greetings, specifically Mark who's been there forever. Sometimes you can see him cruising on his bike around Main Street and he will definitely say hi to you. Strongly recommended Usps service from this location.

I dropped my sister off at this post office because she had to mail off a few things. It's a very small neighborhood post office. There is only one window for customer service but you can do all the the typical services as any other post office. There are two 20 minute parking spaces in front of the post office but parking is still tight. The workers there are friendly and attentive. It's on Main Street so it's surrounded by many restaurants and other businesses. It's just a quaint little post office good for carrying out your smallest postal needs. I don't know if I would go there for big services due to the smallness of the place and the parking issue.

Long Lines before Christmas and one person only handling all customers, just sad!
