PLEASE BEWARE The high reviews are from 831 employees (Angela) . Marcus had done my Taxes for several years. I stayed with him due to history snd complexity of my moves. The last few years Marcus was highly disorganized and slopping in my taxes 1 day before due. I have a million dollar salary so his sloppy treatment was not due to me being a low priority client. Last year I got in my docs months early to ensure completion. Marcus met with me to review all docs and to commit to completion. All my subsequent calls and contacts to get my taxes went unanswered. I literarily begged knowing he might deliver day Taxes were do but NO GO. His admin kept trying to reassure up to the day Marcus went AWOL and disappeared. In desperation I called his ex-wife's office trying to track him down. They said many clients had called with incomplete 2020 taxes and there were legal restraining orders against Marcus. They had no idea of his location. I ended up filing late taxes with another Tax firm and paid 20k in 2020 Tax penalties. I Contemplated buying a bill board to state the same in the local area to warn others. This is NOT the guy you want preparing your tax. He is unstable!!!!

After two years (2019 & 2020) with this guy I finally made a switch. First year ok yeah Covid made everything off. Second year was a hot mess. Marcus is a mouthy fast talker. Excuses for everything. Doesn't call back, not in the office when the office says open. Tried to charge me way more then the year before. When I asked for clarification on the price and something that didn't seem right, I got a mouth full of garbage. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Just finished with a nice new guy who amended what Marcus messed up on. Don't go there!

Don't go here unless you want a terrible experience! Marcus has still not completed my 2020 taxes, will not give me my documents back, dodges calls, and lies if he actually answers the phone!

If you plan to use TAX831, Inc. please make sure anyone who prepares or assists in preparing federal tax returns for compensation has a valid Tax Preparers Identification Number (PTIN).

Was anyone able to get ahold of Marcus? We got one phone call from him a few months ago that he had a medical emergency, but since then, its been radio silence. Would really just like to go retrieve all our documents.

I too am having trouble reaching Marcus, no return calls and IRS says they never received our supposedly e-filed returns even though he cashed our check.

Has anyone been able to get hold of Marcus? He has been unresponsive for 3 weeks. I've tried calling multiple times but no answer or response. Really disappointing.
