Amy the baker in SV Safeway saved my Christmas! My father had been wanting a Black Forest cake I had completely forgotten in ordering it. When I walked in to asked about ordering, I was told that they were backed up on orders but did ask for information incase they had extras. I got a call on Christmas Eve that Amy is able to make a Black Forest cake. I surprised my dad with the cake, and he was overwhelmed with joy, as that is the only thing he wanted for Christmas. Thank you Amy!

This Safeway market is ten times better than the Safeway in Santa Cruz midtown and 20 times better than the one on Mission, West side Santa Cruz Employees are super friendly and helpful every time I’ve shopped here.Everything is organized and easy to find also check out is quick and they don’t force you to use the self check outs like the one on Mission

Aloha,I enjoyed my 1st pick up and go experience at this store. Prompted service, and most of all I appreciated that the shredded chicken was really shredded and not just broken off big chunks of chicken like other local safeways do.Mahalo,Donna ?

Had Maria at the deli make me a Turkey sandwich and she was positive, incredibly nice, and over all made my day. Great service from her!

I shop here a lot. They have a new problem of an infestation of flies in the bakery and butcher area. Board of Health?

The guy Peter was super rude to a customer. Who was in front of me trying to use a paper based gift card. But, this Peter insisted that they don’t accept printed gift card and asked the customer to call the manager tomorrow. That customer said that he used it in the same way same store a while ago and asked for the explanation. Peter just “pushed” him to pay with credit card and threatened to call the police. It’s so ridiculous to see that how Safeway can hire such a staff.

Subject: Very Unpleasant Experience at Safeway due to E-Gift Card Rejection and Threats I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with a recent experience at your store which has left me feeling frustrated and disheartened by the level of customer service provided. Regrettably, my encounter with one of your staff members Peter was far from satisfactory. Upon presenting the printed-out hard copy of my e-gift card at the checkout, I was surprised and dismayed to learn that Peter outright refused to accept the printed version, claiming that only physical gift cards or credit card payments were permissible. I explained that the e-gift card was clearly legible and valid, and I printed it out on paper (rather than shown in the phone). I told him that I had successfully used it in the same way overthere before. Despite my efforts to clarify the situation, he remained unyielding and fired me to pay in other ways. What was even more distressing was the staff member's inappropriate and uncalled-for behavior when I questioned the policy. Instead of offering assistance or attempting to find a solution, he kept saying, "call the store manager Eric tomorrow". I finally had no choice but paid with a credit card. When I was about to leave, he even threatened to call the police. This threat was not only excessive but completely unwarranted, leaving me feeling humiliated and unjustly treated. I am appalled by the lack of professionalism displayed by this staff member and the unnecessary distress I was subjected to during what should have been a straightforward transaction. It is evident that the employee was either uninformed about Safeway's policies regarding e-gift cards or chose to disregard them, which is a matter of serious concern. I strongly urge Safeway to review and reinforce its employee training procedures, emphasizing the importance of respectful and considerate customer interactions. Additionally, I implore you to reevaluate your policies regarding the acceptance of e-gift cards, ensuring that customers are provided with accurate information and are not subjected to unnecessary inconveniences. As a loyal customer who has frequented Safeway for years, this incident has tarnished my perception of your brand. I hope that prompt action will be taken to rectify this situation and prevent it from occurring in the future. I trust that Safeway takes customer feedback seriously and will take the necessary steps to address this matter appropriately. I kindly request that you respond to this complaint at your earliest convenience to acknowledge receipt and outline the steps Safeway intends to take to address and rectify the issues raised. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, Jack

It's funny to review a Safeway, but I realized today that this location is really well run. It is always clean and well stocked. I really like the fruits and vegetables section. The guy in the baseball cap is always nice to me. I have never really had a problem there.

Produce was eh. Out of about 25% of my list. Cottage cheese. Greek yogurt. Sliced meat. The store across the road is 100x better.

It's not bad. Prices are up all over america, but Winco and Costco seem to be able to be much more reasonable.

My store. Been going to the Scotts Valley Safeway for 13 years now. Rarely been disappointed. When I have been disappointed, they have never hesitated to rectify the situation. When they have had to rectify a situation, they have never hesitated to make it make it better. Great store with a great staff. This particular store and the people who maintain it not only serve the Scotts Valley community, but also have people coming all the way from the East and West Santa Cruz communities. Interesting thing about that is, both of those communities already have a Safeway store readily available. Those people actually choose to drive to Scotts Valley to shop. One of the managers, Kelly, is an absolute gift from Heaven. Scotts Valley Safeway rocks!!!And nothing has changed, since Google asked. Still awesome. Still awesome.

Safeway provides a great alternative to the overpriced grocery stores in the county. It provides affordable food for middle-class Santa Cruzans, who're fighting for their lives in this area. The Deli has a great selection of sandwiches. I met the store manager (I forgot his name), who was very willing to answer my questions. The store is clean and accessible. It also has bathrooms available for customers, which many other stores in the area don't offer anymore.

Trash near the sandwich station that's very unsanitary! And the Latina lady doesn't know how to follow a simple sandwich recipe and she didn't add the mozzarella that is on the original recipe and got into an argument that I didn't want it when she added the wrong cheese. I asked for the Italian she was about to make a turkey Come on! Seriously
