Amy the baker in SV Safeway saved my Christmas! My father had been wanting a Black Forest cake I had completely forgotten in ordering it. When I walked in to asked about ordering, I was told that they were backed up on orders but did ask for information incase they had extras. I got a call on Christmas Eve that Amy is able to make a Black Forest cake. I surprised my dad with the cake, and he was overwhelmed with joy, as that is the only thing he wanted for Christmas. Thank you Amy!

Couldn’t find anything I. Wanted. Walked out empty handed and the shopping cart seized up on me.

Subject: Very Unpleasant Experience at Safeway due to E-Gift Card Rejection and ThreatsI am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with a recent experience at your store which has left me feeling frustrated and disheartened by the level of customer service provided. Regrettably, my encounter with one of your staff members Peter was far from satisfactory.Upon presenting the printed-out hard copy of my e-gift card at the checkout, I was surprised and dismayed to learn that Peter outright refused to accept the printed version, claiming that only physical gift cards or credit card payments were permissible. I explained that the e-gift card was clearly legible and valid, and I printed it out on paper (rather than shown in the phone). I told him that I had successfully used it in the same way overthere before. Despite my efforts to clarify the situation, he remained unyielding and fired me to pay in other ways. What was even more distressing was the staff member's inappropriate and uncalled-for behavior when I questioned the policy. Instead of offering assistance or attempting to find a solution, he kept saying, "call the store manager Eric tomorrow". I finally had no choice but paid with a credit card. When I was about to leave, he even threatened to call the police. This threat was not only excessive but completely unwarranted, leaving me feeling humiliated and unjustly treated. I am appalled by the lack of professionalism displayed by this staff member and the unnecessary distress I was subjected to during what should have been a straightforward transaction. It is evident that the employee was either uninformed about Safeway's policies regarding e-gift cards or chose to disregard them, which is a matter of serious concern.I strongly urge Safeway to review and reinforce its employee training procedures, emphasizing the importance of respectful and considerate customer interactions. Additionally, I implore you to reevaluate your policies regarding the acceptance of e-gift cards, ensuring that customers are provided with accurate information and are not subjected to unnecessary inconveniences. As a loyal customer who has frequented Safeway for years, this incident has tarnished my perception of your brand. I hope that prompt action will be taken to rectify this situation and prevent it from occurring in the future. I trust that Safeway takes customer feedback seriously and will take the necessary steps to address this matter appropriately.I kindly request that you respond to this complaint at your earliest convenience to acknowledge receipt and outline the steps Safeway intends to take to address and rectify the issues raised.Thank you for your attention to this matter.Sincerely, Jack

It's funny to review a Safeway, but I realized today that this location is really well run. It is always clean and well stocked. I really like the fruits and vegetables section. The guy in the baseball cap is always nice to me. I have never really had a problem there.

Safeway provides a great alternative to the overpriced grocery stores in the county. It provides affordable food for middle-class Santa Cruzans, who're fighting for their lives in this area. The Deli has a great selection of sandwiches. I met the store manager (I forgot his name), who was very willing to answer my questions. The store is clean and accessible. It also has bathrooms available for customers, which many other stores in the area don't offer anymore.

Trash near the sandwich station that's very unsanitary! And the Latina lady doesn't know how to follow a simple sandwich recipe and she didn't add the mozzarella that is on the original recipe and got into an argument that I didn't want it when she added the wrong cheese.I asked for the Italian she was about to make a turkey Come on! Seriously

Today I was at the deli ordering. A woman , maybe deli boss, was very rude and demeaning to one of the workers. It is not acceptable to reprimand someone in front of customers. Sorry if your having a bad day, but that does not give you the right to treat someone that way! Then, on a positive note customer service was helping a very disgruntled girl. Seems like she was over reacting to a computer error, and the csr helping her was really great in staying calm and assuring her it can be resolved and was not her fault. All in 15 minutes!!!Happy Wednesday!

Who writes a review about a grocery store? Well, I am taking the time because Liana went above and beyond to help me. At 8:00 am I went to the store to get some flower bouquets for a graduation. Nob hill had a sorry selection of wilted bouquets. Safeway had a great selection. I asked for help to create bouquets. The floral assistant was not at work yet. The staff was so kind to call for help. Liana came out to pinch hit and was so helpful willing to create the bouquets for me as I was in a hurry. They were beautiful. She was kind and willing to help. Thank you Liana!

I don't see why people feel icky about this Safeway. It's probably one of the best in Santa Cruz County. First reason is this store seems to be a hangout among locals in the area. When I come here there is always some nice residents who are willing to talk with me here. Staff members here including the manager are very friendly, always willing to talk to you about anything. This store has the small town charm of piggly wiggly as you see in the East Coast. Everyone is happy and mellow. This store is a bit cramped but it looks like it's well maintained and very clean. Love the cookies from this store for some reason. IDK why but they were good. This place makes a good pit stop if you want to grab some food before going to Santa Cruz beaches. Drawback: Donuts are a bit smaller than the Safeway near my flat.

Terrible inventory and always out of stock on key items I buy.... I'm always setting myself up for a waste of time coming here.... This is the 2nd worst Safeway I've ever been to ( #1 being Morrissey Blvd Safeway). Don't waste your time coming here.... Deli counter is staffed with miserable un trained people and the cashier's act like zombies.... Avoid!

Scotts valley safeway is one the good safeways in the area. Service is good and friendly and usually not a long wait. Store is clean and organized unlike the nearby safeway.

Everyone here is so friendly! Kellie the manager always greets me and my kids with a smile and has helped me several times. Pepe is the sweetest and fastest at everything. Glad this is our neighborhood store.

Go Here for Covid-19! (Unsafeway) Yup this is the place with the long line to that single Checker. Have you ever wondered why they just have a single checker or if you're lucky 2 checkers at the most crowed times? Or that they have a section with Self-Checking Machines... but it's closed while customers are lining up to the back of the store. This is the way people get sick, by being stacked-up in long lines. Like Shingles, Safeway Doesn't Care.
