A relaxing day.Initially parking seemed like it was going to be a problem but there was plenty of space further in, away from the main parking area (which was full).

Coming to the family cabin here is one of our favorite things to do. The kids have a great time at the park or participating in other camp activities. There's always something to do or its also a great chance to do nothing.

Don’t get me wrong, I had fun visiting here as a kid, but there were some things I wish were different.Firstly, we didn’t get enough to do during flat on bunk time. We were supposed to just sit.On our beds. For half an hour.It was the perfect time for everyone to take a well-needed shower, or play together. I think I can speak for my cabin-mates saying that I didn’t just want to be still and quiet the whole time.Secondly, the kids didn’t get fun privileges like the adults did. When my class and I were on the tour, we were told to ‘point at the vending machines and say nooooooo. Point at the ice machines and say nooooooo. Also, if someone told you to being money for a gift shop, we don’t have that anymore so I have no idea why anybody told you we did.’ After sitting in a bus for 5 hours and being really excited to finally be here, my spirits were a bit broken. Kids deserve a soda, or ice water, or even a little cheap knickknack to remember this place. Also, they should bring back the banana slug club shirts.Thirdly, tying into my first comment, the kids didn’t get enough time in their cabins. We had to wake up at 7, mentally prepare ourselves for the day, (maybe socialize a bit), and get ourselves and everything ready by 7:45. I have a hard time getting alllll ready that fast, and it’s even harder trying to manage that time with 2-3 other people needing to do the same things at the same time. Then we had to run for breakfast. The only other time we could go into our cabins before bedtime was flat on bunk time, and again, we weren’t allowed to do much. (My cabin-mates and I still quietly talked and played.) By the time we were back in our rooms before bed, it was ten minutes before lights out. I don’t have enough time to put all my stuff away, get all ready for bed, and talk a little more before 10:00, let alone considering a few other people needed to do all that, too. We should get back at latest by 9:30 in my opinion. Also, the showers were cold.Despite all of that, I enjoyed it here. The food was good, the classes were fun, the naturalists were nice, and rec. time had lots to do. (I wish we could visit our cabins, though.) I can say I pretty much enjoyed my time here.A few tips, bring extra blankets and clothes.

Our Women's Retreat was held there. It is easily accessible from highway 17 near Santa Cruz and well worth the drive. Beautiful well maintained grounds and buildings. Rooms were immaculate and well appointed. Food was excellent. Speakers were wonderful. Highly recommend!

Can you play the disc golf course for free without purchasing a camp stay? It’s great for beginners and there’s no beginner courses in the area. Got “kicked” out with my kid by a not very friendly individual when I’m just trying to teach him the sport

Seemed like a great place. Church group was having their yearly meeting there. Lots of lawn, happy people.

For being a Christian camp they have absolutely no regard for their neighbors quiet enjoyment. I purchased a home across the street and up the hill from this camp and I can hear loud music, screaming, sermons and everything else they want the neighborhood to hear. Absolutely no concern at 9:30 at night on a Tuesday for anyone who pays to live away from the city and it’s noise and have chosen the area to find tranquility. A camper told me that the counselors “encourage us to make a lot of noise so that the neighbors will hear and want to join in”. Absolutely disgusting the lack of care from this facility. I don’t care how much fun your patrons are having you don’t do it at the constant expense of your neighbors. They don’t deserve even the one star but it doesn’t leave you much choice.
