Was in scotts valley on vacation, and was worried my tires were bald and needed replacing. Got a quote from this shop, but then realized the work would take a couple hours and needed to go to dinner. I asked for his honest opinion on how badly I needed replacement. He easily could have lied to me and said "right away" to make the money, but let me know i could go another month or 2. Appreciate that this is an honest shop and not just trying to lie and scam to get money.

Good selection of tires. Manager was very helpful and took his time helping find the right set of tires for my truck. Performed the tire replacement and alignment. Ready to pick up on time. Great experience!

I should of read more recent reviews. This shop had a 4.5 rating but looks like they have some recent issues. I was quoted over the phone for a new set of tires. When I arrived the girl added an additional $250 to the agreement and claimed she “didn’t have the tires she quoted me in stock”. Asked them to match the price because I drove all the way down there based off the original price she laughed at me, then one of the technicians laughed as well.
This people are dishonest and shouldn’t be trying to hustle people in Scotts Valley.

Writing this review with the caveat that my rating may change based on how Jennifer and the team at Lloyds handle the situation from here.
I brought my truck to Lloyds with the ask to have them use the Road Force balancing process on a set of aftermarket wheels and tires that didn’t balance well with the standard process at a different shop.
After talking with Jennifer and the techs, they agreed to do the Road Force balancing process which takes a little longer, but I agreed to pay for the extra time.
All seemed fine until I went to pick my truck up when it was done. Jennifer told me it went good and proceeded to bill me for the work. After I paid, she gave me the key, I went to leave, but decided to take a look at each wheel….
Upon inspecting their work, I noticed one wheel smelled like fresh spray paint (these were brand new purchased last weekend). I felt the wheel and without a doubt it has a fresh coat of flat black spray paint over two large gashes in the powder coat finish. I rubbed the paint and it was sticky and rubbed of as if it were brand new paint.
After looking more it was very obvious the technician damaged the wheel and tried to cover it up in the most ghetto way possible (he spray painted my $400 wheel), even got overspray on the tire. The manager either didn’t know about this or also tried to hide it from me.
I pointed this out to Jennifer and two other technicians (Rob and Kinec) who agreed it was freshly spray painted. They apologized and agreed purchase me a new wheel to replace.
It gets worse…. I go across the street to meet my family for dinner, after explaining the situation to them they take a closer look at all my wheels and find another wheel was damaged (less noticeable but also a large chip out of the powder coat), so now they need to replace 2 wheels.
Even further, I get home and notice one wheel still has the wheel weights from the old shop that originally balanced it, it wasn’t aired up to 50 psi like the other three tires (I had them all set to 45), and it was the only one who’s lug nuts were torqued to spec (I previously torqued them). Which means, they didn’t even take this wheel off the truck and balance even though they charged me for it.
And lastly, looking at another wheel, one of the weights they put on was falling off because they tech didn’t clean the ripped foam from the old weights off, meaning there could have been other weights that fell off and that tire is no longer balanced.
So, I’m absolutely blown away by all of this and this has by far been the worst experience I’ve had in my life with any automotive shop. They charged me $280, owe me a refund for one tire for the work they didn’t do, another refund for the wheel from weights falling off, and caused $900 worth of damage (two Method 705 wheels)
I’m happy to raise my review rating if they are able to remedy these issues, but until then I’m going through every effort to expose how dishonest, unprofessional, and untrained this shop and the technician there is.
8/5 update:
Jennifer spoke with the regional manager and they said they can only repair the wheels. This is not an option however as it voids the original manufacturers warranty (Method Wheels) on the wheel finish. I communicated that with her and am awaiting a call back from the regional manager.

I did a walk in smog, and they had my car finished up in a couple of hours. The folks there were friendly and made this easy. Will gladly become a return customer.

This is the last place I will ever buy tires from again!! I bought tires last year, the most expensive tires in the county cause, I made an appt online and when I arrived was rudely told they do not make online appt. Have not been able to have my tires rotated and balanced because they told me when I called they do not make appt for that. I went one day, they were busy, went again they wanted me to leave my car for hours, and then told me they could make an appt. Which is you make appt or NOT! I will pay someone to rotate my tires, rather than go back here. This is what happens when you try to support local business

After patching a tire and remounting the tire rotated 150 degrees, they tried to send me off without rebalancing. The front desk claimed they always rebalance. The techs in the back said they never rebalance. This place has gone down the drain since they were acquired by a big corporation called Tire Choice. This is not a local company. There are plenty of good local options.

Worst tire shop in Santa Cruz County!! I normally would never go to a Lloyd's tires. They have always had terrible customers service and overcharged for their labor. I recently moved across the street from the Scotts Valley Dr. location. I had a nail in my tire and 3 children in a stroller so I really didn't have another option but Lloyds. I figured I'd give them a chance since I've never been to this location and the one a had a bad experience at before was Downtown Santa Cruz. I stopped and asked if they could remove the nail and patch the tire. I paid a $35 deposit. After I was told that my tire tread was too low and the service couldn't be done. They guy at the desk said he refunded me but I still haven't received the $35 back over 2 months later. Anyways I came back the next day and spent over $1,900 on new tires and brakes. That will NEVER happen again. I've tried reaching out to the shop regarding my refund for the tire patch but they say they have no record. They have been super mean to me and refused to help any further. One girl gave me the number to a regional or corporate manager who was so rude to me. I tried explaining to him the issue but kept getting talked to in a hostile and condescending tone. It got to the point that I was being belittled by the manager for trying to get my $35 back. I was treated like some type of scammer or lyer. Mind you I just spent over $1,900. If this is how they show appreciation to customers then they won't have my business. I will never recommend them to anyone. Big-O-Tire is much more professional and polite. They actually care about customers and their families. They won't treat you like garbage over $35. And actually they offer tire patches FREE as long as your tread is good. The next time I need to spend $1,900 on brakes and tires I will drive on a rim to Big-O before crossing the street and going to Lloyd's ever again.
Update: it's been about 3 weeks since reaching out to Monroe corporate customers service. I was told to send pictures of my bank statements showing the faulty transaction, which I did. After hearing nothing back, I followed up with them again and was told that they would be reviewing the matter that day and reaching back out too me. I've never heard back. Totally a lack of customer appreciation. I guess $35 is worth losing good business over. Like I said next time I need to spend $1,900 on new tires and brakes. I will drive on a rim before going to Lloyd's ever again. They had no problem finding that transaction I'm their system. BS. They treat me like I'm some kind of scammer... Do scammers spend $1,900 places they are scamming? NO, they don't!

Took my car here for a maintenance code on my Honda. Part of the code included an oil change and tire rotation, but it also specified things like air filters, spark plugs, etc.
They took the car in and said they would do the oil change first, then inspect and let me know what else needed to be done.
I checked in by phone every 3 hours for 9 hours, sitting in a coffee shop and each time they told me the oil change would be just a little bit longer.
Finally I came back at their closing time to get my keys and take my car back.
They cleared the maintenance code without doing any work other than the oil change, didn’t tell me the results of an inspection, didn’t schedule me for more work.
Suffice to say I had to go to another place the next day to get actual service.

I called in to make an appointment on Saturday as was told it was first come first serve. I arrive at opening time to find out they do take appointments and I’d have to come back later to drop my car off. Still took my car in but was frustrating that I couldn’t make an appointment.
