Sutter has excellent hospice care. My Mother was taking care by a very kind hearted and caring Nurse. I can’t speak enough of how well my mother was treated and care for in her final days. The comfort it provided for my family during this time meant a lot.

Hospice of the Valley bereavement team was so compassionate, responsive when my family and I needed help after the sudden loss of my spouse. I was able to schedule grief counseling practically immediately when I called to ask for help. Over time, the bereavement team organized support groups, various activities to help the bereaved. There are not enough words to express my appreciation for HOV's bereavement team's efforts to help grieving families like mine.

Hospice Of The Valley took care of my wife at the end stage of her passing. Of course, the last few days were stressful. But hospice was available round the clock and made sure she was comfortable and in no pain. If you have to choose two words that describe the hospice team they would be "compassionate" and "professional".

I would not recommend Hospice of the Valley for any of your family members. We used this hospice for a parent of mine and while they were okay in the beginning, they got worse over time. It is clear they only care about your money, not keeping the patient comfortable and listening to the needs of the family members. My parent's nurses were very unengaged and would not visit us consistently enough, often neglecting the weekly visits. The nurse would only prioritize recertification visits, because we were on private insurance and they wanted to charge as much as possible to the insurance. Supplies were never delivered on time, we had to ask the nurse several times to deliver one item. The item never came, despite the nurse assuring us it was ordered. We ended up taking things into our own hands and ordering the item on Amazon. It should never get to that point. Additionally, when my parent needed a Foley catheter, the nurses used the wrong type without telling us. They inserted the catheter wrong, giving my parent a likely case of sepsis. Instead of acknowledging this, they keep covering it up, saying it was natural my parent was getting worse and not due to their own mistakes. They forced us to use an ambulance to visit the ER, even though the whole point of being in hospice is avoiding hospital visits. My parent ended up passing away, due to this likely case of sepsis and they did not accept any wrongdoing. Instead they didn't send any nurses when we called for them, delayed for hours, and did not provide much support on my parent's last day. One nurse did not come on time, and when we called to inquire her ETA since it was an emergency situation, she said she was busy with a "Spanish speaking family." That is fine but why is that an excuse to why our family was ignored? Do only Spanish speaking patients get preference? Why did they not send another nurse immediately instead? Nobody contacted us for a full week after my parent's death. A whole WEEK later, they called and asked us if we needed any social workers or grief counselors. At that point it was way too late. Instead, the very day after my parent's death, when we were still grieving, they send someone to pick up all the hospice equipment. Overall, I am disappointed at the terrible treatment we received close to, and following my parent's death.

Run from them! All they do is manipulate the patient and don't care about the families. They make a plan and you think things are in place and then they change the plan with no discussion and don't care. There is zero respect for the patient or family.

My father received care from the Hospice of the Valley for the last 3 months of his life. Prandy (the nurse), Sarah (the social worker) and Consuelo (bath assistant) brought my father a lot of smiles and happiness. We are truly grateful for the excellent.staff and their true dedication to their jobs that I am sure are far from easy.

We could not have asked for a better care team for our beloved grandpa. All the visiting clinicians, from nurses, social workers, chaplains and aides were all professional and very kind. With no medical training, we were not sure what to expect but the team was so patient and showed us how to comfort grandpa during his final days. They were always so quick to respond to our urgent requests and never rushed through a visit and treated our grandpa like family. Also, all the necessary equipment were delivered promptly and were set up properly within hours. I would highly recommend Hospice of the Valley team to anyone who needs outstanding hospice care. <3

If I could give this company zero starts I would. My Dad is on hospice with this agency and when I requested a nurse to come out to help us because he was in crisis, having so much pain without any relief from his medication, I was told by the on-call nurse it would be 90 minutes before someone would come. It is has been 2 and half hours and still no one is here! This is not the first time we have requested a nurse only to be told that it would be hours before anyone could come. We have requested a medication re-evaluation only to be told to keep trying the same medication over and over again that isn’t helping, just for one more day. Except that was two days ago and still no changes to alleviate his pain from his terminal cancer. I have never met a more unprofessional or uncaring professional agency in my life. If you truly value your loved one’s comfort at the end of their life, don’t hire this agency because they truly couldn’t care less. Their patients are just a number and source of income.

Laura, I did report my experience. No action was taken. I was and still am literally traumatized by your staff. I just hope nobody else ever has to suffer through an experience like my own. No one should ever go through what we did.
