Wonderful store that has all my gardening needs! Insect repellent, fertilizer, soil, etc. Super friendly staff that is away willing to help. I also got my Stanley there which has become a staple in my hydration routine!

Made an online purchase on 4th of July to fix my broken A/C. Website said it would be "available in 15 minutes". Turned out the store was closed for the holiday, so I spent the day in sweltering heat with no A/C. The next morning when I picked up the part, the owner could have said " I'm sorry for your inconvenience, we'll try to make sure the website is accurate in the future." But no, instead he made it my fault for not having the "common sense" to know that the website was giving me false info.
Terrible customer service, crowded chaotically organized store. Go to Rural Supply Hardware or Los Gatos Ace. They are both excellent stores.

I needed a run capacitor for an air conditioner and called ahead to make sure that they had it in stock. The phone call was handled friendly and efficiently. When I arrived, the run capacitor was located quickly and I was treated very well. Very few hardware stores carry run capacitors and I was happy to pick one up. I will shop Saratoga Hardware again.

It's a nice small shop that has all the handyman essentials, but this place feels like a liquor shop from a 3rd world country upon entering.
Once you enter, there's security footage in front of you, chicks to the right, pies to the left.
I read online that Ace Hardware programs car keys. I came with my own key to have programmed and was told I needed to buy a car key from Ace Hardware to have it programmed. They asked for $280. Far from the $70-100 price range mentioned by other Ace Hardwares online to have mine programmed. I ended up going to a local locksmith that programmed it for $130.
I'm still scratching my head over why they chose to lose business. Ace Hardware has the device to program the key and it costs them nothing other than 10 mins of labor for ~$100 of pure profit. =/ Store policies? Sir, this store has live chicks and sells pies. Don't tell me about Ace Hardware policies.
On a positive note, I'm sure the workers are knowledgeable here and can help with home fixes.

Incredible to find a place like this in today’s no-service age. Friendly staff that says hello when you walk in and asks if you need help finding something, and if you are not sure what you need for a project or repair, they actually listen and make thoughtful suggestions.They also have experts in their paint department that can custom match from almost any scrap of color you bring in. And if they don’t have the item you need in stock, they can custom order without taking a credit card and have it delivered in a few days. Absolutely AMAZING customer service. No more dread going to those “big box” stores, and very conveniently located with super-easy parking.
