Bought a transmission from Chuck that he said was in very good shape . Turned out to be nothing more than a core. I am not a transmission guy. He opened the side cover to verify that it was a certain transmission. Him being a transmission would definitely notice that the forks were shot,, first, second and third gear were toast. I call him out on it after another shop looks at it and he tells me I'm sh-- out of luck. I bought a used transmission. This guy is a con artist and will take your moneyService: Transmission

This man is hard up for money and do you bad. Bought a transmission from Chuck. He said this was a very good transmission. I am not a transmission guy so I had him open the side cover to verify it was a certain model at that time he would immediately know the transmission was no good but he didn't bother telling me 1st, 2nd , 3rd gear were shot. The forks , bearing retainer and synchros were toast. Before installing I had another shop look over it. Thank God I did. I called him to tell him and he told me I was S.O.L. That I could pay him to go thru it. This man is awful.

I took my car to this shop because I was having some issues with the transmission slipping and not shifting correctly. They told me they were backed up with jobs and it would be at least a few days before they could even look at my car to see what the problem was. The next day I received a phone call from Chuck who told me they found the problem and could have my car fixed and ready to pick up the following day. When I arrived, Chuck had just finished my car and was getting ready to test drive. He invited me to come along on the test drive. Everything worked great! When I received the bill it was far less than I was expecting to pay. I found Chuck to be very honest and worth every penny. Thank you Performance Transmissions.

Chuck at Performance Transmissions is truly one of the best.I ordered a custom C-6 that I bet 90% of other shops in town couldn’t even wrap their heads around. When I had a questions he took his time to explain everything. We had a bit of confusion about function, he listed and made what I wanted. He was fair on price and gave me a very detailed invoice. I will bring all my transmission needs here. You should too.

These negative reviews ? all true ! This guy is a con man and thief.My $800 clutch job turned into $1300.I was FORCED to pay cash which was never agreed upon.I paid,started my truck and it sounds like something is really messed up.Drove it,clutch slips.I go talk to Chuck and he says he'll cover it under warranty but i do need to rebuild the transmission.Keep in mind i never left his shop.This was a test drive on the street in front of his place.The BS starts,he'll warranty the work but he must rebuild the tranny.One of his guys starts telling me the starter is bad,master cylinder is bad.I drove this truck to his shop with a bearing noise,that was the only symptom.Red flag ! That tranny shifted absolutely fine,it didn't need a rebuild.This guy was just trying to make up for what he was about to lose on warranty work.He installed the cheapest parts he could find after we discussed using quality parts even if it cost more.He had me fill out the invoice,just the name and address part.There was a blank invoice with my signature on it,red flag again.I decided to cut my losses and took it somewhere else.This other shop was informed of my problem,replaced the cheap stuff with factory parts and even put the factory flywheel back on that Chuck claimed was shot ! $950 for the whole job by this other mechanic.Everything now works great,the tranny didn't need a rebuild and it's all good.Lesson learned.A complaint was filed with the BAR but unless i pursue it further nothing will be done about it.Just stay away from this place.Seriously.I'm being nice here,i'd like to say a lot more but won't.
