While Davey from the seminal Santee Punk Rock band 'Short Lived' no longer loves on the roof, Food 4 Less has managed to maintain a steady commercial presence in Santee, providing a needed oasis of food resources in an otherwise logistically challenged suburb at risk of becoming another middle class California food desert. I give it five stars for being OG.

Food 4 less has everything we need at a lower cost than other supermarkets. We shop here weekly since 1997 to buy our groceries. Can't find a better place than this. Definitely would recommend to all.

The young cashier on duty today seemed quite unpleasant, as though she found customers to be a bother. With only 2 lanes open, perhaps the poor thing was exhausted, but it's frustrating to see her take out her frustrations on customers who have also had long weeks.

Shopping late at night gives you the store almost to yourself if you don't mind some display lights being turned off or that you will wait a little longer at checkout with only one cashier open. I recommend going at least 2 hours before closing so the staff is not prevented from shutting down at the schedule closing time. They have families to go home to as well and will probably have to be back there first thing the next day.

Been going to this Food 4 Less for years now and it’s never disappointed. The selection is always very good, the place is well stocked, and there are even bags of chips near the front that I usually get one of when I come in. Call it a snack, aye? Anywho, I would always recommend the place for anyone looking for a good grocery store in Santee.
