Used to be a long-time customer but was recently quoted an amount so ridiculous that I had to shop around. So, I did and got the work done for $390. Wayne & Sons quoted me $2300 for the same job. The quote was ONLY for the LABOR. All the parts were pre purchased by me prior to the installation.
I thought they were honest mechanics, and they took advantage of me. My honest suggestion is to go somewhere else.

If Money is No Object…
It pains me to write this review but after a week of thinking about it I just have to say something.
Last month my new (9,000+/- miles) engine from Wayne & Sons failed smog so I brought it back to them for help. They inspected it and told me I had a bad radiator cap and a hole in my muffler so I okayed those repairs and an oil change as I was going to get a new muffler anyway and had looked up muffler prices on Amazon ($44-$100). I was told that all the relevant valves that deal with emission gasses were ok.
Van fails smog again and I am told now that The EGR valve, its controlling solenoid and throttle position sensor are bad and need to be replaced. This is done and the van passes smog with flying colors. I am expecting, maybe, a $1,000 bill. I almost fainted when the bill was $1,948.71!
I looked up the prices on the emissions parts and found that they charged me roughly twice the retail price, which I suppose is standard practice and I have no idea how long it takes to replace those parts, so I really have no grounds to be upset with the smog repairs, but…
The muffler was at least 2 times what I expected. A muffler should not cost $550.
The $152.88 oil change was roughly 2 times what I was quoted at Valley Oil Change the next day.
And then there was the final insult, $122.50 LABOR to replace the radiator cap!!
Lessons learned:
Don’t get your oil changed at Wayne & Son’s.
Don’t let them take your vehicle to outside vendors.
Look for a competent mechanic that doesn’t charge $122.50 to put in a new radiator cap.
But, if money is no object, Wayne & Sons is a competent company whose employees are friendly, knowledgeable, and communicative. The shop is clean, organized, and a real lifesaver if the engine in your van blows up in Red Bluff and you don’t want to spend twice the $15,000 I spent at Wayne & Son’s almost 3 years ago for a new engine, transmission, and rebuilt air conditioning unit for a replacement vehicle.

They are reliable and very affordable. We have 3 'senior' cars that they work have been working on for us and they are a fraction of what the dealer cost and the work is better. They take the time to explain what the needs are and don't pad at all. Highly recommend them. They are also very busy with a variety of older cars (out of warranty on) which is always a good sign at a car repair shop too.

Very very pleased with the service I received from Wayne and Sons Automotive. Beautiful shop, so organized and clean…you could eat off the floor! Everyone there was really nice. Felt like all on the very much up and up, which for a single woman getting car repaired, is not always the case. Cant say enough good things about this place and people who work there.
The total came in below their original estimate. Wow. They did everything I asked. Contacted me to get authorization for a change. Tested the new brakes they installed before returning the car to me.??????☺️☺️☺️

Spent $1500 on a breathalyzer thing for the ignition, then in week my car got towed when I wasn't home and Santa Rosa Police have no idea when it went to another yard.
