We love this vet office. Everyone is kind and timely even with how busy they are. Our animals feel safe coming here which is the most important part!

I’m new to the area and was looking for a veterinarian to care for my dog. Santa Rosa Veterinary Hospital was able to schedule an appointment quickly. Everyone at the clinic is kind and knowledgeable; I appreciate the care and compassion they provided!

I've taken both of my kitties to this hospital. The folks are considerate and professional. They're gentle, skilled and knowledgeable with the cats. Both cats have had medical problems, one involving surgery, and both were resolved after treatment.

We’re been using Santa Rosa Vet Hospital for five years and have always had good experiences with Dr Jan, the technicians and office staff. This visit was a basic technician visit for Olive and it was very good again.

Amazing. The staff is super kind and accommodating. Despite my cat's apprehensive and spicy nature, they're always patient and flexible with her which means so much. She's my first cat, and they've been so helpful as I navigate raising a cat for the first time. I highly recommend them.

We recently moved to the area from a smaller city. We were concerned about finding good care for our 2 parrots, because most vets don't treat parrots. We were thrilled to find such caring and excellent care for Merlin and Lola. The staff, the vet and the tech were all wonderful and the price was more reasonable than where we came from. I highly recommrnd Santa Rosa Veterinary Hospital.

I have a very nervous and anxious cat, first visit went well. The following after they told me to give him meds to sedate him to get some blood work done they told me it was impossible to do so and then sent me home with even more meds to give him next time. I was concerned since I had already had to put him through a second unnecessary visit followed by another. They changed doctors on me abruptly, the second one who seen him tried to tell me he needed a full list of things including a tooth extraction, and that if he wasn’t compliant next time that he would need anesthesia which would require even more money. The third and last time I went in, again they said they couldn’t do the blood work. At this point I was mad and frustrated my poor nervous and anxious cat had to be taken in multiple times with nothing done. I saw this as a means to force me to pay an exorbitant amount of money because they couldn’t handle a scared animal. It is so appalling for a veterinary clinic to try to force me to put my pet through this as a means to pressure me into paying thousands of dollars for unnecessary things.

I was worried about not having a vet near me that would see an exotic animal but they do! Very professional and solid advice ! I did what was recommended and my snake shed in one whole skin. I was also given some other paper work to take home which was helpful since I was a beginner trying to take care of an inherited snake.

I've been a loyal customer since 1993, having trusted Dr. Blumberg and Dr. Krome with more than a few cats, dogs, birds, turtles over those years. I am forever grateful for Dr. Blumberg's kindness toward my animals and for letting me make monthly payments to save a little terrier with diabetes that had been misdiagnosed and untreated by two other local vets. I was broke by the time I brought her to see Dr. Blumberg and instead of recommending I but her down, he offered to keep her for two or so weeks and stabilize her. She lived another 4 years and enjoyed her life. He will be one of my personal heroes for many acts of compassion. Dr. Krome was different but equally wonderful. Like Dr. Blumberg, he took time to explain medical issues and treatment options to me and helped me become a better guardian to my animals. Both of those doctors took time to get to know the animals and approached me with the assumption that I wanted the best for my pets and was capable of making good choices for their wellbeing. My last interaction with this office involved medications for an ailing older dog with heart failure. I suspect Dr. Krome had been too lax in monitoring the meds for my dog...and I may have been in need of some more information about how to best manage my dog's symptoms. When Dr. Jan took over the office when Dr. Krome retired, she was alarmed at the meds being given to my dog and discontinued the prescriptions as they had been written. I felt as if I rubbed her the wrong way with any question or message I sent to her and our communication broke down rapidly. Conversations were brief and any welcome I used to feel when coming to the office was changed...I wondered if my file had been flagged as "problem customer." My dog's condition deteriorated within a few months. Dr. Jan advised I put him down fairly early in our conversations and eventually his health declined to the point where he stopped eating and it was time to say goodbye. Even though I believe she squeezed in the appointment to put him down in the middle of a busy day, she seemed irritable and in a hurry to see him off and see me gone. My dog deserved better than that. Any suggestions I could offer would be to increase compassion for both the animals and the people who come to the office in search of support/help. Not every interaction needs to be perfect to maintain trust and a good relationship between doctor and those they serve. I'm pretty sure the current doctor didn't want my business, and so I have moved on. I hope that Dr. Jan realizes that she is just a part of the picture and not the ultimate judge of what's best for the animals she treats...and to give the pet owners due credit for being more in tune with their pets' needs and able to make decisions based on what they see as quality of life. There's more to good doctoring than science and medical training.

I had an excellent experience at Santa Rosa Veterinarian Hospital when my outdoor cat, Hobo, suffered an abdominal laceration. The team was prompt and compassionate, providing immediate surgery and thorough aftercare, including a special cat carrier and detailed instructions for Hobo’s recovery. Their kindness extended to patient support when I needed extra advice about Hobo’s e-cone and medication. It’s heartwarming to see such dedicated care and love for animals at this clinic. Many thanks to Dr. Jan and staff. Highly recommended.
