I've used a few vets in Santa Rosa over the decades. I've found Redwood Veterinary Clinic to be kind and caring of my time and my dogs, whom I cherish. They are affordable, and I trust them completely. They will vaccinate without charging for an office visit if my dogs have had a visit in the last year.

I had stopped going to this place after 20 years of being a client of theirs, because their front end people were so Incredibly? rude. Especially during the pandemic, however, I loved the vet.Her name is doctor Yonis.. So I decided to take my cat back there. And I'm so glad that I did, because they've got all new front end with the exception of one woman who's been there for a long time, who's always been very kind. They're front desk.People now are so kind and pleasant now and
I would highly recommend going there now. Especially to the vet that I see, she's great.

The male receptionist continually talked to me in a condescending and passive aggressive tone every time I had to interact with him. He is my biggest grievance. The Dr. we had genieunly seemed like he wanted to help my cat so they're really just getting stars for him. When I called back after getting unfortunate news about my pet, wondering if there were over the counter options in case she was in pain, they talked to me like I was crazy for wanting to help her. They then prescribed her medicine, which felt more like a way to brush us off. In short, not going back.

AVOID AT ALL COST - Dr. Hoskins along with Dr. Espinoza killed my dog 7/21/24 Dr. Espinoza along with supposed trained emergency techs failed to recognize and treat my dog for respiratory distress. We live over 1.5 hrs in the hills from the vet, Smokey needed stitches and he had gotten worked up in the Car on the long drive down….. They left my dog without any oxygen therapy or any other standard of care that is taken when a dog is in respiratory distress. When Dr. Hoskins took over care from the ER shift he also failed to recognize respiratory distress and insisted he needed airway surgery, he never spoke to us once despite our 7 attempts to reach him (we have call logs) I told the staff he needed to speak to us before surgery b/c we did not feel he needed airway surgery. Dr. Hoskins never called us once, not before surgery, not after surgery, not when my dog died. I called at 7pm thinking nothing had been done for my dog b/c I never got a call from the doctor to explain anything, to go over concerns(there were a lot) to get Smokey’s patient history…. At 7pm with no phone call before or after I’m told his surgery’s were all done, he was doing great (lies) and can go home the following morning……hours later we get a frantic call from Dr. Espinoza stating Smokey was swallowing too much blood from his airway surgery and was swelling close (his airway) we gave life saving permission…less than an hour later he’s dead. The ball was seriously dropped on Smokey’s standard of care. He was never properly treated he was given a surgery he didn’t need, a surgery that he wasn’t brought there for and that surgery killed him. He left a healthy dog who needed stitches and died from negligence and greed. I still have no idea what was done by Dr. Hoskins to Smokey’s airway I never got a call before or after explaining how it went what he did to his airway surgically, I just know that’s what killed him. I never got a call from a technician, receptionist or anyone after surgery. The most telling was I never got a call after he died from Dr. Hoskins and when we called to talk to him he refused our call. They didn’t just kill our dog they took a member of our family.

Redwood Veterinary Clinic is fantastic! They explain issues and procedures more in depth than other places, don't pad their pockets with unnecessary work, are kind to pets *and* people, and are typically less expensive than most other places in the area. I can't recommend them highly enough! Thank you RVC for keeping animal medical care accessible. You guys are earth angels!

I’m new to this veterinary clinic and I have nothing but good things to say about them. The kindness, understanding that I had time constraints, going above and beyond, affordability, calling me a couple times through my pups procedure letting me know what they were up against and getting my okay in advance, expedited service. As many times as I’ve been to Costco, I’ve never noticed the building. Grateful I had a client that needed me to take her there, to begin with.

I don’t usually write reviews. But here goes;
I scheduled an appointment at Redwood Veterinary Clinic for my cat on 5/16/2024.
I was running a few minutes and called in hoping they could make some sort of accommodation and to let them know I was on my way.
I spoke to an absolutely bitter woman named Pamela Who Told me something to the effect “if I wanted my cat to be seen should’ve shown up on time” (If Redwood Vet Clinic is reading this: CHECK YOUR RECORDINGS!).
She was RUDE. Moreover, she didn’t care at all about the fact my cat needs to see a vet. She didn’t make any effort to do anything except schedule me next week and she barely tried to do that..
if you love your animals, I would not use this place.
if you had a different experience, that’s great but let’s be honest four stars on a couple hundred reviews. Maybe I should have looked first.

I wouldn't want to give even one star but to post my comment it asks me to.
I had my dog there and it was a nightmare, with all my heart I do not recommend them. No bayan.
Before they treat your pet, they bring a price list and all the tests they supposedly plan to do on your pet.
You have to pay a minimum of 75% of the amount mentioned there, so that they can care for your pet.
Even so, your pet is in a state of emergency, bleeding like in my case.
They take all the time to make a list of prices, they charge and then they send you to your house, you call the next day to find out about your pet and they don't want to give it to you, they mention another list of prices and charges.
Day after day they get paid and do almost nothing.
When I went to get my pet, it took more than two hours for them to deliver it to me because they were arguing about the bill. They still had more costs.
Since I arrived they talk about money and money and money. and they do not give you details and results of how your pet is doing.
How desperate indeed!
No Bayan there.

Very pleased with my experience today at RVC! I truly enjoyed the welcoming old fashioned facility that gives off a home-like feel to it & was very impressed by Dr. Hoskins, his knowledge, professionalism, and keen attention to detail. After experiencing the genuineness and sincere care about my dogs health/ well being from RVC, I’ll continue to bring both my dogs here :)

Brought our pet to emergency.... Outrageous price for blood test and x-ray so we declined. The doctor determined our pet had a poor prognosis. The doctor's notes were completely illegible,.- in this day and age with A I, computers, dictation apps, or assistants, why it could not be type written if not, hand lettered, is beyond me. Finally, when our pet was returned to us he was sopping wet with really stinky solution from an ultrasound. They made no effort to clean him up. When I called to inform them that he had passed away 3 days later, the response was "I'll update your notes. Goodbye". Not one utterance of sympathy. Regarding their response, I'm not sure what is unclear about my review

A few nights ago I had to put my cat down. The ordeal can be tramatic. Fortunately Dr. Espinosa and the vet assistant were amazing. They were very patient with me, understanding, thoroughly explained my options and let spend time with my cat before and after the euthanasia. I'm devastated and heartbroken that my cat is no longer with me, but feel grateful for the kindness that was displayed by RVC. Thank you.
