Disorganized. Made families wait in long lines to get a physical wristband! Why have an option to purchase online? NCVA you need to improve on this!

Their Reno tournament is the worst I’ve attended. Horribly organized and managed. Both the parking and the entrance to get wrist bands. Do it like every other major tournament. Horrible horrible horrible. Director should be fired!

At the JNQ in Reno, ABSOLUTELY the worst volleyball tournament there is! This is a bid tournament without any refs! They are making coaches ref even tho they have paid the tournament fee and booked hotels promoted by the ncva.

Not organized. Schedules come at the last minute. The girls have to ref their own games.

Zero communication. Last minute changes. No customer service.

What blows my mind is that people were so dissatisfied with this organization that they formed a whole other league - the West Coast Volleyball Association. This organization has added even more members this year, taking many of the best teams with it. You would think that would lead NCVA to reform, but no. Have a tournament next weekend and still don't know what wave my daughter is in. Fortunately the tournament is fairly close by and my son is out of town next weekend, but if he were here or I lived farther away, I would be in limbo until I knew the wave, which probably wouldn't be announced until Thursday or Friday. I would have thought losing 30 or more percent of their customers would have been a wake up call to provide better service. I guess not.

The worst, most unprofessional sports org you will encounter. Unresponsive, unorganized and shady.Went to a youth league volleyball tournament. Was told game needs to be kept to one set. And no warm ups are allowed. All because they over scheduled events.Game schedules are rarely published on time, leaving parents to scramble on the game day.If I can leave negative number of stars I would.

What can I say positive? Nothing yet. Changing venues at the last minute at additional cost to families who book travel/buy parking permits or passes without recompensation, not announcing scheduled venues at all sometimes until just a few days prior, which is NOT helpful whatsoever for families who are looking for any work/life balance, not releasing room blocks to be booked for Reno even a month prior to the event (and if parents book their own, it's to the detriment of the team for not booking rooms blocked off for the team thru NCVA) How can our children be expected to play at their best when this league tosses them around the region at the last minute on sometimes no sleep, no idea if they need to pack, stressed out parents and coaches, and total lack of communication? And Hey, NCVA? If you're going to draw a butt load of money off of all of these teams and coaches, how about you set up a mass email system to alert coaches (at the very least, the COACHES, possibly, since you have ALL of our contact info, the parents/players) when a venue is ANNOUNCED, when a venue CHANGES, when schedules are POSTED? Why tell the coaches it's their responsibility to check constantly for these changes on the NCVA website? The coaches should be notified when venues change so they aren't having to notify families at the last minute when hotel rooms have already been booked, checked in, etc that the venue has now changed for the 2nd time (3 different locations) in 4 days, especially to a venue that's now 90 miles away? Join the 21st century and use email, or push notifications!

As others have said.....the WHOLE JOB of the NCVA is to organize and run Volleyball tournaments. And they charge a lot of money to do this. As a concrete example..... Today is Thursday. We have a Power League game this weekend. The only problem is that we have no idea where this event will be happening. The NCVA website currently says the location is "TBD." The venue could be theoretically anywhere in Northern California. How people are supposed to book hotels in advance when they don't even know where a tourney will be is beyond me. It is also 50-50 whether the NCVA refs will show up. When they are a no-show, you must rely on the opposing teams coaches to ref. There is just a little conflict of interest here...... Just a little. Calls and emails to the NCVA are NEVER returned.A new volleyball league has formed (WCVBA). I will be strongly encouraging our current club to join. The NCVA is broken. Worse, they actually think that they do a good job.

Least-organized sports "organization" I have ever come across. Somebody else needs to step up.

Update 2: 2 years later and this organization doesn't seem to care whether teams follow their own anti bullying policies or the policies set by NCVA. Nothing has been done and never will be. I think their motto should be " If we wait long enough, the player will outgrow our ineptitude and we can all forget about it ". That's what they did with us and the other players/parents we've talked to. Steer clear if you can.

Nothing has changed since I played in the NCVA league and tournaments 27 years ago, and now have the displeasure of dealing with now that my children play volleyball. This organization (term used loosely, they are anything but organized) is a complete debacle and greedy to boot. Everything stated in all the reviews is true and has been true since the inception of NCVA. The only thing you can count on from this organization is last minute notices, changes, and long commute times to get to your venue. The last line in their mission statement sums the organization up pretty nicely, "... we look forward to increasing our membership base for the new season." All they care about is increasing their membership numbers at any cost to the consumer. Luckily, there is a new league in Northern California, West Coast Volleyball Association (WCVBA). This organization was created because clubs and parents are tired of dealing with NCVA's feces show. Do yourself and your player a favor--find a volleyball club that plays in the newly formed WCVBA league.

As others have said.....the WHOLE JOB of the NCVA is to organize and run Vball tournaments. And they charge alot of money to do this. Twice this year (2020), we have not had tourney locations/times 10 hours before game start time. How people are supposed to book hotels in advance when they don't even know where a tourney will be is beyond me. It is also 50-50 whether the NCVA refs will show up and scoring mistakes occur in just about every game. Calls and emails are NEVER returned.
