Although I have been a member for many years, I am terminating my membership. The facilities are dirty, the lap pool is very cold and everything is very old. There has been a slick green slim under the outdoor shower for months. The bathing suit spinner is out of order constantly as is the women's hot tub. Despite all of the problems, the months dues have gotten higher and higher.

Janette was awesome! I haven’t used the facilities, but needed help with organizing a membership/Spa certificate gift for my job. She was a great communicator and was very friendly and flexible with my unique requests. She really went over the top with creating a certificate for us which made the process so smooth!

I have been a member of the Montecito Heights Health and Racquet Club for many years, but I am terminating my membership for several reasons. First, the locker room shower areas are dirty. The area around the outdoor shower has had a slick green slime under it for months on end-an accident waiting to happen. The swimming pool is almost always too cold. For months last year the heater didn't even work. I'm wearing a wet suit top, fleece shorts and a cap and most of the time I'm very cold. Lastly, the equipment is the locker rooms is old. Half of the time the spinner for bathing suits doesn't work or the hot tub isn't working. Despite all of these problems, the dues have continued to go up. It's just not worth it.

I love the health club. It's got great facilities with a really cool weightlifting area, pool and tennis courts. Its tucked away on the hillside by the Flamingo and ensconced between beautiful old trees. Staff is always super friendly and its easy to grab lunch at Lazeaway (the hotel restaurant) afterwards. I hear the spa services are being refreshed and expanded and plan to check it out.

I've been a member of Montecito Heights for five years and I've really enjoyed the experience. I mostly use the weights, and they just renovated the weight room. Its a clean and pleasant place. I sometimes take the yoga classes which I enjoy too. Staff is always friendly and it creates a good vibe. They have a new spin studio they are firing up which I am excited to check out.

The people who work at the health club are awesome. They work for a corporation that apparently does not value its members. Try to make a reservation for the Flamingo Pool and you get to go down a rabbit hole. Go ask Alice.

I had a really nice experience using the facilities as I guess the hotel. The staff is very friendly, the towels were fresh, and the pool was perfect.

I recently moved from LA to rincon valley. The only reason I am a member here is due to a lack of options in the Rincon Valley area.Everything at this club needs updating. From the card reader when members login (no NFC capabilities), to complete lack of customer service, to the failure to target younger demographics. The recent PE acquisition has yet to prove beneficial. As demographics continue to move out of the cities, I strongly encourage ownership to reassess their assets and liabilities.

This place is great. It's best to make an appointment before getting a massage. And they only take card, no cash. The 25 minute massage is amazing. I almost fell asleep during the massage. They have products you can buy for your face, body etc.I liked how she had a cup of cold water waiting for me when I came out the room. It was peaceful. The location of the spa is on the other side of the lobby. You can drive around or walk across to get to it.

It is not right that individuals who pay just like everyone else to be a member of a gym are subjected to discrimination and micro-aggressions. I have noticed this on a Facebook post and it is not right!

Alrighty, I have read a lot of the reviews and understand a lot of where everyone is coming from with the not so pleasant members. This being said everyone has something different they are expecting/needing out of this facility. For me: I'm generally really happy with my experience. I haven't had an unpleasant experience staff. At all. I was actually sitting out in the lobby last week and over heard a conversation of a staff member who went far out of her way to get a walk in person a tour. Maybe it was luck that she managed to make it happen but she did. I'm a single mom. I run my own business and I can't really afford child care right now. Having a toddler is a lot when you don't have a lot of people in your corner for support. Being able to have two hours of child care while I do self care in peace is huge for me and if that looks like me sipping the complimentary coffee while I sit on the couch and think of thoughtful words to write this then that's what it is. It's also me taking a shower and getting to call client's back after my workout before I go full force into mom mode. Yes the obstacles are little annoying, like having to try and get pool reservations or paying a dollar for my cup if I forget one ( I never do. I actually always have a back up cup in my car so maybe everyone should do that. Idk I'm a coffee connoisseur, I never have an excuse to not have a cup of coffee) I enjoy running outside so I didn't mind the remodel of cardio and my workout is mostly Pilates self train so I don't have any issues with not enough weights or classes filling up or whatever else may be a problem for others. I don't use the lap pool so I don't run into any issues with the temperature. Shout out to the childcare staff during the week days. They see my daughter the most and she loves them and I love them. Thank you for being here for us!!! The only reason I didn't do a 5 star: First: Bathrooms really need updating. For the price you pay here and the image are creating one of the most sanitary and visual aesthetics places is I look at is a bathroom/locker room. Sub par for sure. I really Hope next remodel is this area. Second: The start up fees are outrageous. The only reason I followed through with doingThis gym is because of location it's the closest gym that has childcare available unfortunately. It's kind of frustrating you have to schedule childcare, my other gym did not require that but it is what it is. I make it work. You can't have it all right?

I really wanted to like Montecito since it's one of the few traditional gyms in the area, and included pool, steam, hot tub and sauna. After about a year of being a member I've decided to leave for several reasons. They constantly seem to have ongoing maintenance issues that are repaired at a snails pace if at all. Their wet facilities are a bit of a mess. When I became a member the hot tub was broken for severalmonths. Several women's shower stalls have been closed since I've been a member with no signs of repair in the works. The pool heaters frequently malfunction (at the time of this post both heaters are broken entirely). Membership initially included Flamingo pool access. As of the summer they've required a reservation before use. Problem is, the slots for reservations are incredibly limited and largely rely on the hotel's capacity at the time so this perk is pretty hard to utilize in warmer months. In the fall, they started a renovation that included shutting down the weight room and cardio room. No discounts were offered for an essentially useless gym, and they still maintained their pause fee throughout the remodel process. The remodel is still ongoing and will eventually include a new cycle room in the old cardio room which is something to look forward to. However utilizing this space for exclusively spin meant moving other cardio equipment into an already crowded weight room. After all this, I had to laugh when I went to get some of their complimentary coffee and was charged a dollar for having forgotten my reusable container. Staff is friendly and nice, but ultimately for the price of this place I expected a lot more.

Ever hear the phrase, "you get what you pay for?" Well that certainly doesn't apply here. I joined this health club in July of last year because it was close to my house, has showers, steam room, hot tub, access to the flamingo pool, and a small weight room. The weight room wasn't a strong selling point but I figured I could make it work. When I was initially looking the start up feel was $400 and the monthly dues were $130 for a single person. Well by July that fee had increased to $500. I decided to join anyway and got started in late July. My workouts were so-so and the lack or equipment made it difficult to have a decent workout. Plus they had split the equipment between the actual weight room and a large party tent they set up over the tennis courts. You can imagine how enticing this was during the last few months of the year. Which by the way was the only area to use weights in November, December of 2022 and January of 2023 due to a long overdue remodel of the training areas. No price reduction due to lack of equipment or access though. Then I started to notice a lot of weird little things about the facility and men's locker rooms. First they only want you to use one of their towels and if you need need another bring one from home. The rationale is that they are saving water. This never made sense to me as it takes water to wash your own towel at home. The faucets in the locker rooms are a joke. This is where they are in fact conserving water. Good luck shaving though, they are censored and low flow so it's difficult to rinse a razor out let alone wash your hands. Then there's the cast of characters in the men's locker room. On more than one occasion there were homeless men, obviously on drugs, showering nude near the men's hot tub. I let front desk staff know each time and they were females and couldn't go in to address the issue. Then the kicker, the last time I was at Montecito heights, I walk into the men's steam room and there was a man masturbating. Needless to say I left immediately and didn't bother mentioning it to the women up front. They couldn't do anything about it anyway as I was previously told. This was disturbing and my immediate thought was, "OMG there are kids here and god forbid if they were to walk in on that. I canceled my membership that week and never went back. I would strongly warn anyone against joining this club.

Don't join, staff were unpleasant and cardio room is tiny, Not worth it.
