It's very hard in this day and age to find businesses, be them local or big box, who are honest with their interactions and pricing. Lockwood is that one in a million mix of the two, that's so refreshing to find, but so unfortunately rare. My uncle had an old NTFS HDD we stripped out of a broken down laptop he used to own, and we brought it around town with a new external hard drive, trying to get quotes for how much data transfer would cost. The first place we checked in Rohnert Park said "yes, we offer this service", then quoted us a diagnostic fee of $75 before sending it out to a third party service that actually does this job (So they're a middleman, not actually a computer repair store, odd choice of wording to say they perform this job). The second place quoted us an insanely high price that we wouldn't even entertain for the kind of job that this was... This place charged us 1/4 the price of one of their competitors across town, they were super informative, they even helped recommend a good external hard drive for us to get as some brands are more prone to failure than others. When we arrived there the associate was incredibly friendly, the price was great, the service was done quickly, the service was done WELL, and I can't think of a better retail interaction I've had the past few years. I only wish I could find a place in every facet of business that operates with the same transparency, professionalism, and wonderful customer service that this place operates with. Can't recommend them enough!

Our family reached out to Lockwood Computer Repair and Data for the tune-up of one of our Linux home computers and also the installation and set up of a new Dell Laptop with a Linux operating system. For what we deemed as a very nominal and fair price, Tony performed an excellent service whereby he was extremely courteous, efficient, highly professional, knowledgeable and timely. We would sincerely recommend Lockwood Computer Repair and Data for any computer repairs, recovery and installation requirements. Here is a shining example of a young man who provides old world professional service and capabilities, a rarity in these modern times.

I had a random search engine take over my computer: SearchMine. It would redirect me from Google and Safari and pop-ups followed. After about 4 hours on the phone with AppleCare and 1 trip to the GeniusBar at Apple, they could not fix it. Off to Lockwood Computers I went and a day later, the amazing Steve and Tony fixed it!!! They said it was complicated but however they worked their computer magic, it made me SO happy to have my computer running normally again. So glad for their expertise and I would highly recommend their services. If you want the job done take it to Steve and Tony!

If I could give Lockwood computer repair and data recovery 10 stars I would. I had an important project go missing on my drive and they went full force, 100% in to help find it. They searched multiple drives, cf cards, sd cards, I mean you name it. for a week it felt like I was in there every single day with a new device for them to search. They were not only incredibly timely and communicative, they were invested in my search with heart. That means so much to me. They recognized the importance and got on board with my hunt immediately. That kind of connection to customers and their needs is the difference between big business and your neighborhood computer folks. These guys go the distance and are incredible. THANK YOU for all of your efforts Lockwood! I'll never go anywhere else!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, like sky high.

Our computer suffered from either a virus or mother board problem on a Saturday. We researched where to go and settled on Lockwood Computer Repair on Montgomery at Mission. What luck! Steve and Tony are extremely knowledgeable. They diagnosed the problem, offered suggestions and worked with us. We needed to replace the computer since the repairs would exceed the cost of a new computer. They transferred all the data from the old computer to the new one. Everything works perfectly! And they are reasonably priced!

These guys are the best! They explain to you what's going on in a language anyone can understand, they are local, reliable and reasonable. Turns out by putting a $100 solid state drive in my computer, it will run faster and last me for another 3-4 years. Take it in in the morning and get it back in the afternoon...great service

They do good work, are friendly and helpful, and don't charge an arm and a leg. My iPad's power port was broken inside. I was afraid it was dead. Lockwood opened it up and soldered the port back together. Most places would just tell you to send it back to the manufacturer, which would cost as much as a new one.
