Dr. Crippen has been my Vet now for years. Let me start by saying I first learned of her from a Cardiologist friend who said she was the best Vet he ever found. I was having cat issues that multiple vets couldn't identify; I drove from SF to Santa Rosa for the appointment with her for my cat. I found her incredibly easy to talk to & interested in all my input. Within days she had a diagnosis and presented me with options. In my future I would have dogs in fact many not all at once of course but, a lot of pairs. To be exact 3 Boxers, 4 Boston Terriers, 1 Golden Retriever & Norwegian Elkhound. I used to always moan about the yearly lab work thinking is it really that important my animals seem fine. I recall her specifically saying labs can reveal things before they show up. This time it happened she discovered my dog had come in contact with rat poison and was barreling towards renal failure, There's no doubt in my mind she saved my dog with that discovery; It was touch and go for 3 days but that early intervention saved my Boxers life that's a fact.Over the years I've had dogs who required specialists and not only was she vital in helping me access the correct specialist But, she served as my council & interrupter for me regarding suggested treatment by a specialist and the reasons for doing so. Specialist don't always spend the time explaining. As all pet owners know there comes the end of life decisions to be made Dr. Crippen has never failed me or my pets with the utmost care & concern for quality of life decisions.I could go on and on with examples of her, not the least of how current she stays on most recent medical options & studies available for my pets. I know I'm a more educated pet owner because of the way she practices vet care which is to educate the owner as she examines. She will never brag about her accomplishment but they are significant; Every specialists I've ever seen for my pets be it a Orthopedic, Internist, Neurologist, Ophthalmologist or Oncologist when I say who refereed me sings her praises. Her staff rarely turns over and for me Lakeside Pet Hospital is the absolute best!

Avoid at all costs. An emergency vet is a better experience than this run down establishment .

Lakeside Pet Hospital has been very supportive of all my pet care needs, both cats and dog. They have always been clear with costs and provided different care options. The staff has been pleasant to interact with and I enjoy Dr. Crippen's dry sense of humor. I frequently recommend the office to other pet owners.

My wife and I absolutely love Dr. Crippen and her staff! They always find space for us if we have an emergency. We own 5 dogs and 2 cats. Dr. Crippen has a wonderful understanding of livestock guardian dogs, which I feel like a lot of guardian dogs can often be looked at as neglected due to their purpose to guard livestock. She was very helpful and supportive when we had to put down our guardian dog due to kidney disease. By far, the most compassionate and helpful veterinarians someone could ever ask for. Thank you Dr. Crippen and staff!

If I could give zero stars I would. I am a first time customer, I just recently moved here from the valley to finish out my schooling at Sonoma State. I have two beautiful dogs and decided to bring them here since it had good reviews for the most part. I made an appointment sometime in November, was called and told to reschedule so I made another appointment without a problem. However, when I showed up today they could not find my appointment. They took me anyways which I thought was very kind. I needed to get my puppy his last round of shots and my older dog his yearly shots. I brought all of their paperwork with me and everything was off to a great start. The young receptionist was so sweet and kind. It all went south when I was taken into the back. The vet is extremely condescending. Almost everything I said she had a comment for. I would attempt to make small talk and answer her questions about my personal life but she continually made me feel as if she was judging me. At one point she asked me where about I moved to up here, I answered, and she let me know that when she was my age she was not lucky enough to live in a nice place like that. It very much had a condescending tone, if I couldn't have a nice place you shouldn't either. When discussing my schooling she asked how I have time for two dogs, I answered with "all though it can be difficult taking 20+ units, I make sure to extensively schedule my dogs active time". She replied with I took 20 units when I was in college and worked full time and I wouldn't have had the time. It seemed very much tit for tat like she always had to make a rude comment. Besides the condescending personal conversation, she also made me feel as though my medical choices for my dogs were incorrect. I wanted to get my puppy his last round of shots and she disagreed with me that he didn't need his dhlpp because of his age. He had only gotten 3 rounds and I needed his fourth so I had to fight with her to get him that. She also tried to sell me other unnecessary vaccines which I did not ask for. When I said no she made me feel as though I was an idiot and my dogs were going to die. Keep in mind my puppy had already received his rabies, and all other shots except his fourth dhlpp, so I didn't feel he needed anything else. Furthermore, I lived on a ranch with my family and rattlesnakes were very common, so my Australian Shepard has had rattlesnake vaccines in the past. She saw this on his records and was quick to tell me that they do nothing and cause more harm than good... but she couldn't tell me what harm? I mean seriously... I'm just here to get my dogs the shots I asked for and you have to let me know I'm wrong about something I'm not even concerning you with? The thing that made me especially sent me over the edge is when she told me both my dogs are obese. My Australian Shepard is a little over a year and weighs 48 pounds and my five month old dachshund weighs 9 pounds. Both are within a healthy range if you look at breed standards. Not to mention my normal hometown vet that I was at just three weeks ago had nothing to say but that they look healthy and happy. She inquired to what I feed them and I told her that I feed them science diet (which is what is in her waiting room) and that I go by what the bag recommends for their weight. She quickly shunned me and told me never to go by the bag. She then asked me what exercise I give them I told her walks everyday and the dog park. Trying to make small talk I mentioned my Aussies new obsession with tennis balls and that it helps to get his energy out... she shunned me for that as well. Telling me I need to be careful because it can cause problems with his teeth?!? At this point I was tired of the whole encounter and was just ready to leave. She asked me what flea and tick prevention I give my dogs... I answered advantix. Yet again, I was met with a gasp and that I was wrong. She told me any over the counter stuff doesn't work and that I need to come back and get her stuff that woul

Dr. Crippen has been my regular vet for the past 10 years and I recommend her without reservation. She saved my beloved house rabbit on at least two occasions, despite not being a rabbit specialist. (Rabbits are considered "exotic" and many vets do not treat them.) My rabbit was prone to GI stasis. She taught me to administer subcutaneous fluid and helped me figure out what was triggering the stasis. She has also treated my cat (who is now an elder) and made practical suggestions for dealing with her aging needs. She is ethical, kind and caring. I appreciate her no-nonsense approach to pet care and that there is no "up-selling" for unnecessary procedures. It's clear that animal care is more than just a business for her.

Sadly, this place was on of the most horrible experiences that I wish no pet owner has to go through. I haven’t said anything until I drove by this place and it reminded me of what they did. In 2019, My dog was dying and had to put him down. I am a college student and was calling around town for quotes for cremation. I called this place and they gave me a quote that worked. I showed up. And once I got there they put my dog died and when we checked out. They lied about the quote and It was way over what they had told me. Point blank, I had to walk out of there with my dog in a dam black trash bag that they provided. No one should ever experience this or take their animal here.

I just love Dr. Crippen and her staff, they are so friendly, kind and caring. From the time I called and made an appointment to walking in for the first time, great experience. I was looking for a veterinarian that would allow me to go in with my kitties for their appointment as my previous vet due to COVID isn't allowing.I love the office, it has such a nostalgic feel and is very clean and organized. There is a separate side for cats and dogs for entering and waiting.Dr. Crippen listens to your concerns and addresses them, has a sense of humor and is old school common sense which I really appreciate. I feel my furbabies are in good hands. I also wanted to mention her prices are very fair as well. I wish I would of found this gem a long time ago, I am thankful I have now.

Dr Crippen is very professional and caring. Our dog had a lot of health issues from gut problem, allergies and other stuff. Dr Crippen has been very helpful and would do everything to help us and our furry babies. She does her research and prescribes medications or tests that are really needed to help our pets. She was able to extend the life of our beloved dog and made her feel comfortable . We are so fortunate to have her as our vet for 8 years now. She is I highly recommend her. She is one of the best Veterinarians here in Santa Rosa.

It was the worst vet I've ever been to. Very tramatizing to my kitten and myself. I wouldn't recommend this Vet to anyone who cares for their pets. I can't stress enough... The worst experience of my life and my kittens short life.
