I have been to many, many, many doctors as I have been chronically ill all my life & I dont really like going to them. IMHO most are good, average or mediocre, some truely awefull (or even dangerous!) & a few are very good or even top notch.Trapnell falls into that last catagorie. He listens & is kind, helpfull, soft spoken, calm, funny, very knowledgeable, has a great bedside manner & usually refers me to a specialist if I need it instead of trying to do it all himself, which is a good thing. I know someday I'll have to find another PCP & that saddens me a little as I will really miss the quality of care I recieve from him. I dont like having to see him, but I do like his great personality & I know I can trust him. The staff has always treated me okay; they dont stand out as being fantastically friendly (except for Fred, may he RIP) or overly bad, as other reviewers suggested. I have been seeing him 4 or 5 years now throughout all their various moves. He is 1 of the few doctors that I would highly recommend. He's my fav PCP of all time!

I've had Dr Trapnell as a doctor since 2015. He is the nicest and very informative doctor I've ever had. I was in the medical field I've worked with alot of doctors. I find him very easy to talk to and genuinely really care about his patients.

Dr Trapnell has no ego! Dr Trapnell has referred my husband, when needed, to the very best physicians in their prospective fields!! Because of the constant excellent care of Dr Trapnell, my husband is healthier, certainly, than when I met my husband!! My husband has a plethora of issues. Dr has helped my husband create a healthy and long term life for himself. THANK YOU DR TRAPNELL AND YOUR WONDERFUL STAFF!!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I love Dr Trapnell. He is great. unfortunately his staff completely ruins that for me! They are rude every time. they could care less about his patients, and frankly they will end up giving him a bad name around town. Fred was amazing! super helpful and accommodating! He always made sure you were taken care of in a timely manner. Dr Trapnell..... hire a new staff!!

Loved Dr. Trapnell. Everything one would hope for with knowledge and personality and we had A-one service from the staff. We are thrilled to be with this office.

If your older any symptoms you have are because your getting old. He doesn't listen to his patient and as another put it his staff is rude and intolerable. Horrible since Fred left

Providence health care has declined to a state of non existence. His office staff canceled my 91 year old mother’s appointment. It’s impossible to find a new doctor in their system who can see a patient in a reasonable amount of time. She can’t get an appointment with Dr. Trapnell for four months and is not allowed to see the nurse practitioner before that. This is insane.

I have never received worst service than I have with this medical group. It is near impossible to speak with a live receptionist. I am always referred to voicemail or their website. Very impersonal and doctors do not speak with you regarding any test results. I have found a new doctor and do not recommend this group to anyone.

I’m a paraplegic,I fired him 16 years ago . His office wasn’t wheelchair accessible, No ADA compliance. He had Zero/No experience with my condition and no will to learn. He is great at referrals and prescriptions(opiates)! I decided to use the Emergency Room as my Primary care physician. I was referred to an amazing Primary care/Internalist and been happy ever since. I’ve switched to The SUTTER Health care for everything else. Memorial Hospital’s Patient rooms are not ADA/Wheelchair compliant either!

I really like Dr. Trapnell but the office rarely answers the phone. Calling multiple times on multiple days doesn't help. I have to keep taking time off work to physically go in and ask questions. It's really frustrating.

I am going to give Dr. James Trapnell 5 stars!! Same as other patients!! Dr. James is a great doctor, and his mindset is the patient first !! Although, he is working with unprofessional office workers, rude, disrespectful. I have to call three times for a referral to a specialist and a prescription refill.

I have been with Dr. Trapnell for 2 yrs now. My biggest ptoblem is to reach him. My prescription has stayed unfilled for a week now despite the fact that the pharmacy had requested it. Nobody ever picks up the phone in his office. I left 4 messages on 4 different days but nobody called me back and my prescription stays unfilled. In the past with a similar situation I had to literally go to the office. I will have to do it again this time. It is just ridiculous!. Also I have had and have recovered from Covid. The Hospital shared this with my doctor. He did not even call me to find out how I was feeling. Not a csre in the world about his patient.

My Mother is a patient of Dr. Trapnell. She is elderly and having problems associated with aging including forgetfulness and falling. My sister and I have encouraged her to move to a house without stairs and closer to one of us. He had the gall to tell her to ignore us.

Although I like Dr Trapnell and was satisfied with my care over the past 5 years or so I have decided to change doctors for the following reasons.Today I tested positive for covid-19 and called his office with questions and they did not return my call.He has switched offices and locations 3 times in the last 2 and 1/2 years and each time I've had to fill out new paperwork. The last office change resulted in a change in insurance groups so when I arrived at the office I was not covered.I'm going to take my chances with a new doctor.
