I rarely leave bad reviews, but this is such an incredible joke, I had to do it… They would not accept my American Express credit card because of the physical condition it was in. I have use this platinum American Express for the past seven years and NEVER have had an issue, but the lady there would not accept it, haha… I guess I’ll just go across the street and rent with someone else!

Hertz canceled my a reservation last minute, because they didn’t have cars. I didn’t find out until I showed up to pick up the car. Their only solution was to wait for Avis to open in 45min and check there.

I got a rental from SFO to drop off at this Hertz. Car was fine but they were overly scrupulous about the vacuum. They directed me across the street to a car wash so I can use their vacuum was free. When I went there to ask them about the vacuum for the Hertz they said it was not a free use. There was just a little pet hair off of our clothes but they made it sound to me like a big deal and. 70 dollar fee. After going through the headache and figuring it out and tripping over the curb falling in my back in the stress to get every piece of hair off I was finally able to return it.

This was my first time renting from Hertz, and it will definitely be my last. I made a reservation, not realizing it wasn't considered “prepaid”. When I arrived to pick up my rental, I was informed that I would have to pay an additional $100 because the type of car I reserved was not available.
This experience felt like a scam. The manager, Rachel, and her staff were unhelpful and indifferent to my situation. In all my years of renting cars, I've never encountered a scenario where the vehicle I reserved wasn't available, and then I was forced to pay extra. Typically, the company offers a different type of car and asks consumer if that’s acceptable. Instead, I was told I HAD to upgrade and HAD to pay more in order to proceed with rental.
To add insult to injury, I was blamed for not calling ahead to confirm my reservation, even though I explained that this has never been an issue with other companies.
Moving forward, I’ll stick with National. If you value good service, I strongly advise against renting from this company and location.

Horrible experience! Maybe the worst I’ve had anywhere in the world. Rude, belittling manager and inept staff. Gave me an ev lemon with a leaky tire. Ruined my trip and weekend. Really AVOID THIS PLACE, LET THEM SINK AND CLOSE PERMANENTLY. There are loads of other places nearby to rent cars with far better ratings/reviews. Beware of these people, vote with your dollar.

Rachael is the worst human being. Long wait on phone. Heartless. Hertz needs to find a better manager. Poor communication and management. I had permission from law enforcement. I needed the items in the vehicle. They didn't call or temm me your location. Hanging up on me isn't sorry it's deplorable. The management had your company tow car instead of arranging to get the key and call. So they are making hertz pay more towing.

Wow... they really don't care what happens to this business. There's this obese angry lady that is just rude and passive aggressive. She scolded me for leaving an empty soda can in the car. I'm assuming she felt she shouldn't have to clean the car? I don't know. It was one can and she doesn't even say thanks for renting or anything. Just handed me the trash and walked away. You also can't call in and they have like,3 vehicles.

I wish I could give zero stars. I reserved a vehicle online. Less than 24hr before pick-up time I received a "courtesy call" voicemail from them stating their inventory was low and they were cancelling my reservation. No apology, no offer to upgrade, nothing. This was my first time utilizing their service, and I will never choose them again. I'd rather pay 3x as much and go somewhere dependable.

The only reason I am giving them a two star is because we were able to get a vehicle. Was it the vehicle we reserved? No. Were they apologetic they overbooked themselves? No. Did they provide any type of solution? No. I had to basically say what do you have here now and they reluctantly showed me two options that were way too small for my family of five. I asked about another one in the lot that was a little larger, they said it was available. What do I think is shady about that? If I would’ve taken a smaller vehicle they weren’t going to refund the difference in the cost. How is that right? Horrible service, don’t take the chance. Book somewhere else!

This is worst rental car ever inconsistent information, very arrogant staff specifically a tall gentleman I guess you need take customer service classes otherwise that’s not a job you in fact, he refused to give me the car and no refund my flight delayed .
Horrible experience and never again please please do not rent from them this company.

H horrible customer service is the my mom was supposed to rent a car for 2 weeks to drive to Utah and back`when she got there to check in they didn't have the car available for her and we're extremely rude about it and she came back to the car and tears due to her horrible experience definitely do not recommend this location

Pathetic service for this location in Santa Rosa Avenue . They need to take customer service skill classes . Rude mannerism week after week. Not returning to this place again especially when I have been booking every weekend always a problem and person serving seems like he doesn’t want to help . Can’t find solution unless we push for it .. booking with enterprise from now just because of this bad experience from this location . There are ways Hertz provide services however this guy seems like he blocks the chance to help customers ! I wouldn’t hire him because he is the reason why businesses will lose customers …

Abysmal experience. We arrived to pick up our car, were told that there were no cars available, and that they didn’t help people who were late in picking up their cars. Meanwhile, Kayak showed plenty of car inventory for the following day - the staff was just too rude and lazy to help. Go elsewhere.
