We enjoyed interacting with the friendly staff. They took great care of our Husky/German Shepherd mix. Since the first visit we have continued to bring our dog here. Thank you for taking care of our dog.

At first my dog's work went well but today June 2024 the cost is ridiculous ? 150 an hour is a theft and the work is not luxury what they do ??

This is a long review because grooming is such a. Personal important thing for your pup. We take our sweet pup Rye here and have been since last November. We have a doodle and I will say a few things before I start this review. Lots of groomers in Santa Rosa don't event accept doodles anymore and I understand why. its important to note We try our best to comb our pup out through the week, we keep her short and we groom every 4-5 weeks (most of the time).
With that being said, the groomers here don't rush, they take their time and they do such a good job. One of the things I love and appreciate is the consistency. Our pup comes home always looking the same as she did before. This is huge for us because sowmtimes groomers tend to be really inconsistent depending on who is doing the grooming. They are responsive which I really appreciate. Their prices are fair and in line with the average here in Santa Rosa. Our cost is close to $140 and our dog is approximately 25 pound, mini doodle and we usually add in teeth brushing. When we first brought our pup in she was suffering from allergies and her cost was really inconsistent all over. They kept in touch with me during the appointment and recommended we go shorter so her coat looked a bit more uniform and they were right. Wr got her allergies under control and her coat grew in so much better.
Note, they get very busy and weekends are booked approx 6 weeks out. We just booked our next three appointments to ensure we can keep a good schedule. We can't recommend this place enough!!

Since my dog was six months old (now 3 yrs old) I've brought him to Hair of the Dog. The staff here is extremely patience and love. Despite my dog's anxious nature, they consistently create a comforting environment for him, I've even seen one of the staff members hug and reassure my dog before she started bathing him. Along with this I've witnessed him engaging in playful antics with some of the staff members. Hair of the Dog first caught my attention because unlike most dog grooming places, they opt not to confine dogs to kennels but rather allow them to socialize in communal waiting areas, which I love. When it comes to grooming, I deeply appreciate the dedication of the groomers. They always ensure that I'm completely satisfied with my dog's cut before he departs, even if it means revisiting the table to make adjustments. I highly recommend Hair of the Dog and completely trust them

The work quality here is commendable, and I appreciate the variety of service options available. Choosing this place for dog grooming was convenient for me, especially since I'm new to the area and it's located nearby. The positive reviews and proximity drew me in. However, the wait times are my least favorite aspect of this establishment. Our grooming appointments for my Maltipoo typically last 3 - 4 hours, which I find to potentially be unnecessarily stressful for my dog's well-being. I prioritize both my dog's emotional and physical health, and prolonged waiting times contribute to undue stress. Additionally, it is also inconvenient for planning around. I believe appointments should be honored promptly or within a reasonable timeframe to avoid extended stays in a holding room. Waiting times of over 3 - 4 hours for human hair or grooming appointments would not be tolerable. Another issue is the lengthy wait for scheduling appointments, often requiring booking a month or more in advance. Attempting to schedule in December, I found the earliest available slot for service was in February. While it's positive that the business is in high demand, this extended wait time isn't convenient for customers. Additionally, the lack of digital or card payment options is inconvenient.

Brought my dog in for a nail trim. Two ladies worked quickly and efficiently to take care of business. She was a bit nervous on the table but for a first timer I think she did great. Quick in and out in probably less than 10 minutes. Steady stream of clients.

I really enjoyed my experience here. I have an oversized Aussie who was traumatized by his first grooming experience @ petco so I was nervous about how his first time here would be. I had very low expectations honestly. From the start: they were very warm & patient with us as I persuaded my pup to walk into the building. It took him a few minutes, but he did it and they cheered him on and made him feel comfortable right away. When I picked him up he was just hanging with the owner, it was so sweet. It was very clear that they made it a positive experience for him. He looks so good and did so well with their help!

Took my malshi here today for his first haircut after moving to CA. Alba did a terrific job and Amy, at the front desk, is lovely. Friendly, clean atmosphere and all grooming is done out in the open. Will definitely bring Buddy back again.

We love this place. When I first called, I explained to Amy that Carly, our 10-1/2 CH Smooth Collie, has some osteoarthritis in her back and a previous rear paw injury from playing at the dog park. She attentively listened to our concerns. Now, we take Carly here every 3-4 weeks to get her nails dremeled and we are very pleased with the results. This week we were invited to close friends’ for Thanksgiving Day. Our tub needs a plumber and we can’t fit a Collie into the shower. Well, I was sure Hair of the Dog was probably booked solid for the holidays. However Amy found a slot to fit Carly in for a bath, blow dry, nails and ears. She looked perfect in 1-1/2 hours, slept the way home, and is ready to travel with us on Thursday. It is wonderful to find a trustworthy groomer with whom to trust with your beloved pet.

Hair of the Dog did an excellent job grooming our little Cavalier King Charles. I explained to the groomer that we need her to be trimmed short since she picks up so many burs and stickers on our hikes, and they were the first groomer that actually listened and trimmed her like we asked. Now, when we take her with us on trails, she stays so much cleaner! When I picked up our dog, she was happy and didn't appear to be stressed at all. The staff was also extremely nice and answered all my questions. Highly recommend!
