Green Fish has been on of our go to stores for several years. Nearly every time we have needed a unique piece, we found it in Frank's shop. Over the past ten years, we have purchased 5 major pieces (tansus) and several smaller items (screens, doors, etc). The quality is high and the prices fair (the prices are fixed). Frank has a deep and abiding love and knowledge of Japan. He is soft spoken and somewhat reserved, but a wealth of information for the truly interested. In addition to furniture, there are many unique and special smalls that make great gifts. We can't recommend Green Fish highly enough.

I purchased two beautiful tansu for my home. The owner was wonderful in telling me where they came from, the age, and how to care for them. I have looked in other stores, and especially liked that these were cleaned but not refinished or varnished the way so many other dealers do. Looking forward to returning.
