Booked a room without looking at the the hotel and was pleasantly surprised. The room was super clean with excellant heat/air. It definitely is a lot better than it looks and my car was still parked undamaged where I left it. However the walls are thin. I did hear everything like the stomping from upstairs the banging of doors, singing in the shower from my neighbor at 430 am and the highway traffic. I would recommend this place but I will not stay here again because I like quiet and it has no pool.

I have been staying here at Extended Stay South for a couple of weeks and I was asked to leave a review.
I have to say that so far my experience has been really pleasant.
The rooms are nice, decent size, they even have a closet.
It is usually quiet, too. Not always but normally. I have seen that if you do have an issue, you are not on your own. The office will assist you.
The staff here have been great! Very nice and accommodating. The young man eho works the office even let me pick which room I wanted!
Also, who could forget Norma? She's great, too. Very efficient. She knows her job.
She had all of my information pulled up quickly and she had it figured out before I did, lol. She was also very friendly and easy to communicate with. Puts a person at ease.
I know this is not absolutely necessary, to be extra friendly to guests. I have traveled a lot for jobs and not everyone who hosts you will be nice. I, myself, feel it does matter and it certainly adds something extra and definitely makes staying anywhere, for any length of time, much better.
Another pro? A lot of places claim to offer breakfast. They really do it here. You are offered muffins, oatmeal, fruit bars, coffee, etc. Every morning there will be something downstairs for guests to eat.
The rooms did look clean and well maintained and I saw quite a few of the rooms, too, while he was letting me pick one..
The last big plus about staying here is the laundry room. We all wish for pools and hot tubs but I know I will use the laundry room.
They do have three floors and an there is an elevator.
They run a tight ship here, which is no problem with me, I do recommend to stay.
I believe that anyone could stay here and at least be able to realax and feel comfortable.
I hope this review helps.
Thanks, again, to the staff.

With average nightly rates dipping below $100, I think this hotel is the best deal in Santa Rosa.
All the rooms are cleaned thoroughly and include a small kitchen space when you first walk in, full bath with shower / bathtub combination, and a closet with room to hang several garments.
Noteworthy details: The kitchen is equipped with a 2 burner cooktop, a full-sized refregirator with freezer, as well as a microwave oven and second sink so you don't have to use the one in the bathroom to wash your dishes.

Unless you're going to sleep on the road, don't stay at this place. The sound insulation effect of the windows and doors is like sleeping on the highway. The double bed room when booking is an ordinary small bed that can only sleep one adult. One of my 2 rooms didn't even have a thermal blanket! The ground is dirty. My wife was kept up all night!

I made the mistake of recommending this location to my friends. It's next to the freeway and the room had a very dirty exhaust fan in the bathroom filled with what looks like dirt and mold - health and fire hazard. Really disgusting and indicates poor maintenance. My friends were planning to stay 10 days but checked out the next day and found a better (cleaner) option.

Great hotel! Large, clean rooms. Good hot shower.. The employees at reception were friendly. The hotel is located along the highway, so of course there is some noise. Value for your money!

We couldn’t be happier here, rooms are clean, the location is central and’s staff are so kind and agreeable.
Reading some of the less than positive reviews from other guests makes me think we are not talking about the same hotel.
When we find ourselves needing a temporary place we weren’t sure what to expect.
Thinking we would be here for just a week, we were welcomed by Eric and Elizabeth at 1am. They set the tone for the rest of our stay--by being the friendliest and most helpful people imaginable. BY now we have been here 4 months and counting. And it doesn't stop with those two. It’s been an absolute pleasure staying here. All of the employees are so great. Stephanie and Norma keep a close eye on everything making sure guests all have a positive experience and the hotel runs with precision. Michelle and Cordelia are super efficient, friendly and knowledgable. Each in her own lovely way. I’m always asking for help with my room key--especially after hours, and overnight staff are so nice no matter what is the time or concern.
They understand the meaning of hospitality--they understand what it takes to make a costumer happy. Would stay again. Well, I am still here. So yeah, I would recommend this to most anyone I know. The truth is, you could spend a lot more money and be a lot less satisfied. Stay at the Extended Stay. You wont regret it.

My experience here has been absolutely top notch. The value is undeniable. No other hotel/motel offers anything close for a similar price. But it’s not just the price that makes the hotel a good place.
The employees are the reason this hotel is great.
Stephanie, Norma, Michelle, Eric, Elizabeth, Cordelia, and the rest of the support staff are always available, ready with a smile, and have answered every question we’ve had
Other hotels I’ve stayed that cost a similar price have never had employees with even half of the professionalism that this staff has. In fact at some of the more expensive hotels I’ve stayed, the staff as a whole has not been as caring and friendly.
We’ve been here about four months this stay so far and I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel for both short and long term stays, you’ll be in good hands.
Rooms: Clean spacious with 2 burner stove full fridge and sink. I recommend upstairs on the backside as the freeway noise is diminished.
Nearby activities: There’s Santa Rosa marketplace across the freeway with Target, Trader Joe’s, Ulta, Old Navy, Costco, Best Buy, Marshall’s, and more. Nearby Michael’s, Ross, Pet Smart, Pet Max, O'Reilly's, Auto Zone, Pack and Save, and tons of restaurants, Santa Rosa Seafood, Las Palmas and the Noodle Palace come to mind.
Safety: I feel perfectly safe here. SR Police and CHP are around quite a bit. They come through the parking lot on a regular basis, only stopping if there is just cause. There have been very few incidents that have caused any alarm at all, and none of them amounted to anything in the end. By and large, this isn't considered the most desirable of neighborhoods, but nothing stands out as dangerous. In prior years, I believe there was more illicit activity around, but it appears to have cleaned up as far as I can tell.
Walkability: Once you get on the opposite side of the 101, you can walk to any number of stores and restaurants. Unfortunately, walking over the bridge is a little bit, well, sketchy. There is a sidewalk on the south side but it ends suddenly and the only thing keeping you from the cars are flimsy plastic dividers about 2 inches wide by 4 feet tall.
Food & drinks: Nearby: Panda Express, Applebees, Sonic, Tacobell, McDonalds, In-n-Out, froyo, cookies, Burger King, Sourdough and Co, Pokki, Teaspoon, Mountian Mike's, Hawaiian BBQ

I needed a location that was somewhat central to Benicia, Napa, Sebastapol, and Bodega Bay. I prefer to meal prep and bring my meals, beverages, and snacks with me on day trips. Extended Stay South Santa Rosa fit the bill.

Worst hotel experience of my life. There was a drunken brawl upstairs from our room, that tumbled down the stairs and continued outside of our room from 2:30 a.m. till about 5:00 a.m. we called the front desk, her response was, oh yeah, there are drunk people. No apologies, no one really seemed to care, we asked her to call the police which I don't think she did because the fight continued and the rowdy behavior continued until about 5:00 a.m. Besides that, there were dog feces all around the grass area in the parking lot right next to our room, and there was no hand soap or any amenities whatsoever in the room. The only positive would be that they ended up refunding us for the stay. That doesn't change the fact that my daughter had an important competition She had to be up at 6:00 a.m. for and she got zero sleep.

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Pulled up into the parking lot and there was homeless people hanging out all over the place and a dude in a walker sitting in the middle of a parking space smoking something out of what looked like a meth pipe. Get into the lobby which smelled like cigarettes and booty and was told that the reservation I had made and had already paid in full was given to somebody else. The staff had no idea what to do. Very unprofessional and obviously untrained staff. I dodged a bullet with this place giving my room to somebody because after being in there for a few minutes I started to doubt the decision I made booking this place. Spend the few extra bucks and go somewhere else. This place is nasty.

The room was literally gross. Housekeeping did NOT do their job. The bathroom, kitchen and room were not clean at all, only quick surface cleaned. And there was a huge hole in the kitchen wall where it met the floor.
The bed were hard and we were really dissatisfied with our night there. |
