I sought out to find the most basic klunker bike available. Sure, there were some online made by big companies. In fact, they were probably cheaper than what i paid for this bike... That's not the point though is it? The point is i found a bike locally that was made from parts that would otherwise be thrown out. I don't know about you but that makes me happy. I was very close to pushing the button on those ones online until i did a quick little research for local shops. I knew some local shops carry these brands in store but something told me to dig a little deeper. I found this bike and it immediately peaked my interest. Brooks has the option to call or text which is nice if its late or the weekend. or maybe being simply on the move. He got back to me very quickly to get me to come see it. its all by appointment, which i really like. I tried this thing out on a quick test ride and i was smitten. I'm not looking to be serious about my rides even if they are quite a few miles sometimes. i wanted to feel like a kid again this bike checked all the boxes. And it fits me like a glove. The saddle concerned me but I honestly wont go back to larger saddles for big butt. This one seems to really fit my rising style. No gears. No cables. All Fun!!! Thanks Brooks. Appreciate you doing what you do.

Brooks always delivers. Bought my fourth bike from him today, and I’m always happy with his product. He even took the time to adjust my new bike to fit my body type.

Brooks and I were texting each other off and on for a couple of weeks. Finally, I was able to bring my son to size him for a new bike since he outgrew his. Brooks took his time so my son could adjust to getting a new bike. My son is 7.5 years old. But we bought a nice bike. Thank you Brooks.

The guy who ran the place was great and really nice concerning the parts I bought but I inquired about some parts they had on display that didnt have prices and his response was that he'd have to do some research and that I should send him a list of parts I was looking for however. I don't see why I should have to go home and put in extra work after being in the store with the parts in my hand. The thing was a bunch of the displayed parts didnt have prices and just a select few did which is kinda pointless to have them up for display if they arent readily sellable. Even on their website not much is listed. I understand trying to get the top amount for a part but its not that hard to do some quick searching when a customer is there to find out what a ballpark price would be especially if they are willing to buy them right then and I was the only one in the store since its by appointment. Ive been to used bike shops that were slammed with customers and they always come back with a price within not even a minute after a quick internet search. He did however come up with a number quick when I asked about a bike on display with no price. The same response went for an inquiry I sent for a bicycle I wanted to sell which was understandable and told me hed check back in two to three days however it took almost 2 weeks and me checking in again to have him just say that he forgot to respond after researching and that he couldn't come to a conclusion on pricing but decided to pass because they weren't what they were looking for and that this was the slow season. I feel like that could have been said to me initially when he looked at the bikes when I first sent the email when he saw the pictures which I would have totally understood. But to leave me hanging only to respond after I had to reach out seems like poor practice. Aside from the initial interaction of buying the part I found of their website I just found the whole experience as luke warm. He was nice and all but felt like he couldn't be bothered when it came to making anything but a big sale. I'm sure they are probably great when it comes to mechanics and whole bike sales.

DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE. It is a scam and they will sell you a shitty bike and wont even buy it back at a discounted price (they are advertised purchase used bikes). Too bad because I thought about referring them the school I work at to purchase bikes for the weekend ride program. BUYER BEWARE!!!!

We've purchased two bikes for our kids at Bicycle Czar and left very happy with all aspects of the transactions. If you have good timing you can find a like-new quality bike for a price far better than a new bicycle. The secret? Just call ahead!

I worked with Dave to get a used bike, and the whole process was easy and satisfying! They have a prototype of a bike that can come in new or used. You can choose the seat, the extras, the gears, the braking system- you choose and they build the bike for you and give you the cost for each option up front. My used bike seems new. Dave was responsive and wonderful to work with. I would definitely recommend them and return in the future!

The nobility of repair... I bought my bicycle (a Specialized Allez) back in 2008, from the czar, but at a different location. The bike was used and a good deal. I've ridden it for thousands of miles, and still love it. This summer, I brought my bike back home to bicycle czar, to get some finnicky repair work done. My shift lever hoods were getting sticky. Other bike shops said that I'd have to replace the entire shift levers, even though they still worked fine. Dave at the czar said he'd look into it, found a solution, and fixed just the issue, perfect job. They seem to actually care here, what a gem.

Dave was so beyond helpful and kind! Bicycle Czar's customer service is second to none! My husband, an avid marathon runner, is active duty military and is currently deployed. He has been using his free time to research road bikes so he can train for a triathlon when he gets home. He contacted me and said he found the perfect bike on Bicycle Czar's website, but wasn't sure if they shipped (we live in Kansas). Dave was very quick to answer my inquiry about shipping. They do indeed ship! And boy did they get it out to us quickly! I just received the bike this morning and got my husband on a video call while me and the kids opened it up to show him. With the invoice was a very nice, hand-written note thanking my husband for his service. They really went above and beyond! My husband is elated and is really looking forward to coming home and getting into his new athletic hobby! Thank you so much, Dave and the team at Bicycle Czar!

Had an old bike frame that's been in my garage for months and months. Was going to trash when a buddy of mine suggested I try selling it to these guys for extra pocket cash. The process was EXTREMELY SIMPLE. Texted some photos, Dave greeted me at my car 15 minutes later, kept the frame, said I'd hear from him in the next few days. The NEXT day I got a text with a very generous offer. Checks already in the mail. To too it all off he let my dirty busy eight year old come with us to the back room and check out all the bikes. He has some incredibly awesome BMX bikes he's restored at great prices. So rather you're looking to buy, sell, trade, or just browse, this is the place to go. Thanks Dave!!

I originally contacted Bicycle Czar (Brooks and Dave) several months ago after I saw a refurbished Centurion Niko road bike on their website. I have the same model and inquired if they knew any local bike shops in the San Jose area that might be able/willing to refurbish my 40+ year bike. I was trying to avoid a 4 hour round trip car ride to Bicycle Czar in Santa Rosa from San Jose. Brooks gave me a couple of contacts. Unfortunately, these shops and others I contacted had similar reasons why they couldn’t upgrade/refurbish my bike – parts unavailable and the bike is too old, “you would be better off buying a new bike.” I decided to go with Bicycle Czar. I sent Brooks a picture of the bike (gear side) and he replied he could do the job. I dropped off my bike (soon to be my younger son’s) three weeks ago. I was impressed by the neatly organized shop with bins of vintage parts. Yesterday, I pick up the bike – looks better than new. For those of you who are reluctant to scrap your vintage bike as I was then you should contact Bicycle Czars. I’m glad I did!!

Excellent spot to find a used bike. Nice people with a great selection to choose from. Very happy with the experience and the bike I walked out with.
