I suspected a certain person would jump to give a 1 star review today after what i just witnessed (especially after she said the store only had 1 star review but at the time I'm writing this, it's 4 stars). Let me start by sharing that I've been taking my mini-pom to Banfield since 2011, and this particular vet since 2016. They have been excellent in their care and attention. I especially like Dr Rathe and the vet techs and staff who help my fur baby stay healthy -or ensure a comprehensive exam and care plan to get her back to health when certain ailments arise. I was in today for my pups pain injection and a previous reviewer, by name of B.B., took issue for her dog's (Thor) care today. See her review, then return to mine. She must've been trying to advocate for her mom, who may be financially stressed, but she went about it a terrible way. She was quite nasty to the staff, though I'm sure she'd say she was 'just being assertive'. Have you seen tik toks about entitled Karens in retail spaces? She is one of those. The jist of it is: she and her mom must not understand the banfield plan is great for preventative care, and then there's discounts for stuff outside of the plan. Depending on your plan, and the pet's needs, determines how much is included or out of pocket. She thinks that her mom's dog should get free ear cleanings and antibiotics? Show me where a vet does that? The Vet techs ALWAYS call the owner to explain what the vet assessed and the recommendations + any additional costs associated with it as well as what's included in the plan that costs nothing. The mom of that dog agreed to the cost, but the daughter didn't know this so she came storming in complaining about the charges not matching the previous quote! That's on them not communicating to each other, not on Banfield staff or Ashley. She then complains that the dog's there all day and is not accepting of the logic for it. Well, I implore she try to do the job 1 day and see for herself why a drop off (which is, again, agreed upon by the owner) is different than a straight appointment. Nothing Ashley could explain would've appeased this customer, she was just looking to argue. She even shoved her phone in Ashley's face to record, threatening she'd send it to corporate. Little does she know I started recording her the moment she shrieked out "excuse me?!! Do you want to try that again?!!" When she was told the total by the poor unassuming front desk staff in the beginning of the whole interaction. I'm sure she doesn't want to see how she really came across... but like I stated before, it was nasty and the Banfield staff did a very commendable job holding their ground while still being respectful enough to move the rude customer along. Their dog, Thor, was not in ANY distress when he was brought out, so clearly him being therefor 6 hours was not a big deal to him... By the way, she insisted to knock off the antifungal treatment for that dog, probably because the total bill was still too high for them, and was advised that the dog has an ear infection so it won't get better if untreated. She said she was fine with that; they'd go somewhere else. I hope the dog gets the treatment he needs and doesn't suffer because they would have to fork over more $ than it'd cost to have just paid for the Rx. The owner of the dog also stated she signed up for banfield 5 years ago, so it's a bit ironic that they're just now having an issue with how the banfield system works? Unless this is the 1st time the dog came in with issues requiring addressing outside of what's covered. As my own dog gets older, and slower to recover from her skin infection or heart condition, I know that I'll be paying a bit more out of pocket than I used to pay when she was a healthier young dog. It's still more cost effective than going to a vet- or emergency vet- with the health conditions that come with older age in a dog. And again, they a

Unprofessional staff... Especially Shift Lead Ashley! No Practice manager to speak with on when I questioned why my bill was different than the quote I received. Ashley was extremely hostile and all around bratty to us. Kept my pup for 6+ hours for an ear cleaning and blood work that was being sent out to a third party lab. And according to Ashley..." I'm not the only pet in the building so she has to do everything one at a time"..What?? She explained that she has to do the blood work and ear cleaning separate which is wild because that actually stresses pets out more having to be put in kennels and handled so many different times. Wouldn't it be less stressful and time/cost effective to do a blood draw and cleaning all at once while you have a pet handler to assist? Save yourself the headache and excess charges and go some place where they are respectful to not only the customers and pets as well.

Our little dog is one of the crazy ones who loves going to the vet. When we pull up in front I have to be careful not to let her jump over me to get out of the car to get to the door. She loves the attention she gets, and the staff all love her. Her care has been exemplary.

Every time I call to make an appointment for my dog or cat, they are scheduling for over a month out. When I finally do get an appointment, I am called the day of the appointment and told they won’t have time to treat my dog and go somewhere else. I already paid for the services that I scheduled my dog for with their “plan”, which is a bait and switch move. The front staff is awful at their job, specially Jennifer, who needs fired. Frankly, every time I see Jennifer is the receptionist that will be helping me, I want to shoot myself because I know there is going to be an issue. For example, I pre-authorized teeth removal for my dog with Jennifer and gave her my cellphone number for further contact. Not only did she not tell the vet tech that tooth removal was authorized, Jennifer wrote my number down wrong so the vet tech couldn’t get a hold of me. The dental cleaning was part of the “plan” and I wanted treatment at the same time. Obviously, the two bad teeth were left and my dog is in pain six months later. Banfield SR says I will need to pay a few hundred dollars for the anesthesia again to remove the teeth that was supposed to be removed 6 months ago.I have been a Banfield customer for over 10 years. I love the vets there, especially Dr. Rathie, but it just isn’t worth the hassle anymore. Banfield SR built a new vet hospital and moved from Petsmart with the promise of better services and expanded treatment options. I think they did better when they were inside Petsmart, with service and competency suffering from moving to their new location.I have been shopping around for other vets that have preventative services plans and notice that the VCA now offers one. I am seriously thinking of switching because the vet hospital I am told to keep taking my animals to, Petcare East, is covered and down the street from my house. I am also working on a complaint to Banfield Corporation to inform them of haw Banfield SR is misrepresenting their company. I recommend anyone thinking about Banfield Hospital in Santa Rosa as a possible vet for their pet to look elsewhere at this time, due to the several issues that they are having right now.BTW…the Banfield Hospital in Rohnert park is awful too. I took my dog Lizzy this past Friday and it took two hours for her visit. There was a float vet tech there with no computer access, making the visit and her job difficult. There was also a problem with the prescription that I was given for my dog. The pharmacist called Banfield RP for clarification on Saturday morning and they were closed when they should have been open. The pharmacist and I both called Banfield SR for help and we were both told that they couldn’t because they didn’t have access to the information. I know that was a lie because the Banfield computer system is connected and my dog’s chart can be accessed from any banfield location ??♀️

Took my puppy here a few weeks back to get 6 months of her heart worm medicine, I knew she was past due for a few vaccines and they informed me there as well, i told them I did not want her getting any of them on the visit and I rather take her next appointment for that, took her in charged me 600 dollars when they first said it was going to be 300, did not tell me she got all three vaccines which they are suppose to tell me because there could be possible side effects, terrible experience have had a few bad experiences with them, called them and asked them how they could not tell me about her getting vaccines, was suppose to get a manager call back and never got that, do not go here I would give them 0 stars if I could

The staff was very friendly and helpful on the phone the only problem is that just to get a couple of shots for our dogs so they could go to a boarding facility for an emergency trip my wife and I had to take. They had nothing available for over a month out...

Really good value for pet services, especially with the Banfield pet plan (my dogs have had Banfield plans for at least 7 years). Great vets.Helpful with aging pets, behavioral concerns, puppy care.

It's a cute pet clinic HOWEVER,they have you drop off your pet for just about anything. I made sure to have a 10 am appointment, and got there ten minutes before only to be met by a full waiting area. There was no formal way of checking in, which I thought was weird because you couldn't stand in line since the desk area was so small. While there were several patients to check-in in front of me, the receptionist chose to prioritize the phone calls coming in. (This I don't mind since I understand being understaffed, however it comes into play later on.) After finally dropping off our pup 30 minutes later, we were not told how long it would be. I had not been to a clinic that 1. forcefully makes you drop off your pet and 2. does not give you an estimated wait time. I waited two hours before I decided to call to check on my pup, and they sent me straight to voicemail. Five minutes after I initially called they finally called me to let me know my pup was ready to be picked up, but when I arrived I waited an additional 25 minutes before she came out. :( Overall, I do not recommend if you are someone who needs to have these updates sooner, or who is on a schedule. They don't seem to be professional about time, and I do not enjoy having to wait for updates. (Usually my pup is seen by the doctor and I am told her updates in person, not by someone over the phone.) I am simply writing this review in hopes they change some of their policies because it seems unfair they charge so much money for less than the bare minimum. I take pride in my pup and only want the best for her.

Always a great experience here! My dog loves Dr. Rathie, and all the staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. The pricing is extremely fair, I usually go into the vets office expecting to spend an arm and a leg, but it's never too crazy here. Will absolutely continue bringing my dog as they take such good care of him!

Banfield's locations are great and convenient. They can easily transfer your pet's medical info between locations and the are always friendly.

The veterinarian, nurse and staff are awesome. The most through staff I've seen throughout the US.

Consistent and friendly hospital. Glad they opened this additional location! I take my senior citizen cat here and I am always pleased with how he is cared for. He has gotten used to being treated by Nurse Noelle and she really has a gift with the little guy. Normally he gets very stressed at the vet but something about her seems to soothe him. Sometimes places will keep you in the dark, talk down to you, or use jargon when explaining the issues in ways that are confusing or condescending, but I've not had that with the medical staff here. I can confidently say the nurses and techs are great, though they're the only ones I've actually interacted with. I trust them with my pet! They also have a really cost effective pet wellness plan that I am very happy to be on, I recommend it to anyone who asks me about this place as it's such a great deal. Normally I don't like big companies or chains but this Banfield is really the place I like to go now. You wouldn't know it's a chain with the way the staff treat you and your animals!

Tried to give this place a chance since I live in Santa Rosa however I wish I had just sticked with rohnert park, went for just one vaccination and they wouldn’t see my dog saying he was sick when I explained he has been having these issues for a while they didn’t listen look at his previous records or anything they said he sounded sick and couldn’t be seen after I had talked with them the day of the scheduling about talking to a doctor with these specific concerns however I don’t think the lady I was speaking with put it in the notes which is fine but they called me asking if it was okay that the doctor was gone and if the tech could administer the vaccination if I was willing if not they would have rescheduled with a doctor I said can I just get the vaccine and rescheduled for a check up with the doctor to talk they said it was fine then I came in tried asking when the doctor might be back in and explaining why I’d like to talk to him they said that he couldn’t be seen and wasted my time.

My cat Noodles was dying at home. I was able to see a vet right away at Banfield. The treated her with human kindness and passion. I received paw print from Banfield. We will miss Noodles
