We rented a 10 ft. container when we moved to Santa Rosa in the summer of 2020. We were moving to a rental house while we looked for a house to buy. The rental house was pretty small so we need a container. I called a few places but American Storage was the friendliest and their price was good (especially compared to "Pods.") They delivered the container clean and on time and had no trouble fitting it into the small driveway. The container was in excellent condition but didn't leak a drop during the winter rains. We finally bought a house so we we will be returning the container soon. But our experience with American Storage was excellent.

CO. made a contract w/me 7/16. They drop off PODs (6) they would store. We're in Central Marin 1 mile off 101. CO. contracted 2 bring 2 us, pick up when full ;store & return. I went by POD Co to get some things it was raining; didn't bother to bring it out. Not a problem,"how about U bring it down, when ur able" We will empty & refill U store. NO, we do not go past Novato".Seriously?If policy change did U give Notice? Nope. CO said won't bring, to U. My problem? My expense? Too bad!;? We'll see!

Just a personal observation regarding American Storage. We've stored our boat here for a few years and have always experienced professional, courteous attention. Kathy, Donna and Gayle have shown excellent service when requesting our boat moving. Ray, their yard foreman is very skilled with his forklift and its maneuverability. Our boat is well taken care of. Our piece of mind is never challenged as we know their care and security is well above standard. We're fortunate to belong to the American Storage Family.

Well....I've used American Storage for my boat in the past and had a decent experience. I have not needed their service for the last couple years but am in need of it again. I called in to make the arrangements and they turned away a solid, returning customer because my boat is more than five years old! I have a 1994 Malibu Sunsetter, which by the way is in excellent condition. As far as boats go, I'd consider it a mint condition classic.(I understand I may be biased a little) Anyways, I spoke with a woman who claimed to be the highest level of management at the Santa Rosa location(doubt it), and she stated they only want boats that are 5 years or newer and have value to them. She clearly does not know boats very well. No, my boat is not going to have the value of a 5 year old boat(I'm not delusional), but to tell me it has no value?! And not enough value to sit in a warehouse?! Very disappointed and frustrated with the service and lack of help for a returning customer. 1 star it is.....and the loss of my business. Which by the way, the manager could have cared less about. Nice

Harassing me. My wife works down the street, apparently they think that the street belongs to them. The Dick in the company vehical has continued to buzz my vehical, park behind it writing down the license plate and pulling up really close. I WILL BE POSTING PHOTOS OF THE HARASSMENT AND CONTACTING THE POLICE. Are they doing things that would make them worried about people parked near their facility?

I've used American Storage twice for reasonably long periods of time (due to moves). They have the most competitive rates on a per crate basis (crates are 8x5x8). I usually spoke with Gayle, who has always been most helpful. They definitely got to know me well since one move was rather rushed and I needed to access items from my crates many times. They even have delivery service for the crates; however, recommend that you discuss that situation in advance due to street restrictions as well as hilly areas. I would have given them 5 stars except for my most recent move into Mill Valley--I wanted to have my crates delivered and offloaded into a large parking lot and then have my movers take my stuff to the apartment, in a complex the truck wouldn't fit. Car traffic is not an issue at this lot and I arranged a similar situation the first time I used them years ago. I was told that management didn't wish to take on the risk the offloading in a large parking lot (not theirs or my apartments). I found that unfortunate since my movers that would have been doing the actual moving, etc. Regardless, I would use them again.
