Took my truck in to get diagnosed what was going on with the transmission. I let Jay know that it was rebuilt by another AAMCO and I had the paperwork for it. I told him upfront I believed the warranty would no longer cover any repairs as I had purchased the truck. He proceeded to say every aamco is individually owned and that he would be speaking to the original shop that did the rebuild. Told me to take the truck back another day for a pressure test that would not cost me anything. I had my cousin miss work to drop off my truck, all for him to give me a call and let me know that the warranty is no longer valid which I had already explained to him. Complete waste of time.

Just now looking at these reviews and wish I had seen them first :( My husband brought my sons truck to AAMCO to have him look through every detail and ensure everything was working properly and make repairs as needed. I came to pick it up to find out the total was $5000 (mind you trucks probably not even worth that much). It was worth it to us to know that our son was driving a safe vehicle that wouldn't break down or have any safety issues. A short time later, the transmission went out, rendering the truck useless. At that point, I took it to another mechanic to check out. I was frustrated as this is literally a transmission shop. The other mechanic pointed out all of the bad work done by AAMCO. *new part idler arm was installed with no grease zerks/not lubed *no grease on front end parts *transmission 3 quarts low on fluid with no sign of leaks. Not sure how this could have been missed when asked to do a very thorough service on the truck. When trans sensor was replaced by AAMCO fluid levels should have been checked. Fluid often leaks out when sensor is removed. Transmission mount was also replaced but fluid not checked by a transmission shop? There is a list of things he could've repaired that he must've overlooked but I won't take the time to list those out here. Before finding out about their shoddy work I took a big Silverado diesel truck there with a fluid leak. Jay stated it was the DEF system and the parts were on back order from Chevy. This is a work truck and it sat for four months waiting for those parts and our small business lost revenue. Not their fault but read on. The other mechanic advised me to tow the truck out of there and I wish I would have listened to that advice. Jay was so nice and courteous and professional. I trusted that this was a one off and maybe one bad employee. Come to find out later he is not a mechanic just the owner/ office guy. A pencil pusher. He eventually called to say the truck was ready for pick up. I sent my workers out in the truck and it continued to leak fluid, screwing up our workday. He made three additional attempts to repair the truck and each time returned it and there was no improvement in the fluid leak or change at all. In the meantime, he went ahead and charged me $8000 and dropped the truck off at West Coast Diesels and stated he didn't have the tools to go any further. West Coast diesels quickly stated it was a diesel fuel leak and sent me a video of the hose that needed to be replaced. I'm talking within a couple hours. That shop repaired the truck and I had to pay an additional $2400 to them out of pocket. West Coast also stated that the $275 oil change done by AAMCO would need to be redone as they overfilled it and knocked the oil fill tube loose. They also let me know the truck was throwing a bunch of diagnostic codes. So AAMCO had the truck for four months and never thought to check if there were any codes?? All of this and a second work truck had the same fuel leak a few weeks later and because West Coast was too busy I took it to Dunleavy automotive. They had the hose replaced and finished within one afternoon! AAMCO should not be touching cars they have no idea what they're doing and will still charge you thousands of dollars and return your vehicle unfixed! Not even improved! I hope this helps another unknowing customer like me :( I will attach photo and video demonstration of his bad repairs.

Jay and the entire team were 100% true to their price quotes ( on the money! Down to the dime!), shipping of parts and repair schedule, and estimated labor time in regards to my vehicle. In essence, true to their word from beginning to end; which is extraordinarily rare in any business in this day and age. Before my SUV landed in their expert, caring and competent hands, I was in the eye of a Hellish Vehicular Tsunami due to another location's snail-slow pace in ordering/receiving the part/parts that I needed, as well as an astronomically absurd out-of-pocket charge that went well above what the parts and labor should have been in any situation in the first place. As I professional musician, I need my car as much as I need my instruments and gear. I actually found myself in a horrible scenario where I was thrusted into contemplating selling one of my prized guitars in order to cover the overage. I was crushed. I was also very perplexed because the superb warranty on my car that I purchased is Top-Tier, and should have and would have covered the repair. However, I was feeling that this other location that I had initially taken it to, was taking advantage of the high value warranty situation, and thusly taking advantage of me.So when I finally reached out to Aamco and got Jay on the other line, right away I felt like I was heard and understood. I finally felt for the first time in 5 weeks through this nightmare, that I was going to be okay; and I began to see the light shine through the dark Auto Repair Tunnel. Thank you Aamco. You got me on the road again, and playing shows to many people out there, which is what I love to do. By the way, your business nickname should be "Aangel-Co" Beep! Beep!Jason
