I haven’t actually been here but I called them with a list of things that the dealership recommended that would end up costing me about $1000. I wanted a quote from them to compare. They could have easily quoted me and had all this stuff done, but they told me that none of that is necessary unless I’m having actual issues. Unfortunately, I didn’t catch his name but guy I spoke to asked what the mileage was, and gave me advice on what to look out for and when to bring it in for maintenance.
They definitely have my business when it’s time for that. Very much appreciated the honesty.

I came for a smog check, but I didn't feel welcomed here. The employee who helped me not even a Hi! or good morning. Just took my paper work and said nothing.

The manager Rio is a total asshole. Cold. Very uncomfortable to talk too. He is extremely rude to customers. The actual people fixing the cars, fantastic! Much more pleasant, good prices, and inviting then a bozo thinking he can run the place. Great shop but get a new manager.

I broke down on the freeway the tow truck driver referred me to his uncle whom owned his own shop. Although he had my van a day and a half he couldn't figure it out. It started good and ran great. When got there I was worried. I knew there was a problem. He got in started it, looked to the right at the motor. Behold! Hanging there was something unplugged. He plugged it back in and that fixed the problem I guess. It cost $155.00 to plug something back in. Yes he's honest I guess but I still feel ripped off. Won't be going back. Reviews are to inform the people of the truth. This is the truth not my fault..

My car had the slip and vdc off lights for a while and when I called they took it in and after a day they fixed the issue! They also diagnosed other codes my car had with all the info in the receipt. Great place and great price??Services: Auto engine diagnostic

Here I am typing my 2nd review in less than a month about SP Tune up. My friend was in need of a good, honest mechanic. She was about to take her car to another shop when I suggested to have a second opinion. I'm glad (and I know she is) she took me up on it. They had quoted her a price and told her they couldn't start for another week. As you know cars this days are a necessity more than ever. We took her car to SP and Fili was very upfront about what it would cost roughly, (it was considerably less than was she was quoted at the other shop) and the vehicle was done in a couple of business days. Needless to say, she is soooo happy and thankful for the experience. Fili and staff, you hit it out of the park again, not just a home run,but a Grand Slam. Keep up the good work guys!!!

Fixed my friends 12 passenger van heater and air conditioner took a day in a half to be ready not bad at all. She runs a daycare so the price was right and there time and quality of the job. Exceptional customer service ?. We were referred by Santa Paula Transmission by Jose he does great work as well. Hope you find this helpful.

Took my wife’s vehicle to SP Tune up because somebody had mentioned that it was leaking water. I called and Rio answered the phone promptly and after going over the issue quickly, he instructed me to bring it early the next morning and leave it so it can be looked at. Well, to my surprise, he called me within 35 minutes and told me nothing was wrong, it must have been the a/c running during the time she run her errands. He was awesome ? and his staff very nice as well. I can say I definitely recommend this place to anybody looking for an honest place to do business with. I've been going to SP Tune-up Center since 2000 for personal service on my vehicles; Fili, and now his son Rio, and their crew of mechanics are throwbacks to the time of neighborhood storefronts and service shops; when you find gems you keep them. Esperanza, wife and mother, keeps things running smooth with her presence behind the counter. Loyalty breeds loyalty. Thank you for your trusted service on the half dozen cars I've brought your way over the last 2 decades!

I took my Chrysler town & country to SP Tune Up because the idle was really rough, and the engine light turned on. After a couple days, I got my car back and was told everything was good. Changed the spark plugs, oil, new injector and gasket. $1400 later, and my car was still having a really rough idle. Sure enough, the engine light turned back on. Took my car back to them, kept it for a couple days, got it back, and STILL a rough idle. Like clockwork, 2 days later, engine light was back on. So I took it back for a THIRD time! Once again, nothing was done. When I was called to let know my car was ready to be picked up, I was completely dismissed with any questions I had. Not a single question was answered. When I arrived to pick up my car, I was basically told "it drives great, no problem". So I reiterated that of course it feels fine when driving... because it's the IDLE that isn't okay! I was told that if the engine light turns back on, do not take my car back to them because that's just not what they do there. So basically, I wasted $1400 and the issue was never resolved. I took my car to another mechanic in Ventura who was able to diagnose the real issues, and has since fixed my car. I have NEVER had a worse experience than I have at SP Tune Up. I will never take my car there again. And I was treated so rudely. Go somewhere else!

No one wants to have to do an emergency repair. So to give 5 stars for one is kinda amazing. I mean I should knock one star off just cause I am unhappy. But, that wouldn't be fair. SP Tune up center not only took my truck right away, they got it done in record time finding and fixing a few additional issues within the estimated cost. I can see why they are so highly rated (and they don't even know!).

Horrible service. These guys know nothing and are rip offs. I took it and spend $600 and had to take it back three times, they ended up telling me they fixed the wrong thing.. I decided to return (stupid mistake ) because last time I got an oil change it was only $60. This time they charged me $97, not even the dealerships charge me that much! I wish I could give them a 0!!. (This does not include Felix, I've heard he's honest and good but the other works are not, don't follow integrity and they're going to ruin his business ). If you do go here ONLY go to Felix.
