Rabalais' Bistro
861 E Main St, Santa PaulaI LOVE Rabalais' Bistro. I always have a good meal. Their collared greens are something I dream about, I always get them. Last night, I tried their mashed potatoes and, holy shit, what do they put in there? My boyfriend and I ate all of it. The french onion soup was delicious, not the typical served in bowl with crispy melted cheese melted over it. There were two slices of bread with cheese on them inside of a very thick, hearty beef broth that was just the right amount of oily. We finished the meal by getting the coffee cheesecake to go. That cheesecake got torn apart. It was so good, it was tangy and light as opposed to a very thick, dense creamy texture. I regret we did not get two slices. The only thing about this place is that their drinks suck. But that's not why you would come here anyway.

Cocina 1912
1069 E Main St, Santa PaulaThis is some of THE BEST Mexican food I've ever had. My friends and I went last weekend because we were nearby and found it on the map. Now, we are all craving it and planning to go back ASAP. It's order-at-the-counter and there are plenty of tables. There is also a back patio. Everything is homemade from scratch -- and I mean EVERYTHING. Even the chips and salsa was incredible. I was blown away by the light, perfectly cooked tortilla that my burrito was wrapped in. All of our food was unbelievably fresh. I can't stop thinking about the fresh corn masa. All of our meals were truly SO delicious. I'm not a meat eater, but my friends were huge fans. We got to chat with Jojo, one of the co-owners, who told us the story of renovating the space to make it Cocina 1912, and you can tell that there is SO much love that goes into this place and the food. I cannot recommend it highly enough!

Anna’s Cider
801 E Main St, Santa PaulaDelicious, really refreshing and complex flavors in the cider, sweet without being actually sweet. Awesome outdoor patio space. It was slow on the Friday night I went, and I think if they upped their snack game a bit so you could have a nice dinner of snacks they would have been busier (pretzels, jar-salsa/chips/bowl combo). But I really can't complain much because the cider was great, and it looked like they probably get food trucks or something in, so it's probably busier then.
Vegetarian options: The cider and the chickpea cheesy puff snack we bought are both great for us as vegetarians.

The DRAFT @ The Mupu Grill
930 E Main St, Santa PaulaDuring my last visit, I had a good time, and enjoyed the experience for the most part, but the service was a bit lacking for about half of our stay. One of the owners had to help out our waitress, and they seemed a bit short staffed for a busy Saturday afternoon. My food was really good, great portion size, and the beer was ice cold.
