I've tried every type of shoe, shoe insert, custom orthotic, etc., but I still got hot spots at about mile 50. It was so bad that I would have to stop and remove my shoes. Bye, bye peloton! Then I found D2. Totally custom, fitted exactly to my feet, which are wide up front, narrow at the back, and arches like a ballerina. Hakob took a gazillion measurements, took impressions of my feet, and crafted me the most comfortable, best fitting, most awesome shoes ever...and they last...well, years...and more, as I'm still using them and they're going strong. I love them so much, I bought a second pair. They're not inexpensive, but oh..so...worth...it.

This is my 8th pair shoes from D2 since Hakob has been the owner. I am beyond excited to train and race in the most incredible custom shoes I have ever worn! My feet are long, narrow, flat and my toes are longer than typical so D2 is critical to my success. I have 2 - 3 pairs of shoes made each year for mtb, road, triathlon. The gains from my D2s are greater comfort, massive power increase, minimal foot fatigue, higher wattage and zero pain. I would highly recommend anyone who rides a bike to make the investment for the best cycling shoes possible. Be sure to air dry them and NEVER USE A boot dryer, I made this mistake, called Hakob and he happily fixed it.

I found out about D2 shoes after experiencing crippling pain outside of my pinky toes on each side. I opened up my shoes completely and still limped in from a 44 mile ride with 4K of climbing. I have a huge event coming up in Markleeville CA and called Hacob at D2 shoes. He told me he could make shoes built to my very wide 4E feet and I needed to visit him the next day if he was to build them in time. I drove about 3 hours and the experience with Hacob was awesome! He measured and made mold in crushy foam of my feet and he told me the shoes would be ready on July 11, five days before the ride. The shoes were finished five days early and I picked them up yesterday. I have gone on two rides totaling 53 miles with 5,000 feet of climbing, and I did not even think of my feet! These shoes are just what I needed. Service and quality are first rate, and I expect the shoes to last a long time. I am so happy that I contacted Hacob and have the answer to my cycling foot pain!

I had developed severe feet problems from ill fitting cycling shoes. After a year of riding in the poor fitting shoes, I started to develop a neuroma and experienced severe pain and hot spots at about 25 miles into my rides. I tried to ignore the pain and numbness, but couldnt. After several visits to a podiatrist, I realized that I needed new shoes and decided that I needed to INVEST in a custom pair of shoes for my health. I worked with Hakob at D2 Shoes. He listened and made my custom shoes with care and a fantastic orthotic. I can now ride 50+ miles without any discomfort and my feet have actually healed up. I recommend D2 Shoes. Hakob will support you through the fitting process all the way if you are not able to go to his shop. Your feet are worth the investment! And they look good too!

After going through numerous pairs of cycling shoes over the years and never finding a pair that fit correctly and was comfortable, I finally decided to give up the wild goose chase and invest in a custom made pair. After a bit of online research, I found D2 Shoe in Santa Paula, CA. I contacted the owner, Hakob Sargsyan, and set up a fitting appointment. Hakob and his wife were quite gracious and we felt as though we were being invited into their home when we entered their workshop. Hakob spent a great deal of time measuring my feet and placing them into the foam forms to get an exact fit. After looking at several sample pairs in the shop and numerous photos, I decided on the design I wanted (Power Wires) and the colors I liked. It was not until Hakob did my fitting that I found that I actually have two different size feet with just enough difference to make my left foot uncomfortable all the time while riding. Well, after about 4 weeks, I rec'd my new shoes in the mail. They are just plain great looking. As the accompanying literature says, they may be a bit tight at first until you get the first 100 or so miles in them. Mine were on the snug side but now after the break-in period, they are comfortable and fit like a glove. I have also noticed that my sprint intervals have improved with much higher speeds reached and my average overall average speed has increased by approximately .2-.3 mph which on a 2 hour ride translates into about a half mile increase in distance over the same time. Frankly, I would have been money ahead having these shoes made for me earlier on than wasting more time and dollars on different models of expensive factory made shoes looking for a comfortable fit that didn't exist. These shoes are pricey and worth every penny! If you're a serious cyclist and you want to squeeze every single watt out of each pedal stroke and be comfortable, D2 shoes are for you.

This is my fourth pair of D2 shoes but my first pair that Hakob has made. These mountain bike shoes are the best pair of D2 shoes I own! Design is flawless fitting my feet perfectly. Cleat position is great and foot pain eradicated. Hakob is doing amazing work and anyone who is interested in a bespoke cycling shoe experience would be wise to select D2. You will not be disappointed!!

I’ve worn my new D2 shoes on the last half dozen rides on three different types of bike and am extremely happy with them. The fit is the best I’ve ever had, with no pressure points anywhere. The wire fasteners are the best I’ve used and I can get them exactly as snug as I want them.

I have done a fair bit of business with Hakob over the last few years. I have had shoes repaired by Hakob and I just bought a new pair. The shoes are not cheap, but he does great work and has been very helpful. I ride alot and I am very happy with my D2 shoes. I have big feet, with high insteps, so custom has been the way to go for me for cycling shoes and ski boots.

I have bunions and flat feet. My prior D2 shoes lasted about 8 years. Ordered a new pair a few months ago. Amazing fit and finish. Even better than my first pair! Happy feet and terrific responsive service from Hakob.

Not happy with my custom D2 shoes. Not a snug fit around my heel so it pulls out on the up stroke. Had to modify speedplay cleats to work with the sole of the shoe. 1/2” gap on the outside of the shoe near my ankle even with them tightened down with the dial system they use. Overall not very happy spending over $1k for custom shoes and they don’t fit perfect. Contacted Hakob about the issue and no response.

I found Hakob and D2Shoe on the web. I sent and email and got a prompt reply. As I live in California, I made an appointment and went in. I have terrible foot problems which limited my bike riding to at most 30 miles with conventional bike shoes. Last Saturday I rode over 100 miles with my new D2's with no foot pain. I can't change my feet but now I can get shoes that allow me to ride like any other cyclist. I love these shoes.
