Everyone that works here is super friendly & upbeat! I always feel like I am walking into a positive environment & we do a lot of trips here for our Bearded Dragon & Fish needs! Charles ~ The Real Aquaman - as I call him - has changed my fishtank management life w his phenomenal advice on how to keep it clean & give me a life back not having to clean the heck out of it each month! He is so sweet & it's always a highlight for me when he's there & we can have a hug & a chat! It's SO REFRESHING & INSPIRING to interact w people that actually love their job & are really good at it too! Thanks Guys! You mean a lot to my family!

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Terrible service and customer service by general manager Alicia. Booked the training twice by mistake, both times. ( Saturday and Sunday) had to come and not get a training for the dog that was schedule. The way Alicia handled her own mistakes and spoke to my mother and I, is not acceptable and she shouldn't be working with people especially in places where things should be easy, light and joyful. General manager Alicia is rude and not professional and really hope she won't be a manager for much longer. I will be contacting the corporate office.

The two worst customer service experiences I've had in my life have both taken place here-years apart. Almost every review here echoes much the same. Which tells me; if you're mentally not sound, have no people or pet skills, are rude and unprofessional...get excited, this is the place for you. I sincerely believe they go out of their way to hire people who are "off" and have no business interacting with he general public.

I stopped into the store in between errands and Alicia was fantastic. She answered all the questions I had, and then some excellent customer service. I will be returning customer. Thank you.

I visited this PETCO on Sept.1st, 2023. I was looking for Parrot supplies, and Centinela Feed had virtually nothing. Anyway, I was frazzled after a long day, and I found the young staff there exceptionally intelligent, helpful, knowledgable and NICE! Three young people were working, all good-humored and all went out of their way to help me find what I was looking for. They knew where everything was, and were polite and simply great. One of them had a pet bird and shared tips about birds with me. I left with a renewed feeling that humanity will survive if these are the young people of today. Maybe that's grandiose, but it only takes those small interactions to make the world a better place.(SIDE NOTE: Centinela Feed has gone the other direction, with zombie-like employees all stuck wearing horrible & unnecessary face masks so that interactions there have become depressing and weird.) Not true of PETCO where the staff is relaxed and comfortable, and it is reflected in their service.GO PETCO! You are doing something right! I'm making a point of going to PETCO over the miserable, masked Centinela Feed.

The groomers here are totally rude! I am now rethinking my membership. According to the app a la carte grooming services such as nail trimming are done on a walk in basis. The groomers refuse to honor this policy. I came in twice and was twice refused. Both times they let me know all groomers were busy, yet only two out three were, the other was chitchatting with them. Rather than pay them to trim my dog's nails, I bought my own clippers and will look into canceling membership given there doesn't seem to be much benefit. Petco you need to do better!

I shop here for the refillable 30 lb bucket of cat litter sand. It's the best deal on cat litter by far and you are not wasting any packaging materials as you reuse your bucket to refill it for years.

Rude cashier was unwilling to help me find the product I needed. When I did find it, he made me wait in line twice even though most of my shopping was already at his counter.Selection is poor, staff is careless and non existent, and the cashier is rude. I'll be buying my pet products from other supermarkets and online from now on. It's time for this crappy store to join the rest of empty warehouses in Santa Monica that are now "for lease."

Midori (spelling?) was so awesome in helping me pick the right tank mates for my betta fish. She was super knowledgeable and happy to help answer my questions. The customer service hasn't been the best here in the past but I was very pleased with my recent visit!

No one help customers here. I waited about half a hour to buy some fishes. No one came to assist. I can't put my arm into the tanks to grab those fishes, can I? Ask a manager and an associate to send someone to help. Obviously they did not ask for anyone. I did not hear the call through the intercom, either.

Petco on Wilshire/29th St in Santa Monica is a branch I had to visit for the mobile Vetco Clinic. My furbaby's annual shots were coming up and the online appointment showed this branch had availability, so I booked a date and time here. From past experience, online booking isn't too reliable so I also booked at another location as a back up plan. There's ample free parking behind the store, and as I pulled in, I received a text from Vetco stating they didn't have a particular vaccine...I wasn't surprised at all. With my furbabe in tow, I proceed with the appointment as there were other medications needed. The veterinarian present apparently makes rounds within the West Los Angeles Vetco's because she has examined my furbaby in the past. Deserving 5 stars and a big Thank You to the vet Dr Miura and her staff, who were efficient and handled my dog with care while getting other annual medications. After the exam and meds, I'm given a payment bill which needs to be taken to the Petco cashier to pay. 12/10/22 10:12a The cashier was a so unprofessional, rude and belligerent. I made sure to complete my transaction and got my receipt before I commented on how terribly rude and miserably unprofessional her mannerisms where towards Me. My comment was simply telling her to greet customers and 'be NICE, look it up, it's not difficult.' As expected from someone who Less Than Smart, she overreacted and started yelling at Me to leave the store. Her reaction is undoubtedly evidence of guilt as she was called out on it by Me. If the store's camera were rolling, it would evidence her Gesturing with her hand pointing towards the exit, as she yelled at Me. I've been a customer of Petco and Vetco for over 13 years. Usually frequent the branches in West Hollywood, Beverly Bl and Westwood and have never had an issue with unprofessional rude and miserably mean staffers. This person who said her name was Kai, sure got out of the wrong side of the bed, didn't have her coffee, didn't take her meds and more importantly forgot to take the Be NICE pills! Her negative and uncalled for loud yelling at customers is synonymous to a vicious canine who needs a muzzle. If you're in the service industry Please Be Nice. This particular branch has several negative reviews about the staff being rude, unprofessional, yelling at customers and also mistreatment of pets. The 3 star overall rating is not credible, it deserves zero stars. Despite a business' low, average or high rating, I always give the business the benefit of doubt. I can confirm the negative experience with a staffer, would avoid shopping here unless you want to be treated poorly. All businesses should value all customers, be courteous and have a positive demeanor. Petco and Vetco can verify my account and see the number of years I've been a customer. I will NOT return to this Santa Monica Petco if rude and unprofessional staffers continue to work here. Will NOT recommend, NO!

I made an appointment for 10 am I was there and there was no waiting My rescue Got himself a microchip and a couple other shots and boosters Also I picked up a year's supply of some anti fleas and some other creatures that we don't know about until they are there so Got me a better price by extending the intake for"Maxx" my rescue They'll send me reminders of any updates or upcoming appointments Is too bad that I cannot get my dog neutered through them So now I have to find a vet that could do the surgery and won't cost an arm and a leg Other than that The store in Santa Monica is the place to find a vet to do several other procedures like Rabies and Microchip and all the needed evaluations . I recommend this Petco and the Vetco I already have a Groomer so I won't be needing their service at this time but I also noticed they provide dog training as well as grooming a pretty cool place to have all the needed services under one roof

Just got a puppy. This is a bigger store than Unleashed which is about a mile down Wilshire. They have a wider selection of items and additional services like grooming and vaccines. The store reps are helpful and since it is my first pet pup I had a lot of questions. They suggested that if anything doesn't work out they have a generous 30 day return policy. Let's see if that's true! Got my pup groomed here. They did a fantastic job. Stephen helped groom my pup and got her looking sharp. It feels like they are trained to upsell. That ok but also :/ overall still a good experience.

This review is for Petco Grooming. I tend to go to Rudy for my pups cut. The price is right and she likes him. He does a great job, but don't go too short on a curly doodle. Book in the app and be a Pals Reward member for a discount
