Waited for 20 minutes for someone to service the line. Nobody showed up. Most customers eventually left. Was it a day off for the staff?

People of SM, USPS is a problem top down & the two on 7th & Wilshire are both a mess. That extends to the carriers too. And like any org, yes there are exceptions, helpful, pleasant employees. But the the rule here is lazy & rude while in well paid union jobs with great benefits & pensions. In the 15 years in our neighborhood, we had two conscientious carriers, an older man & woman, who were replaced by at least 8 different carriers in the last 10 years. One young woman waltzed around our streets screeching daily on her cellphone with her friends, paying zero attention to correct addresses. Even her subs complained to the postmaster because she would leave her undelivered mail for the day to the subs to deliver another day. Guess what happened? Reassigned to another neighborhood, fireable offense in any other business. We’ve seen carriers napping in their trucks. Two credit cards never made it to our mailbox & had to be cancelled. And now reading mail with checks deposited at the 7th St facility have been stolen. What is happening?!
So friends, complain publicly and maybe management will start to change. It is disgraceful.

My rent check that I mailed here was stolen and deposited from this branch. There is massive corruption in the USPS. This needs to be addressed (sorry for the pun).
It took over 30 days to get my money back. Fuk.

I don't know why they have bad reviews. The employees at this Post Office are very friendly & professional. I, personally, had a very good experience at this location. A very nice employee named Ryan helped me with my Passport Application. He's polite, nice, and very thorough with my application.
I felt like I was in good hands, and I'm very grateful for his service.
It all went smoothly. I had no issues at all. The appointment lasted about 15 minutes.
I definitely recommend this post office because the employees are wonderful.

What is the point of someone paying for secured delivery which requires a signature if all of your postal workers are too lazy to come to my door? Now I have to go do your job and pick up the package myself from your office because I know you won’t bother ringing my doorbell while I’m home.
Oh but you had time to open my mailbox and leave a “Sorry we missed you” note while I was home.

Today, June 14, 2024, I have an appointment for my son to get his passport. The employee, latina, old lady with glasses (with colored blond curly hair) called for those with appointment was not pleasant in the beginning. I showed her all the paperwork. When she ask about my citizenship, I told her that I just applied for my passport and my citizenship original copy was submitted. She told me that, unfortunately, she can not process it. And I am fine with that, I understand and not a big deal. What I did not like was that she made a comment saying that it is my FAULT. That I should've took my son with me when I applied without KNOWING why I applied earlier. I just find that so unprofessional. Her comment is not necessary for her to do her job.

RUN to another USPS and AVOID this branch! This branch is full of incompetent employees. They are moving at a glacial pace and constantly pointing people towards the self-service kiosk, despite it having printing errors.
There were 10 people in line when I arrived and it took me about 30 minutes to get to the front desk.

If I could give a lower review I would. I used to be all for the post office. But the customer service here is deplorable.
Came for passport work. Walk-in time starts at 9:30 as stated online. Got in an argument with the older worker who not want to start working and said walk processing starts at 10. Said he had 3 appointments.
Meanwhile no appointments show up and a line of walk-ins start building up. Eventually the manager comes and tells him to start processing instead of just sitting at his desk doing nothing. He argues with her then finally starts working at the slowest pace I’ve ever seen someone work, if you call it that.
Your vote matters. I was for the USPS, but I see that it needs to be reformed or shut down.

Wait times can be long even when there is/are 1 or 2 people ahead of you due to limited staff. The staff are not the friendliest; they talk fast when explaining different services. No smiles to be seen. Metered parking outside. A plus is that they're open on Saturdays.

I submitted a missing mail request through USPS for a package that wasn't delivered. A lady from the post office called me back and informed me that the package had been delivered, stating that there was nothing more they could do. When I asked if it might have been delivered to the wrong address, she directed me to submit a claim through a website, www.usps.lostmail/claim. However, upon visiting the website, it became apparent that it was fraudulent. Despite my concerns, she insisted that everyone had used it without issue to file claims. When I questioned why she provided me with a fraudulent website, she simply reiterated that the mail was lost and they were unable to assist further.
