I don't normally write reviews but in this instance I have to comment on Scott Properties. A definite change when dealing with the office and in particular the new manager, Christopher Shoaf. Chris, has managed to accomplish and address ongoing maintenance issues in a short period of time that the previous team were incompetent to resolve or simply just ignored in the past year++My experience in dealing with Chris has been a very positive one....fast, efficient, listens and addresses concerns and finds a solution! Bottom line Chris gets the job done, he's courteous, kind, communicates and has great follow through regarding tenant issues which can be very stressful!What a difference...a professional with exceptional people skills, I hope he's here to stay...

My initial experience as a tenant at the Iowa Ave apartments was wonderful, but everything changed when Scott Property Group took over. The contrast between their management and the owner's excellent service is stark and deeply disappointing.Communicating with Scott Property Group has been frustratingly difficult, as there's no direct line to the apartment manager, complicating even basic interactions. During our move-out, they initially overcharged us for the final prorated rent. Although they eventually fixed this error after 2 days of trying to reach someone, just before rent was due, it added unnecessary stress.Under Scott Property Group, we've also faced annual rent increases, which have not corresponded with improved service or value. A notable instance was a termite issue in our unit. Despite a professional assessment and promises of follow-up, we heard nothing further until we moved out.In addition, they introduced fees for online rent payments without prior notice - $2.49 for ACH and $8-9 for credit card transactions, well above the national average of $0.49 for ACH payments. This lack of transparency is troubling.It's a shame that property owners, who were excellent in our case, might be impacted by this review. However, it's important for potential tenants and owners to be aware of these shortcomings. The fact that Scott Property Group has a mere 2.5-star average review on Yelp reflects these issues. This experience of poor communication, ineffective management, and hidden costs marks a significant decline in tenant satisfaction since their takeover, and I hope this review helps others in their decision-making.

I had a showing with Dane yesterday. He was very knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. He showed me two units and knew all the relevant info about both. His expertise made it easy for me to pick out my dream apartment. Highly recommend!

The 14th St. property is a really cool building I've enjoyed living there for quite a while. The experience has been very good when they have problems they let us know when they saw them quickly good communication especially with the manager great experience great building!

Five stars for CHRIS!!! I dealt with four people in that company and he is the only person that gets the things done. Thank you so very much, Chris, for all the support and prompt resolutions! I can finally feel in this apartment as at home.

I recently had some maintenance issues in my apartment at a Scott properties, and I must say, Chris, the apartment manager, has been incredibly responsive in addressing them. When I encountered problems that needed repair, Chris promptly took action.If the maintenance technician assigned initially couldn't resolve the issue, Chris didn't hesitate to call in another expert. In cases where I hadn't heard back from the office, I would reach out, and Chris always took care of things for me almost immediately.Today, I had a situation where the first maintenance guy couldn't fix the window in my master bedroom. Chris quickly arranged for a second maintenance technician to come over after my call yesterday. The second technician arrived early and efficiently fixed the issue with my bedroom window.I'm grateful for Chris's dedication and the swift response to my maintenance requests. It's reassuring to know that they prioritize tenant satisfaction and ensure that issues get resolved promptly so far. Thank you, Chris and the maintenance team, for your excellent service!

Am a tenant at one of Scotts Properties.Had issue with stove and Christ was extremely responsive and helpful! I was able to get a replacement within a few days.

Let's talk about Scott Properties Group. They took over for our previous property management company, Mcintire Management, and they've not done any improvements to our property. When dealing with a neighbor's dog who's barking incessantly during the day for hours there response was "Call Animal Services that's not our responsibility". Meanwhile, the other areas of the property are falling apart so much so they had multiple property violations in accordance with local Los Angeles laws. Stay away from any of their properties.

RENT ANYWHERE ELSE! Horrible expensive rentals that are falling apart and they do the bare minimum. Takes weeks to fix things after requesting, then they schedule the handy man to come by at inconvenient times for me and my roommates, and they often fix things with the cheapest quality which break or wear out in months. Fixed are also incorrectly installed. On top of all that they raise rent to the maximum 5% and they recently added on a fee for e-check payments. Nickel and diming for everything.

ZERO STARS. I requested to be off my lease in June and never received a response. I had one other roommate who stayed in the unit and had issues with paying rent. Now they are not letting me off the lease, even though the 30 day notice was acknowledged by my roommate and one of Scott’s employees. This is a shady company. I will be hiring a lawyer.

Laundry room door has not been repaired/replaced... and, now they're going to charge to pay rent online. Heed my warnings, this company is the worst.

avoid at all costs. Once you find a place do identify the property manager. And if this name comes up then move on the next one. All the 1 star reviews don't lie. And the two 5 star reviews are quite suspect.

Awful and worse. Scott properties goes out of its way to make things worse. Which then causes stress and conflict. Sad to say the least.
