About Farmers Market - Wednesday/Saturday Downtown Santa Monica
The Wednesday market was established in 1981 and is widely recognized as one of the largest and most diverse Certified Farmers Markets in the nation. Local residents, out of town visitors, celebrities and many of Los Angeles' best known chefs and restaurants, can be found shopping this location which features over 60 California farms. The Saturday market was established in 1991 and presents the largest percentage of certified organic growers of Santa Monica’s four markets. Locals and tourists browse over 40 farm stands at this weekend market which is adjacent to the Third Street Promenade. The Wednesday and Saturday markets are 8:00am to 1:00pm, rain or shine, and may be closed for selected holidays.
