Title: Mixed Experience at Salon Republic Santa MonicaI had the opportunity to rent a studio at Salon Republic in Santa Monica, and my experience there was a blend of ups and downs. Initially, everything was fantastic. The studio provided a great space for my work, and the ambiance was truly inspiring.As the COVID situation unfolded, things became more challenging due to constantly changing rules and regulations. However, despite the hurdles, we managed to navigate through the difficulties together, which I appreciated.However, my overall impression of Salon Republic soured significantly when it was time for me to move out. They presented me with a bill exceeding three thousand dollars, an outrageous amount compared to the mere $150 deposit I had initially paid. They claimed that I had caused damage to the studio that I rented, leaving me baffled and frustrated.This serves as a word of caution for anyone considering renting from Salon Republic: be aware that they expect the studio to be returned in the exact condition it was when you first moved in no matter how many years you have been there, meaning no account for wear and tear. Failure to meet their standards could result in substantial charges that you may not have anticipated.In addition, a piece of advice; I'm truly grateful for is stopping the automatic weekly rent deduction from my account well before my departure. Had I not done so, Salon Republic could have easily taken the money from my account without my consent.Sharing this review is essential because, in situations like these, it's crucial to empower fellow renters with information. While we might not always have advocates in our corner, remember that establishments like Salon Republic have their own support systems.In the end, my time at Salon Republic had its moments, but the post-rental experience left me disappointed and cautious about similar arrangements in the future.

Kim Young, the owner of this salon, is UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE, and HEARTLESS. Client asked for root touch up to blonde; ended up ruining her hair and turning her hair reddish-brown. Kim Young refused to fix her hair so as the client's right refused to pay for ruining her hair. The owner got upset, pulled the client's hair and called the police for refusing to pay for sh** services, and locked the client in the salon until midnight until client gave up and paid and was able to finally be let go out of the salon. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS.

This review was long due! Jay Lee at Salon Republic suite 40 saved me from a bad hair experience and color corrected my hair to give me a softer look. She also did deep conditioning and my hair felt so grateful after that. She does have a lot of knowledge about hair, products and all kinds of treatments. Thanks.

This woman is a master at hair! I can't get over how incredibly talented and insightful she is about her knowledge of hair and hairstyles.She is a wonderful woman and could not imagine having a better hair stylist who genuinely cares about the health of my hair as well as the beauty of my looks. She is so patient and understanding I wish I could give a six star review.

Kim is amazing with cutting hair and with color. I've searched and searched for someone who can do both. She's truly talented and stands out from the rest in terms of talent. I will never go anywhere else.

Kim is truly talented at what she does. I am picky about my hair and she gets it right every single time. I have a combination of tape in extensions and I tip around my face. I don't like my hair to be too heavy and i still need to wear it up a lot for work but i wanted the length and thickness at the same time. She nailed it. And it didn't take all day either. I love my hair and it looks so natural...Kim wouldn't have it any other way. Her hair extensions are super high quality and she's very knowledgeable too so she can guide you if you're new to the extension game like me. I tried some other places but the truth is my hair just looks the best when Kim does it. She's a pleasure to be around and the time flies by each time I'm in her beautiful salon. I'll keep coming back as long as she's here!
