Physical therapy works is easily the best PT I've ever worked with. I've had to go to a lot of PT over the last 15 years due to various issues, however, PTW has really changed my opinion on the value of PT. John, Luck, Mo, and everyone else on the team genuinely care about their patients and are invested in helping improve the quality of life. I've found a lot of PTs to just cycle as many patients through as quickly as possible, but PTW is different. They give as much time and attention as needed and it really has made a difference in my recovery.Highly recommend this place.

Brit Hirsch has been my personal trainer for several years. She is excellent in all the ways a personal trainer should be! First of all, she really listens and then creates a program that is tailor-made to fit my needs. She's smart and intuitive and so well trained in yoga, body building, strength training - you name it, she's studied it. She's passionate about her work.Exercising was never my favorite activity, but working with Brit has made it fun and even exciting! Her attitude is positive and focused and I've gotten stronger and more confident. I highly recommend Brit. She's the best!

Fractured my ankle from contact sports, and found this little gem in Santa Monica earlier around July/August! This is the second PT spot I've had in my experience and they definitely put in a lot of care with their patients. I came in not being able to run or jump or do heel raises. Joe was my PT and he was very professional when diagnosing me, asking specific questions, and making exercise adjustments when observing me. PT aides are very helpful in guiding you through exercises (though, some are more experienced than others). Overall, the team is experienced--they taught me how to give cues to direct my body when performing exercises to prevent injuries (ex. squat racks, bands, etc.) Just ask them if you are ever unsure! I left a little early before fully recovering due to having to move. Nonetheless, I felt confident and had workout recovery plan to help me get back to my old activities. *update--I can run, jump, and doing single heel raises now!*The front desk is great--a little busy at times but Luck gets the job done! She is kind (always greets me when I come in) and very efficient in setting up appointments, running payments, and making sure you are all set!The facility is small, but well-kept, very clean, and strict in following COVID prevention measures which I appreciate because I see many places are relaxed in this area. Environment is really friendly and helpful so I truly recommend anyone who is looking to get back on their feet quickly with good guidance.

Absolutely the best. They're friendly, personal, and genuinely care about their patients. The therapists and the support team were professional and able to explain what was happening to me and find solutions. I'm grateful.

Impressive team. John, Brit, Luck. Low key professional environment. The experience seemed thorough and focused.

The office manager luck could be a little passive aggressive sometime, but the Therapist all had amazing attitudes and did an out sanding job helping my daughter rehabilitation. I would have rated them a 5 star if the office manager was not rude on occasion and the office location was not so hard to get to from my location. The building access could be a little better. Overall there are better than average and have stellar physical therapist.

Huge appreciation for PTW clinicians, therapists and staff! I'm an active septuagenarian who received support, practical advice and successful treatment at PHYSICAL THERAPYWORKS this year. I'm running again! Special thanks to Carol Gong, DPT. They are Professional, relatable, knowledgeable and worthy of the Santa Monica's Most Loved award 2021. And "Nope" I wasn't paid to say any of this. Just one very satisfied client. Thank you John, Luck, Britt and all.

Don't come here for complicated injuries. I came once and walked away with pain that I hadn't felt in months. I have a fused spine, and the PT was moving my head in ways that it cannot move. I said that it hurts, and they did the other side. Further, you only see your PT for a little, then you do all the exercises with an assistant. The assistant didn't even know my neck is fused. They just thought my neck was tight and that's why I couldn't turn it. I told them that stretching my neck in the way they wanted me to hurts a lot (after trying repeatedly), and they asked if I wanted to "start over" (3 times...). I've been in PT for a long time, and I know the difference between pain you can work through, and pain you can't work through, and this was pain you cannot work through and the assistant (and place in general) was being irresponsible. Plus, as someone with a very complicated medical history, they didn't even watch me do the exercises on my first visit. Definitely avoid this place

I had a Microdiscectomy (spine surgery) 6 months ago and my surgeon (Dr. Hooman Melamed) was adamant about the importance of physical therapy to ensure a full recovery. I was referred to Physical Therapyworks and could not be happier with the results. I have suffered countless orthopedic injuries throughout my collegiate and semi-pro athletic career, and can confidently say that the treatment and care I have received from John and his team, is by far the best I have experienced. John takes his time with each patient and focus on an all encompassing approach to heal and strengthen not only the area that was injured, but also problem areas that could contribute to pain, discomfort and potentially additional injuries. His team communicates with each other and there is a clear plan for each visit, without wasting a minute of time. I have worked extensively with his aide Ezmerelda, who is fantastic. I have also started a personal training regiment with Brit, who is extremely focused on form and clearly has a passion for helping her patients/clients. Luck, who is responsible for all things administrative, is extremely responsive and friendly. My back has never felt better and I know that Physical Therapyworks has played a huge part in my recovery and continued progress.

Carole cured my hip pain and was a joy to get to know to boot! Not only am I more comfortable and sleeping better, but I feel stronger. I still do a lot of the exercises that she (and all of the wonderful aides) taught me. I feel like they equipped me with a tool kit that will help me maintain my strength and keep my pain at bay. I'm now a huge proponent of physical therapy and recommended that my husband go and see Carole for his foot pain. She fixed him too! It's also worth noting that Luck, the office manager/scheduler/receptionist/jill of many trades, is very kind and super organized. She makes everything easy so that you can focus on showing up and getting treatment.

PTW is an incredible healing haven. Their PT's and trainers are informative, compassionate and extremely helpful. They listen to you which is unusual in the traditional medical field. If you need any physical therapy treatment, I highly recommend PTW.

This is a good place to go if you're recently post-op with no other orthopedic issues. However, if you have more complicated problems and need physical therapy long-term, this isn't the right place. I have an extremely complicated spine and hips ~ 12 surgeries in all ~ and despite explaining that at the outset, sending 6 radiologist's reports, and requesting a physical therapist with the most experience, I couldn't get past Luck at the front desk to get to anyone beyond the one and only other physical therapist, a resident ~ Harris. Technically he's a physical therapist. He just graduated PT school and is pursuing an advanced certification. After sustaining 3 injuries in my first 10 visits with Harris (30% of my visits), and upon learning he was leaving, I decided it was the right time to go elsewhere. Harris called me the next day to find out where I was going to go for PT because he "wanted to make sure I was sane." I was so angry and shaken that I emailed the owner, John Dravillas, who was immediately responsive (though he subsequently told me he didn't pursue this hugely inappropriate statement with Harris, other than to verify that he'd indeed said those exact words to me. So much for that learning opportunity for Harris.) John took me on as his patient (told me I should have asked for him in the first place(!)), and over the course of 5 weeks, I made really good strides with no more injuries. For the 1st time in 20 years of pain, between my last surgery and PT with an experienced therapist, I had legit hope. Then last week when I told John I could get more prescriptions for PT any time I needed them, his response, as he walked away from me, was "WE determine medical necessity. We have paperwork about Medicare guidelines. Get one from Luck" ~ my having made no reference whatsoever to insurance. (I was fully aware I was out of Medicare-paid sessions until 2121.) John knows my spine has numerous blown out discs, endured multiple surgeries, will require another fusion sooner rather than later, not to mention an immediate need to continue rehabilitation from the latest surgery. This led to a painfully prolonged, unnecessary discourse about Medicare felony and fraud. I found myself being dragged in an Alice-in-Wonderland email exchange with John defending something I never suggested or even thought of. Furthermore, if had John listened, he'd have recalled just how well I know the rules because I shared that years ago, I reported an orthopedic surgeon to my then-insurance company and the State Medical Licensing Board for fraudulent billing practices... I had receipts and was correct. While I sincerely value coming as far as I have (I'm about 40% there), I'm not where I need to be and sitting, standing in one place and walking much of a distance causes me pain. Where I am in my recovery has been confirmed as normal by the TRAUMA SURGEON who performed my surgery and just gave me another prescription for physical therapy. I place far more value on his opinion than that of a physical therapist. I would gladly have paid for more visits (just as I have for the past 9 years and was prepared to do), for the ability to walk more than back and forth in the small exercise room. All I wanted is to walk around the block without weakness or pain. After hours of these emails, I realized what this came down to was John/PTW's rigid Medicare dollars-and-cents-definition of "medical necessity" as opposed to finishing treatment for my most recent surgery. Doctors don't think about who pays when they prescribe something their patient needs. Nothing in this world is worth the emotional wrenching I experienced twice in 6 weeks here. I've seen my share of doctors in 20 years for significant orthopedic issues and am a very compliant patient because I desperately need these people's help. The rigidity I experienced, and how that translated, from the front desk to both physical therapists, and the emotional price I've had to pay (including a fin
